In 2002, Turkish-based developer Vivid Image released this weapon based FightingGame for the Platform/GameBoyAdvance. A summary from the other wiki states: "Dual Blades is a fighting video game published by [=Metro3D=], Inc. for the Game Boy Advance. It is a fighting game with single player and player versus player modes. It features a "power combining system" which was very new for the genre at that time. This system allows players to create their own fighting style. Characters include ninjas, knights, and American adventurers, an Ottoman warrior named Efe and Nagasapa, an innocent-looking old lady who is in fact a Khazak sorceress."

In 2013, a sequel titled "Slashers the Power Battle" was released as an IndieGame for Windows [[Platform/IBMPersonalComputer PCs]], Platform/{{Android|Games}}, and, in the following years, Platform/{{OUYA}} and [[UsefulNotes/IOSGames iOS]]. It was made by Stun Games, the successor entity to Vivid Image, and was also [[http://www.kiss-ltd.co.uk/news/slashers-the-power-battle-out-on-early-access-today/ published by KISS Ltd]]. In addition to all the characters from the original game, a new character, Mirei Ozawa, was also included. A link to Stun Games website is provided [[http://www.stun-games.com/ here]].

In 2021, a third game, [[http://www.stun-games.com/dual-souls/ "Dual Souls: The Last Bearer"]], for mobile devices and Platform/{{Steam}} was released. A Platform/NintendoSwitch port was released the year after.

Not to be confused with the trope of DualWielding.

!!This game features the following tropes:
* ActionGirl: Two of the fighters on the roster are females, those being Kanae Ozawa and Nagasapa. ''Slashers: The Power Battle'' added a third with the [[{{Ninja}} kunoichi]] Mirei Ozawa.
* AlternateCompanyEquivalent: Basically these games are an equivalent to Creator/{{SNK}}'s ''VideoGame/SamuraiShodown'' series [[TransatlanticEquivalent though set in Europe and the Middle East instead of Japan]].
* CardCarryingVillain: [[EvilSorcerer Rungard]]'s likes include "His dreams of Hell built on the world" and dislikes are "Love and harmony". Shin isn't much better given his respective likes and dislikes are "taking lives" and "Things that don’t scream while being killed".
* ContinuityReboot: ''Dual Souls'' is acknowledged to be a reboot of the series.
* DefeatMeansPlayable: Alperen can be unlocked by beating him on hard difficulty.
* FinalBoss: Alperen serves as the final opponent in ''Dual Blades'' as well as the follow ups ''Slashers'' and ''Dual Souls''.
* FinishingMove: Of which they are done in ''Dual Blades'' in a manner similar to those in ''Samurai Shodown IV''. Many of these take the form of a DiagonalCut in which the defeated opponent's body would slide in half after the cut. ''Slashers'' also has these same finishers, but are {{Bowdlerize}}d in which the final frame when a finishing move happens will switch to black and white with the word "SLASH" appearing (of which the word is also sliding from a diagonal cut).
* ImmortalityInducer: The eponymous [[MacGuffin Dual Blades]] that are the prize for Alperen's tournament grant its wielder immortality.
* KungFuWizard: Both Rungard and Nagasapa use magic in battle.
* PartsUnknown: Zigzagged across the roster. While some characters have specific origins in either the Ottoman Empire (Efe and Alperen), Japan (the Ozawa sisters), the Kazakh Khanate (Nagasapa), or the United States (Brandon O'Brien), some are never given a specific origin. Those latter are Shin (somewhere in eastern Asia), Duke Andre (somewhere in Europe), and Rungard ("Middle Europe"). Then there is one, Jaman, who is among a race of beings known as Bloodkin.
* PowersThatBe: Zishin, introduced in ''Slashers'' appears to be this and is connected to the Dual Blades in some way. From Alperen's bio "Zishin is an intelligent and mysterious being whose exact motivations are unknown."
* SiblingRivalry: In the sequel ''Slashers: The Power Battle'', the Ozawa sisters are now established to be in a intra-family feud. Kanae is a swordswoman who is one of the last surviving members of her family who were killed by a clan of {{Ninja}}s [[{{Revenge}} which she seeks to destroy]]. Her sister, Mirei, was abducted by those very same ninjas and raised to believe that the Ozawas had supposedly committed an evil for which their extermination was justified. While Kanae does not wish to kill her sister, she doesn't hesitate to fight and incapacitate her if need be.
* StanceSystem: ''Dual Blades'' and ''Slashers'' has a version of this called the "power combining system" that is similar to the ''Samurai Shodown'' series' Slash/Bust system, which is rather fitting given the inspiration for these games.
* ThanatosGambit: Alpheren, a warrior made immortal via the eponymous Dual Blades, [[DeathSeeker seeking for an end to his life]] [[ReallySevenHundredYearsOld after living for 2000+ years]] has made him miserable is what puts the ExcusePlot in motion.
* WalkingShirtlessScene: Brandon and, to a lesser degree, Rungard.
* WeaponBasedCharacterization: As a weapon-based fighting game, obviously each character is going to go into battle with his/her own weapon tailored to their fighting style. The fighters and their respective weapons are as follows:
** Efe: SinisterScimitar
** Kanae Ozawa: [[KatanasAreJustBetter Katana]]
** Brandon: {{BFS}}
** Shin: Naginata
** Duke Andre: KnightlySwordAndShield
** Nagasapa: Whip
** Rungard: MagicStaff
** [[MightyGlacier Jaman]]: WolverineClaws
** [[GlassCannon Mirei Ozawa]]: StockNinjaWeaponry (dagger, kunai, and shuriken)
