1	* ApprovalOfGod: Creator/SuzanneCollins was the one who had Effie replace the character Fulvia in this film, loving Creator/ElizabethBanks's performance. In [[Literature/TheHungerGames the book]] Effie only appears briefly near the end, but Collins called the director and said "there's no way Effie can't be in the ''Mockingjay'' films".
2	* BillingDisplacement: Creator/JenaMalone as Johanna Mason in ''Part 1'' is billed above many characters who have ''way'' more screen time than she does. She essentially makes a glorified cameo at the end giving Katniss a quick smile, compared to characters like Beetee (who shows up often to discuss plans using his technological expertise), Cressida and her crewmembers (who stay with Katniss almost all the time to film the propos), or even CanonForeigner Egeria (who acts as Snow's primary adviser).
3	* CaliforniaDoubling: UsefulNotes/{{Atlanta}} continues to represent Panem, much like it did in ''Catching Fire''.

5	** Creator/JenniferLawrence didn't think much of her singing voice; she disliked "The Hanging Tree" as a result.

All of Peeta's interview segments were shot and edited before they shot the scenes where Katniss sees them, and they actually played the interviews for Jennifer and Liam Hemsworth during the takes to get the right emotional response from her.
13	** Jennifer Lawrence trolled Liam Hemsworth by only eating fish and foods with garlic before their kissing scenes, thus helping with the general awkwardness.

22	** Part 1 was going to open with a scene where Peeta would tell President Snow that he doesn't support the rebellion or Katniss's role in it (not knowing about the atrocities committed by Snow yet).
