Context Trivia / MegaManX7

* ActingForTwo: Vanishing Gungaroo gets this in both languages. In Japanese, he shares a voice actress (Rumi Kasahara) with Alia. In the English dub, he instead shares a voice actress (Lenne Hardt) with Axl, which is very noticeable when bringing Axl into the boss fight at Tunnel Base.
* EndOfAnEra: The last ''VideoGame/MegaManX'' installment to feature Creator/ShowtaroMorikubo (who first took over in ''VideoGame/MegaManX5'') as the title character. As such, it's also the last ''X'' game where [[DoItYourselfThemeTune he lends his vocals to the soundtrack]], performing the ending theme "Lazy Mind."
* FollowTheLeader: Review outlets of the time incessantly lambasted ''[[VideoGame/MegaManX4 X4]]'', ''[[VideoGame/MegaManX5 X5]]'', and ''[[VideoGame/MegaManX6 X6]]'' for not following the VideoGame3DLeap trend of the time, despite being otherwise solid games (for the most part). Unfortunately, when Creator/{{Capcom}} finally decided to do something about it, the results were messy, landing ''X7'' as another video game victim of the transition to 3D.
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: Prior to the ''[[CompilationRerelease Legacy Collection]]'', ''X7'' was the only ''X'' game to never see a re-release on platforms such as the Nintendo Platform/VirtualConsole or Platform/PlayStationNetwork.
* PromotedFanboy: Probably because of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9wRxuZY_To his review of the game]] and the [[MemeticMutation memes]] it created, WebVideo/ProJared was invited as a guest to Capcom's 30th Anniversary celebration of the ''Franchise/MegaMan'' franchise.
* UrbanLegendOfZelda: An interview with Tatsuya Minami allegedly claimed there would be a two-player mode, which never made it into the game. However, this was more likely a mistranslation of Minami explaining how the player can control one of two characters in the same stage.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** The official ''X7'' website said Splash Warfly was planned to be an archerfish. However, archerfish don't look distinct enough for an interesting design, so they turned him into a flying fish that spits water lasers like an archerfish instead.
** On the back of the game's case, X can be seen in the highway of the opening stage. This is impossible in-game, implying he may have been playable earlier in the game during development. That or the screenshot was fabricated to resemble ''[[VideoGame/MegaManX1 X1]]'''s opening stage for customers (as that part of the intro stage [[NostalgiaLevel is the exact same level]], one of many {{Continuity Nod}}s to the original game and the SNES trilogy by proxy).
