1	* AuthorsSavingThrow: The developer, Quell, has been very open to adding more options to the game to make it easier, in response to criticisms about its punishing difficulty. The first major patch for the game added several highly-requested difficulty options, including making basic attacks use no energy, making all food consumable from the menu, and making the cooking minigame slower. They've also made many, many small tweaks as well. Additionally, it's been stated that [[spoiler:Bart ''not'' betraying you]] was included because [[spoiler:they weren't happy with how Billy's betrayal in the original Flash game came out of nowhere and made little sense]].
2	* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
3	** This game was originally going to be a sequel to the [[VideoGame/{{Phoenotopia}} original flash game]], called "Phoenotopia 2", before it was decided that not many buyers would know of the first game since the sequel was still planned to be released on Platform/NintendoSwitch and later Platform/{{Steam}}. Instead it was made into a reboot of the original game with the same overarching plot but some differences, most notably the ending.
4	** The sequel was still going to have Gail as the protagonist, however after the story was rebooted it's hinted by getting HundredPercentCompletion that if a sequel to ''Awakening'' was made, it would have [[HeroOfAnotherStory Kitt]] as the protagonist instead.
5	** Concept art of part of the cutscene that happens widway through the story shows Aella alongside Gail, Alex, Lisa, Thomas, Max, and Leo. This implies that her sidequest was either going to become mandatory to progress the game, or that she was going to return to Panselo after her sidequest and appear in the scene if you found enough Moonstones to visit Cosette and help her beforehand. In the final game, she doesn't return to Panselo until the ending, deciding to wait a bit longer after regaining her memory.
6	* WordOfGod: There was an interview in 2022 between a person who runs a blog about the game with guides, and the game's creator, which was published in 2023 and revealed a few facts:
7	** Fran is 26 years old.
8	** The reason why ''Awakening'' has a different ending to the original Flash game where [[spoiler:Gail is ''not'' abducted]] is because the developers didn't know if they'd get to make a sequel, so they decided to end the remake on a more positive note.
9	** Lisa and Alex are biological siblings.
10	** Gail's name was changed from Gale in the Flash game because the developer found out that the latter spelling [[GenderBlenderName was actually a boy's name]].
11	** [[spoiler:Ava]] did not die, but instead went into hiding. If a sequel is ever made, [[spoiler:Gail will hopefully get to meet her]].
