* ActingForTwo: Creator/PaulWinchell as Clyde and Softy, Creator/DonMessick as Dum-Dum, Pockets, Snoozy and Zippy, and Creator/MelBlanc as Yak-Yak, Chuggaboom and the Bully Brothers.
* CowboyBebopAtHisComputer: Animation historian Jerry Beck claimed in his book ''The Hanna-Barbera Treasury'' that this series "featured the Ant Hill Mob as [Penelope's] chief rival". Probably never seen an episode before in his life (or watched ''WesternAnimation/WackyRaces'' instead).
** Jeff Lenburg's "Encyclopedia of Animated Cartoons" is just as guilty. The 1991 edition says that the show had Penelope competing in "international competition" with the Hooded Claw trying to stop her.
* ReferencedBy: "The Power of Love", by Music/FrankieGoesToHollywood, opens with the lines "I will protect you from The Hooded Claw/Keep the vampires from your door."
* UncreditedRole: In the "Voices" section of the end credits, Creator/PaulLynde is nowhere to be seen. This is because his agent recommended it not be listed (in this as well as ''WesternAnimation/TheCattanoogaCats'', where he voiced Mildew Wolf in the "It's the Wolf!" cartoons) as it would hurt his credibility. Even though everyone knew it was his voice to start with.
** Lynde was credited on-screen on ''WesternAnimation/WheresHuddles'' (as Claude Pertwee) and the 1973 film of ''Literature/CharlottesWeb'' (as Templeton the Rat).
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: An early sketch for the series featured Penelope's younger brother, Johnny Pitstop, who had Dick Dastardly and Muttley as his bodyguards. The latter two [[WesternAnimation/DastardlyAndMuttleyInTheirFlyingMachines already had their own show]], precluding them appearing (though the Hooded Claw did mention Dastardly in one episode). Another early idea for the series had Dastardly himself as the main villain in place of the Hooded Claw. Again, Dastardly and Muttley having their own series prevented this from happening, which is why the Hooded Claw is a SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute.
