1* BoxOfficeBomb: Budget, $2,500,000-$3,000,000. Box office, $1,500,000-$2,668,000.
2* CaliforniaDoubling: Set in Sydney, filmed in England and California.
3* ChannelHop: The film was produced by Hitchcock's Transatlantic Pictures, but released by Creator/WarnerBros. After the film flopped at the box office, the bank took possession of the film, and it's now owned by CBS, who has licensed it to both Image Entertainment and Kino Lorber for home video.

5** Creator/AlfredHitchcock didn't care for the film. In fact, after it flopped, he was reluctant to make another drama film for years. He also regretted casting Creator/JosephCotten.
6** In his autobiography "Vanity Will Get You Somewhere", actor Creator/JosephCotten referred to this film as "Under Corny Crap". Supposedly he had also done so on set, invoking Creator/AlfredHitchcock's ire; intentionally or otherwise, the director did not use him again for six years.
7* ExecutiveMeddling: Creator/AlfredHitchcock intended this film to be a drama. But the publicity department released the posters of this film as if it belonged in the genres of "Mystery" and "Horror." One of the posters of this film read "Murder will Out" and "A Woman driven by the demons of hell!" So when the film was released, Alfred Hitchcock was severely criticized for the lack of thrilling moments in this film compared to his previous films.
8* WhatCouldHaveBeen: Creator/AlfredHitchcock originally wanted Creator/BurtLancaster for Sam Flusky, but he was deemed too expensive.
