Answered Prayers is a VideoGame/YumeNikki fangame developed by a western developer named Klaufir. Like Yume Nikki, exploration and surrealism are prevalent features. But unlike Yume Nikki and most of its fangames, the game is notably LighterAndSofter, featuring minimal blood or gore and very few real horror elements.

You play as Fluorette, a young girl who has run away from home and is taking refuge from a large rainstorm inside an odd shrine. Praying at the altar allows her to enter a mystical Spirit Realm full of mythical beings and supernatural creatures.

The game is notably short, containing four areas and twelve effects (or Prayers). The first version was released in 2010 and the latest was released in 2013. The game was on hiatus for many years, but as of 2022 the author is currently working on a new update. It is available for download here.

!! Answered Prayers provides examples of
* ArtificialStupidity: The bloody-faced priestesses that represent the primary chasers don't have very good AI; they only chase you when you're directly in front of them and have a hard time going around corners.
* BlackoutBasement: The Black Caves. Even with the Light prayer you find in it, the paths are still dark and difficult to see.
* CallAHitPointASmeerp: The dream world is called the "Spirit World" and the effects are called "Prayers".
* DebugRoom: There was one accessible in version 0.02.5. where you could find all of the prayers, interact with a clone of Fluorette, and gain shortcuts to two worlds. The connection to it was removed in version 0.03, but the room is still in the game.
* GetOut: Finding all the effects makes a spirit appear in the nexus, who tells you to leave. That's the closest thing to an ending this game currently has.
* TheMaze: This game has multiple mazes, with the most notable being the Symbols Maze, a large chaser-filled maze evocative of VideoGame/YumeNikkis Hell.
* Retraux: Much like the original Yume Nikki having a Famicom-themed world, this game features a UsefulNotes/GameBoy-themed world.
* SceneryPorn: What the game lacks in horror it makes up for in visuals.
* ShoutOut:
** One of the prayers is named "Chromakey Dreamcoat".
** The Tentacle prayer used to be based on Manga/SquidGirl. However, it was changed due to the creator feeling like it was too obvious of a reference.
* UncomfortableElevatorMoment: There's one with a priestess who manages the elevator in the Apartments.
* UnderTheSea: From the Underwater Ship level, you can reach an ocean floor area that houses the Tentacle prayer.
* WaddlingHead: The Koraiyn prayer will transform you into a furry catlike head with feet as its only appendages. The same can be said for the NPC the prayer is based on, looking quite similar except that it's green and doesn't have Fluorette's features.
