11/16/2011: I just did my first ever trope launch for CulturalRebel, which I am a little excited and nervous about. I am certainly open to any suggestions of the trope being tweaked or fine-tuned, if necessary.
2
3I have, however, previously created several pages for PlayingWith and {{Laconic}}. I have also created quite a few pages for TearJerker -- specifically TearJerker.{{Music}}, which might soon become an index of its own (as the list is quite expanding).
4
5I also arranged most of the entries on TearJerker.{{Music}} and its related pages in alphabetical order, and managed to cull the main TearJerker.{{Music}} down by more than 50%. It used to be more than 600,000 characters long, and was causing all sorts of trouble -- but is now down to less than 300,000 characters.
6
7BTW, I did ''not'' create TearJerker.InsaneClownPosse -- which has significantly less entries than the others -- so please don't blame me for that one. Since I know nothing whatsoever about the group, I decided to just leave the page alone. So that's that.
8
9Anyway, it is true what people say about this website: it is addicting!! I'm probably not one of the most active contributors here -- but, as of lately, I do seem to be the primary contributor for TearJerker.{{Music}} and its related pages. For now, anyway -- but that could change.
10
11So long, for now.
12
131/28/2011: I now have the "first person" stuff removed from all the artist and genre pages for TearJerker.{{Music}} -- leaving me with just the TearJerker.{{Music}} and TearJerker.MusicInMedia pages, the latter of which I've been mostly leaving alone. The former might take a few days for me to complete, since it is quite long (but not nearly as long as it once was). Also, earlier this week, I have made TearJerker.Music into an index -- and cleaned up the main TearJerker page (someone else had proposed it), so now most of the works pages for TearJerker are indexed in the respective media TearJerker page (eg. TearJerker.AliceInChains in TearJerker.{{Music}} and TearJerker.BuffyTheVampireSlayer in TearJerker.LiveActionTV).
14
15At any rate, it feels good to be close to finishing up -- since there is a move to keep "this troper" natter out of even the {{YMMV}} pages. And, speaking of {{YMMV}}, there is now a move to get those entries off the main works pages to the respective {{YMMV}} page -- so I've also been helping out a little in that respect (and created a few {{YMMV}} pages, in the process).
16
17Off to get some rest, now.
18
191/31/2011: This is pretty much it, now. I have all "first person" natter now removed from all the pages in TearJerker.{{Music}}. I started to alphabetize the entries of TearJerker.MusicInMedia in alphabetical order of the work they appear it -- but I then decided to give up on that, since some of the entries are quite hard to sort. I have all the pages in that group on my Watch List, so that I can watch out for new entries. The two primary things I'm watching out for is 1) keep entries in alphabetical order (on the main TearJerker.{{Music}} and genre pages}, and 2) keep the pages free of first person natter. There are still some unsorted entries on TearJerker.{{Music}} -- as I was unsure of how to sort those entries. I'm hoping that someone will help out in that area. So that's that.
20
21One thing to look out for is that the list of musical artist pages on the TearJerker name space will probably increase. I don't like to start TearJerker pages for artists that have only a few entries -- but, as they expand, then I'll (if someone else doesn't beat me to it) will be moving entries for such artists to their own pages. So far, TearJerker.TheBeatles (one of the original four that I didn't start) seems to be the largest.
22
23In other news, TearJerker.{{Music}} does now clock in at under 250,000 characters -- so, while that page is still quite long, it's not anywhere near as bad as it once was.
24
25Time for a little break, now, I guess.
26
27October 28, 2011: Been a while, since I last updated this. Mostly, I've been working hard on Sandbox/WickNamespaceMigration and Sandbox/WickPtitleMigration. But, tonight, I actually did my second trope launch for LightFeminineAndDarkFeminine. So I'm pretty excited about that.
28
29Well, time to get back to troping -- although I suppose I should hit the hay, soon.
30
31March 4, 2012: Been awhile, since I last checked in. It looks like the third trope I launched, LightMasculineAndDarkMasculine, got renamed NobleMaleRoguishMale. But that's okay, since the new name is a lot more descriptive.
32
33I really went to town, last night, working more on splitting sections from TearJerker.{{Music}} and the various genre subcategories to their own artist pages - and there are now nearly a hundred of them. So that section has ''really'' expanded, within the last year. The original four were TearJerker.TheBeatles, TearJerker.ReginaSpektor, TearJerker.ToriAmos, and TearJerker.{{Radiohead}} - which someone else had created.
34
35I finished moving all the ptitle pages from the Tropers/ namespace to the non-ptitle variants - and made custom title requests for them. As such, we should be ''very'' close to being able to declare ptitles a defunct feature of TVTropes. The ptitle pages that have over ten inbounds cannot be cut, at this time - but, eventually, we'll be able to remove them all. Just gotta be patient, I guess.
36
37I guess my next task will to continue moving work pages off the Main/ namespace to their appropriate media namespace, but I'll probably just do them in spurts. And I am keeping on top of the {{Musicians}} index, to make sure that everything on the list is off the Main/ namespace.
38
39Off to take a little break, for now.
40
41April 19, 2012: The last few days have been busy for me. With the combined efforts of Tropers/EarlOfSandvich and myself, we managed to move all of the pages off of [=WebOriginal/=] to the new namespaces. That was a lot of work to do - although, thankfully, we only had a few hundred to do. Fifteen of the pages still need wicks moved, though. On and off, I've been participating in the Namespace Migration project - and I think we're about halfway done, now. I hope that, a year from now, the project will be close to complete.
42
43Also, I'm in favour of renaming [=HighOctaneNightmareFuel/=] to something like [=Scary/=] - to go along with Awesome/, Funny/, Heartwarming/, and [=TearJerker/=]. I just have a thing for consistency, I guess. I'm just hoping that we won't have to move the HONF pages ourselves - as we already have enough on our plate as it is, with moving works pages off of Main/.
44
45That's that, for now.
46
47July 21, 2012: Been awhile, since I last updated. [=HighOctaneNightmareFuel/=] is now officially a defunct namespace, as the scary moments are all not on [=NightmareFuel/=]. Even though the namespace migration part of the project is now done, there's still a bit of clean-up to do.
48
49From the looks of it, we are now over halfway done with the namespace migration project - which I still work on, here and there. We first started on the project in mid-April of last year, and we seem to be passed the halfway mark. So I'm predicting that we'll be finished before October of next year.
50
51I also work on splitting up TearJerker.{{Music}}, here and there. It's not anywhere near as bad as it used to be, two years ago - but I still think it could use some clean-up. Yet, I understand that we have many other project going on.
52
53Oh, yeah, and the ptitles. Other than the SelfDemonstrating page for Creator/BrianBlessed (which I hope can be resolved, somehow), all the ptitles have now been cut. There might still be some ptitle mark-up and ptitle links left on the wiki, but the vast majority of it has now been wiped away.
54
55That's that, for now.
