* ColbertBump: The game itself regained some of its popularity thanks to WebVideo/{{Caddicarus}} and [[WebVideo/{{Vinesauce}} Vinesauce Vinny]]. [[labelnote:Also]] For some people, the tutorial song was notable for being used in the infamous 2007 Website/{{YouTube}} [[UsefulNotes/FurryFandom furry]] video ''Clurds!'', which was also seen at the beginning of WebVideo/IHateEverything's ''I Hate Furries.''[[/labelnote]]
* CutSong: ''Rainbow'', a song that was intended to be in the game, was cut for unknown reasons and only made it to the 2020 vinyl record release. However, players can still burn the song to a blank CD and actually play it in-game.
* LateExportForYou: On October 17th, 2014, ''Vib-Ribbon'' became available in the US as a [=PS1=] Classic on the Platform/PlayStationNetwork, almost ''fifteen years'' after the game's original release.
* NoExportForYou: The sequels, ''Mojib Ribbon'' and ''Vib Ripple'', were never released outside of Japan.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** [[WordOfGod According to Masaya Matsuura]], ''Vib-Ribbon'' started out as an advertisement for the [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_A-Class#First_generation_(W168;_1997%E2%80%932004) 1997 Mercedes-Benz A-Class ([=A160=])]] and during the development, Vibri was meant to represent said subcompact car with headlights for eyes and bumping along a road to the music. The original concept got scrapped after the A-Class got criticized for its poor sustainability when involved in bad weather and being prone to rolling over ([[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oxoizC-yMew as the car was recalled after failing numerous safety tests]]).
** The game was going to feature a ''seventh track'' called "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctvdxiPJKH4 Rainbow]]". It ended up being DummiedOut for unknown reasons and only made it to the soundtrack's vinyl release.
** Deep within ''Vib-Ripple'''s files, there's an unused text for a language selection screen, which could imply that the game's overseas release was planned at some point before being ultimately axed. [[note]]It could function similar to the European release of ''Vib-Ribbon'' in addition to three new language options: "Portuguese", "Dutch" and "Korean".[[/note]]
