Hello. So, after spending about two years (give or take a throwaway post here or there) off the forum, I've decided I'm going to dip my toes into the waters 'round here again... and maybe play with a few sharks while I'm at it. I'll leave my personal details scarce, except to say that I'm interested in learning what the Tropers here have to say about the topics that pop up around here (not gonna lie, I'm probably going to spend most of my time in On Topic Conversations, but I seem to remember the other forums being fairly interesting as well). On with the Troping! Oh, and feel free to add any tropes if you can think of any relevant ones.

* CanadaEh
* TheCharmer
* TheConfidant: Tend to be this, or at least, I used to be...
* TheCynic: I tend to play this role a lot, although I don't really see myself as a cynic (See SlidingScaleOfIdealismVersusCynicism below).
* FormerTeenRebel
* [[FourTemperamentEnsemble Four Temperaments]]: Some kind of choleric-melancholic blend.
* GentlemanAndAScholar
* GentlemanSnarker: Aspire to be this.
* GothicHorror: Any recommendations would be most appreciated.
* IntelligenceEqualsIsolation: Well, the reality is a bit more complex than that...
* MagnificentBastard: I've had my moments.
* MiseryBuildsCharacter: Pain is the most effective teacher, bar none.
* MyersBriggs: [=INTJ=]
* PragmaticHero: I see myself as this...
* PragmaticVillainy: ...but definitely advocate this. Or rather, see it as unavoidable.
* PsychologicalThriller: Love these, haven't read enough. If you know of any good ones, feel free to recommend.
* RedOniBlueOni: Definitely more of a BlueOni.
* SerpentOfImmortality: One of my favorite symbols.
* SlidingScaleOfIdealismVersusCynicism: I actually zig-zag on this one; cynical on the personal level, optimistic when it comes to the big picture, cynical when it comes to utopian ideas, optimistic when we take reality into account. In short (ironically, on the longest post), I think humans can achieve big things, as long as we take our shortcomings into account and commit ourselves fully to being pragmatic and realistic.
* StepfordSmiler: Spent a bit of time as this. Okay, a lot of time...
