** The main theme in [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNp-Y5qUBs4 his Draven video]], where he voiced the 2 commentators named "Bobby Tortilla" and "Dyrone Tonk". [[spoiler:The video ends with them screaming at each other.]]
** In [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tXKc_DrOXc "Did He Ryzed?"]] he voices both himself and a few annoying kids in the background.
* AuthorsSavingThrow:
** Some have criticized Dunkey for giving takes on traditional [=RPGs=] and games with Japanese storytelling, since he has publicly stated that he generally dislikes their various traits, but reviews them anyway. In particular, his review of ''Octopath Traveler'' received such backlash. His videos on ''VideoGame/PokemonLetsGoPikachuAndLetsGoEevee'', in particular the ''Pikachu'' video, can be seen as caricatured exaggerations of Dunkey's criticisms of [=JRPGs=], as it reflects much of the criticism towards his points in the more serious ''Octopath'' video. In 2019, Dunkey also gave [[https://youtu.be/_tsFZ8F_qcY a mixed but overall positive review]] of ''VideoGame/DragonQuestXI''. In his "Best of 2019" video, he [[https://youtu.be/SzfmtGESBxw?t=437 lists several [=JRPGs=] he played that year]], most of which he enjoyed, and one of which (''VideoGame/{{EarthBound|1994}}'') even made it onto the list. The aforementioned ''Dragon Quest XI'' would go on to be named his 3rd favorite game he played in 2021.
** [[https://youtu.be/dVQcZa4O01A "Discussing Last of Us 2 with Youtube Comments"]] largely consists of rebuttals and TakeThatCritics responses to various Website/YouTube comments, but he also addresses controversial points and acknowledges some criticisms of the game as valid (such as characters being MadeOfIron and other [[ContrivedCoincidence contrivances]]).
** He received backlash for his withering review of ''VideoGame/DeathStranding''. He later made a video revisiting the game, in which he admits he had fun on follow-up playthroughs, and gives the game a more even-handed critique. He would go on to name it his seventh favorite game he played in 2021.
* ColbertBump: Occasionally. Comments expressed interest in buying ''Rust'' and ''VideoGame/BrothersATaleOfTwoSons'' after he made videos for them. Additionally, after his ''[[VideoGame/{{LISA}} LISA]]'' video was uploaded, the game quickly made it to the top sellers list on Steam.
** HardcoreHipHop group Naughty By Nature saw an increase in traffic on their Website/YouTube channel thanks to Dunkey's use of "Here Comes the Money" in some of his videos, most famously those related to ''VideoGame/{{Knack}}''.
** Steam user "IKON Co-Leader - Les Lions" saw a massive influx of comments on his steam page after he showed up in "Rocket League: Dunk House." The clan also suddenly turned into a mini-meme, and all of its Discussion threads are dunkey-related things. Even in-game, Dunkey fans will constantly troll IKON members (especially if they are losing) about Dunkey being the real leader, and how [unfortunate thing] wouldn't have happened if Les Lions was here."
** After he covered ''VideoGame/ZeroRanger'', it resulted in the game (up to this point mainly known in shmup circles) to get a lot of attention from people with people citing Dunkey introduced to the game.
** In an example of [[Administrivia/TropesAreTools Tropes Are Not Good]] Youtuber [[https://www.youtube.com/c/AnimalJayson AnimalJayson]] received much more attention after Dunkey featured a clip of his video "Dunkey is a Bad Critic" in the video "Game Critics (Part 2)"... which resulted in his videos getting dislike bombed and spammed with comments decrying Jayson for criticizing Dunkey. In spite of the fact Dunkey specifically asking his fans NOT to do this.
** Plenty of people who wouldn't be interested in a film like ''Film/{{Playtime}}'' were intrigued by Dunkey's video on the movie, and search rates for ways to watch the film went up exponentially. While the film was already popular in film circles before then, Dunkey's audience isn't the type to watch arthouse movies, so it was a massive boost to a new audience.
** While ''VideoGame/CrueltySquad'' was already slowly gaining traction for a few months before then, Dunkey's video on it helped explode in gaming circles, way more than it ever could've expected to with it's [[StylisticSuck insane game design choices.]]
* {{Corpsing}}: In [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfO1XhRob3c Karaoke Dunkey]], when he sings a song by Music/MichaelBuble, he interprets it as "Michael Bubble" and starts cracking up.
* CreatorBacklash: Dunkey is not fond of some of his earlier reviews, citing them as blowing surface-level stuff way out of proportion without really engaging with the game itself. Prominent examples of this include his old ''VideoGame/TheLastOfUs'' review where he pans the game as a generic zombie story (he would later join the more-or-less-universal consensus that it's one of the best video game stories ever made) and ''especially'' his video on ''VideoGame/Uncharted4AThiefsEnd'' where he essentially gives the game a 3 out of 5 because the climbing is boring in some sections. He would make in-depth rebuttal and follow-up videos for [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VglCnmYMaSc both]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VglCnmYMaSc games]] pointing out his previously flawed logic and questioning what the heck he was even thinking, as well as heaping praise that he feels he denied both games onto them, especially for subtler things he originally missed.
* FollowTheLeader: Ever since Dunkey garnered hundreds of thousands of subscribers, many Let's Players have attempted to clone his balls-to-the-wall style of humor for better or for worse. Interestingly, he has quite a number of high-profile fans from the ''VideoGame/DarkSouls'' community, some of which not only sneak in a few of his {{Catch Phrase}}s in their own videos on occasion but have also taken to emulating his [[BreathlessNonSequitur unique manner of speech]] and bizarre in-game antics.
* MilestoneCelebration:
** Dunkey made a dance party video for each 10,000 subs he received up until 60,000.
** He then made 100k and 200k videos.
** "Escape from Hell" was his 500k video.
** He also made 600k and 700k videos.
** He then made another dance party for when he hit the big million.
* WriterRevolt:
** Microsoft apparently paid Dunkey $700 as part of a deal to review four Microsoft games for the Xbox Live Summer of Arcade, starting with ''Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons''. When Dunkey asked what the guidelines were, he was told he could do whatever he wanted. [[HorribleJudgeOfCharacter Microsoft clearly did not know a thing about Dunkey]], as he proceeded to make an absolute mockery of the game and even spoil the ending without warning.[[note]]"[[spoiler:The little kid dies.]] The end."[[/note]] This lead to the video becoming unlisted, and eventually it got removed entirely. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MsTwk9X5es Fortunately, this channel managed to reupload the video]] for all to see. This eventually culminated into an [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeHjN4oWVfk entire video]] where Dunkey explains why Microsoft sucks, for more reasons than just the ''Brothers'' video removal.
