Lycanite's Mobs is a GameMod for VideoGame/Minecraft created by Lycanite (naturally) that adds in a huge amount of new monsters, materials gotten from said monsters, and even new weapons that can be crafted. Alongside various original monsters and mythical beasts, the mod introduces creatures from VideoGame/Doom, VideoGame/Heretic, VideoGame/Hexen, and even VideoGame/Oddworld, into Minecraft.

!!Lycanites Mobs provides examples of:

* AdaptationalHeroism: In VideoGame/Doom the Pinkies are violent beasts incapable of reason, in Lycanite they can be tamed and will even help you fight other demons.
* AllTrollsAreDifferent: Big mean lumbering beasts who throw boulders and turn to stone when exposed to sunlight. Being turned to stone does not kill them and actually raises their defense, but also reduces their movement and attack speed to an absolute crawl.
* AntiFrustrationFeatures: Even the weakest monsters in the game can pack a wallop, making early game tougher than usual. To help with this one of the most easily found mobs in the game are Nymphs, friendly elementals of life that heal the player just by being in their presence.
* BigBad: While there isn’t really a story per se, the demons Asmodeus and Rahovart are still pointed out as being the masterminds behind the demons and infernal forces that must be destroyed. Defeating them, as well as the Amalgalich, is the closest thing there is to an end goal.
* BigRedDevil: Behemoths. Unsurprising, considering they're based on Barons of Hell from VideoGame/Doom. As well as Afrits, though they're small and black. Also Rahovart, with an emphasis on big.
** Arixes are a bit more unconventional, being white ice imps.
* ChestMonster: Not traditional "chests" in this case, but Ents and Geonachs fill this trope in a gameplay sense - Ents have a chance to spawn when players harvest wood blocks, while Geonachs have a chance to spawn when the player mines ores.
* Chupacabra: Here it is a GlassCannon canine beast that lives in caves.
* DragonRider: Most of the dragons in the game can be tamed and ridden.
* ElementalEmbodiment: All of the Elemental Mobs, naturally. Cinders, Reivers, Jengus, Zephyrs, Grues, and Geonachs all fit here.
* ElementalWeapon: The Cinderfall Sword and the Venom Axeblade light enemies on fire and poison enemies, respectively.
* EyeBeams: Eyewigs can shoot poisonous laser beams from their eyes.
* Expy: The Wildkin and Naxris are copyright-friendly versions of an Owlbears and Beholders.
** A large amount of beings in the Nether, especially the demons, are right out of VideoGame/Doom.
* FierySalamander: Salamanders, which have a fiery bite and are made of fire. Also, Ignibuses (Ignibi?) are massive dragons that breathe fire.
* FishPeople: Lacedons look like humanoid fish.
* FlamingSword: The Cinderfall Sword, which lights enemies on fire and can summon Cinders.
* Hellfire: The Behemoths shoot green fire with this name. Belphs also shoot deep red fire called Doomfire.
* LightEmUp: Wisps are elementals of light who are very powerful, but fortunately also very benevolent. Anything that comes into contact with them starts to glow.
* LizardFolk: Gekens, lizard people that spawn in the jungle.
* MagmaMan: Lobbers are giant Golem golems made of lava. In addition, Khalks are Magma Turtles, and Volcans are Lava Elementals.
* NonstandardCharacterDesign: To Minecraft as a whole - the mobs in this mod are far less blocky than anything else in Minecraft, which makes them stick out a fair amount. This can be downplayed with Lycanites Redux, a resource pack that makes the mobs more blocky.
* OrganDrops: While this applies to just about any Minecraft mob, certain monsters have a chance to drop a body part which can be used in the Equipment Forge to make special weapons.
* OurDragonsAreDifferent: Other than the Ignibus which is a fairly classic western dragon, the dragons in the game are quite unorthodox, like the remobra which are tiny flying serpent dragons that spit poison.
* Planimal: Arisaurs are plant-like dinosaurs. They drop meat, which is lampshaded by the bestiary and the tooltip of the raw meat.
* PlayingWithFire: Every Inferno mob that doesn't control lava controls fire.
* PoisonedWeapons: The Venom Axeblade, which poisons enemies and can summon Remobras.
* PoisonousPerson: Plenty. Most of them are swamp mobs, though the Tarantula is an exception.
* PowerOfTheVoid: One of the elements - there's even an elemental in the form of Spectres, which spawn close to bedrock and suck you towards themselves to attack.
* RockMonster: Geonachs are made of stone, and the Silex are made of lapis lazuli.
* SandWorm: Crusks are wormlike creatures that spawn in the desert.
* SatanicArchetype: Rahovart was likely intended to be one of these as the lord of demons and most powerful evil in the game.
* ScaryScorpions: Sutiramus are giant scorpions.
* ShoutOut:
** Many monsters in the Nether are straight out of VideoGame/Doom.
** The Amalgalich boss is the Hellbeast Red in all but name, personality, and size (it's no longer larger than Godzilla here but still massive enough). One of his attacks even involves trying to eat the player.
** The elementals of darkness are known as grues and have a high chance of spawning if you linger in pure darkness for too long.
* SummonMagic: One of the features of the mob available to the player - using a summoning staff will allow the player to summon certain mobs in their bestiary.
* SpidersAreScary: A fair number of creatures are spider-based, or at least look like it. Case in point, the Frostweavers, Tarantulas, and Eyewigs.
* UndergroundMonkey: Mobs have a chance of spawning in alternate versions, often gaining more health and sometimes with additional abilities.
* VideoGameCrueltyPunishment: One of the elementals are the elementals of order, shining warriors known as Aegises. They appear in villages and are peaceful... Unless you attack a villager or steal something from them. In which case they will all group up on you and try to tear you to shreds.
* WhenTreesAttack: Ents, which have a chance of appearing and attacking whenever you break a tree block. Also their stronger cousins the treants.
* WeakenedByTheLight: A number of creatures in the mod burst into flames when in the sunlight, but Epions take it a step further and explode when in sunlight.
