* ApprovalOfGod: {{Invoked|Trope}}; Disney promoted this film as having been approved by ''WesternAnimation/LiloAndStitch'' directors/writers Creator/ChrisSanders and Creator/DeanDeBlois with a sticker on the DVD case claiming that they said it's "[a]n artistically stunning continuation of the original" and a behind-the-scenes video released to promote the film showing Sanders saying how close ''Lilo & Stitch 2'' is to his film.
* {{Blooper}}:
** The scene in which Stitch glitches out at the halau has a moment where Stitch eats a wooden chair that Moses holds in front of him for protection. However, the animation of the moment was messed up as Stitch and the chair were placed on the wrong layers, making it look like Stitch is eating air and the chair is just disintegrating for nothing.
** Briefly, during the family fun night scene, Stitch is drawn [[https://i1.wp.com/caps.pictures/200/5-lilo2/full/lilo-stitch2-disneyscreencaps.com-1889.jpg with five toes on his right foot]] instead of his normal four.
* BTeamSequel: Creator/ChrisSanders and Creator/DeanDeBlois, the original film's directing and writing duo, didn't return in a creative capacity for the sequel,[[note]]then again, they didn't do so for ''any'' of the sequels and spin-offs, barring [[ComicStrip/ComicZoneLiloAndStitch one comic strip]] that [=DeBlois=] contributed to[[/note]] though Sanders does reprise his role as Stitch.
* TheForeignSubtitle: In France, the film is titled ''Lilo & Stitch 2 : Hawai, nous avons un probleme!'' (''Lilo & Stitch 2: Hawaii, we have a problem!'')
* TheOriginalDarrin: Jason Scott Lee returned to voice David Kawena in this film; he was replaced by Creator/DeeBradleyBaker in the other sequel material.
* TheOtherDarrin:
** As stated on the work page, Creator/DakotaFanning filled in for Creator/DaveighChase here as the voice of Lilo, as Chase had other commitments (including having to do voice work for ''WesternAnimation/LiloAndStitchTheSeries'') that she couldn't get out of at the time of this film's production. This is the only ''Franchise/LiloAndStitch'' material in the original run of the franchise she wasn't a part of.
** Teresa, the wavy-haired girl in Mertle's posse who is renamed "Aleka" here, is voiced by Holliston Coleman (according to Website/IMDb) instead of Kali Whitehurst (from ''The Series'') or whoever voiced the character in the first film. Yuki, the Asian girl in the posse, is voiced by someone else (likely Creator/EmilyOsment, [[UnspecifiedRoleCredit who's only listed as an "additional voice"]], since all the other "additional voices" apart from her, Coleman, Jillian Henry (the voice of Elena, reprising her role from ''The Series''), and Creator/LilianaMumy were adults) instead of Lili Ishida (also from ''The Series'') or whoever was her first movie voice.
** For a non-acting example, Joel [=McNeely=] composes the film's score, replacing Music/AlanSilvestri from the original film.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: This film was meant to follow after ''WesternAnimation/TheJungleBook2'' as the next of the theatrical film sequels, but was released DirectToVideo due to ''The Jungle Book 2''[='=]s poor box office returns. The film following that one, ''WesternAnimation/TheLionKingOneAndAHalf'', was likewise given this treatment.
