* ActingForTwo:
** "Let Them Eat Pie" has Grey [=DeLisle=] Griffin voicing her 3 main characters of the series: Wonder Woman, Lois Lane, and Giganta.
** Creator/TaraStrong voices both halves of the Barbara Gordon/Harleen Quinzel best friend duo.
** Creator/KeithFerguson voices Robin, Batman, ''and'' Alfred.
** The episode "One Enchanted Evening" has Kari Wahlgren voicing both Zatanna and Enchantress.

** In "[=#AdventuresInBunnySitting=]", Creator/KariWahlgren, who voices Zatanna, also voices Tommy.
** Jessica [=McKenna=] voices Garth.
* AdoredByTheNetwork: Boomerang reliably ran reruns of this show until ''DC Super Hero Girls'' was removed from all platforms and sealed in the vaults as a tax write off. Unfortunately for fans, the new episodes premiered on Cartoon Network, which gave the show the opposite treatment and prevented anyone from ever seeing the second half of season two.
* CreatorDrivenSuccessor:
** To Lauren Faust's own ''WesternAnimation/SuperBestFriendsForever'', with the personalities of Batgirl, Supergirl, and Wonder Woman[[note]]Her personality taken from ''SBFF'''s Wonder Girl[[/note]] being recycled wholesale from that previous project.
** It's also more of a ''WesternAnimation/ThePowerPuffGirls'' reboot than the actual [[WesternAnimation/ThePowerPuffGirls2016 Powerpuff Girls reboot]].
* DawsonCasting: Once again, we have teenage characters voiced by adult voice actors.
* DevelopmentGag: In "#Frenemies, Part 2", Batgirl refers to the Super Hero Girls as her "[=SBFFs=]"—WesternAnimation/SuperBestFriendsForever.
* DistancedFromCurrentEvents: While the short aired on Cartoon Network UK in October 27, 2019, poor timing resulted in "[=#AbraKachoo=]" never being posted on the franchise's [=YouTube=] channel or airing as a "bumper" on Creator/{{Boomerang}} like the rest of the Super Shorts due to the plot of Zatanna's sneezes causing her magic powers to wreak havoc at school being seen as uncomfortably reminiscent of the UsefulNotes/COVID19Pandemic.
* EarlyBirdRelease:
** "[=#HateTriangle=]" was released on Cartoon Network On Demand on March 17, 2019 bundled with the previous episode, a week before its TV debut.

The fourth comes out on September 20, 2020, [[https://www.animationmagazine.net/tv/september-is-stacked-on-cn-with-pile-of-we-bare-bears-ben-10-more/ over]] '''''five''''' months later.
** A bunch of episodes came out on the Cartoon Network app on September 18, 2020, all before their official TV release. They are "[=#ItsComplicated=]" (September 20) , "[=#TheBirdAndTheBee=]" , "[=#FantasticBeastsAndHowToFindThem=]" (both September 27), "[=#AwesomeAuntAntiope=]" (December 19), and "[=#SchoolGhoul=]" (October 4).

* IronyAsSheIsCast: Poison Ivy and Jessica Cruz have a somewhat frosty dynamic, while Creator/CristinaMilizia and Creator/MyrnaVelasco are [[https://mobile.twitter.com/MiliziaCristina/status/1104487560556949504?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1104487560556949504&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fs9e.github.io%2Fiframe%2F2%2Ftwitter.min.html%231104487560556949504 best friends]] in real life.
* MeaningfulReleaseDate:
** The show officially premiered on March 8, 2019, which was International Women's Day, which was fitting for a show about girl power.
** "[=#Frenemies=]", featuring both the DC Super Hero Girls and Super Villain Girls, came out on October 11, 2019, also known as International Day Of The Girl.
** "[=#AwesomeAuntAntiope=]", featuring a special-guest voice-acting by Creator/LillyAspell, and "[=#TheFreshPrincessOfRenFaire=]", the finale episode of Season 1, both aired in the U.S. on December 2020 in tandem with the (delayed) worldwide release of ''Film/WonderWoman1984''.
* NonSingingVoice: Sendhil Ramamurthy voices Ra's Al Ghul normally, but Jason C. Miller voices him when singing.
* TheOtherDarrin:
** Tara Strong voices Batgirl here instead of Creator/MaeWhitman (original series, seasons 1-4) or Creator/AshlynSelich (Lego projects; original series starting in season 5)
** Nicole Sullivan voices Supergirl here [[https://mobile.twitter.com/user/status/1018925901071855616 instead]] of Anais Fairweather.
** Lois Lane is voiced by Creator/GreyDeLisle Griffin and not Alexis G. Zall.
** Production wise, Sam Riegel is the voice director instead of Colette Sunderman.
** Creator/FredTatasciore voices James Gordon instead of Creator/TomKenny.
** [[https://mobile.twitter.com/Fyre_flye/status/1091953577910722560 If]] this tweet from Lauren is any indication, then Creator/CristinaMilizia does not reprise the role of Jessica Cruz, with Creator/MyrnaVelasco taking on the role.
*** In turn, Cristina voices Poison Ivy despite Tara Strong already being in the cast.
** Creator/KimberlyBrooks voices Bumblebee instead of Teala Dunn.
** Creator/KariWahlgren [[https://mobile.twitter.com/Fyre_flye/status/1097945192009687041 voices]] Star Sapphire instead of Creator/JessicaDiCicco.
** Creator/CreeSummer voices Catwoman [[https://mobile.twitter.com/iamcreesummer/status/1096240391572123653 rather than]] Creator/CristinaPucelli, and voices Hippolyta instead of Julianne Grossman.
** Creator/PhilLaMarr, Creator/JasonSpisak, and Creator/YuriLowenthal voice Flash, Hal Jordan, and Steve Trevor instead of Creator/JoshKeaton.
** Creator/CassandraLeeMorris replaces Creator/RomiDames as Lena Luthor.
** Creator/TaraStrong voices [[https://mobile.twitter.com/Chevistian1/status/1112169335160737794 Cheetah]] instead of Creator/AshleyEckstein.
** The Latin American Spanish dub suffered a meta-cast shift, as the dub is done in Mexico, rather than either Venezuela or Chile like the 2015 series, a change made on the basis that ''WesternAnimation/SuperBestFriendsForever'' was also dubbed in Mexico.
** The Japanese dub of the 2015 series was also replaced entirely with a new one, and just like the former, it still is a one hell of a AllStarCast of many well-known {{Anime}} voice actors.
** Rina Hoshino voices Katana instead of Creator/StephanieSheh.
** Creator/GreyDeLisle Griffin voices Starfire instead of Creator/HyndenWalch, while [=LaMarr=] and Kari Wahlgren voice Cyborg and Beast Boy instead of Khary Payton and Greg Cipes.
** Sinestro is voiced by Creator/KeithFerguson instead of Creator/TomKenny.
** Creator/StephanieLemelin replaces Creator/NikaFutterman as Shiera Sanders (also known as Hawkgirl).
** In the Brazilian Portuguese dub, Bia Menezes will replace her late mother, Ana Lúcia Menezes, as Bumblebee starting with season 2.
* OutOfHolidayEpisode: "[=#ItsComplicated=]" is a Valentine's Day episode, yet it came out in September 2020.
* OutOfOrder:
** The episode "#Beeline" featured Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Giganta, Star Sapphire, and Livewire as all already part of a villain team as well as the Super Hero Girls being familiar with them when it first aired. Prior to this however, only Star Sapphire had been formally introduced as a villain in the show proper in [=#HateTriangle=]. Livewire, Giganta, and Catwoman make their debut as villains in "[=#ShockItToMe=]", "[=#SheMightBeGiant=]", and "[=#FightAtTheMuseum=]" respectively, all of which though aired after "#Beeline". Furthermore in "[=#FightAtTheMuseum=]", not only does Catwoman mention having just recently arrived in Metropolis from Gotham but at the end of the episode, she states she needs to find "new friends" after her encounter with the Super Hero Girls. "#Beeline" being out of order is ultimately showcased by the later aired two part episode "#Frenemies". Not only does "#Frenemies" mark Harleen just having moved to Metropolis but it also features the formation of the villain team.
** "[=#SheMightBeGiant=]" is chronologically where Bumblebee debuts her proper suit that's been upgraded from the one she wore in the premiere episodes of the show proper. This episode however aired after a number of episodes that featured Bumblebee already in her new suit.
** Lauren Faust released a ''continuity guide'' when the first season was put on Netflix. Episode five was apparently supposed to be episode thirteen and episode nine was supposed to be ''twenty six''! Season two was also shown out of order, with at least 15 and 17 being obviously swapped.
* PlayingAgainstType:
** When it comes to DC animation, Creator/WillFriedle is generally known for voicing heroes, such as [[WesternAnimation/BatmanTheBraveAndTheBold Blue Beetle]], [[WesternAnimation/BatmanUnlimitedAnimalInstincts Nightwing]], [[Anime/BatmanNinja Red Robin]], ComicBook/GreenArrow, and even [[WesternAnimation/BatmanBeyond Batman himself]]. Here, he voices Lex Luthor.
** A lot of the characters Creator/KimberlyBrooks voices are either tough like [[WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse Jasper]], authoritative like [[WesternAnimation/VoltronLegendaryDefender Allura]], or cool and laid back like [[WesternAnimation/DocMcStuffins Surfer Girl]]. Here, she voices Bumblebee, who's reworked into being shyer and reserved, unlike her other portrayals.
** Creator/JasonSpisak plays Kilowog, who is much bigger and burlier than most of the characters he's played, and has a deeper voice.
** Even ignoring that she was the previous voice of Jessica Cruz, Creator/CristinaMilizia typically voices good characters such as [[WesternAnimation/DocMcStuffins LaLa the koala]] and [[WesternAnimation/BunsenIsABeast Darcy]], unlike Poison Ivy here.
** Creator/SendhilRamamurthy is known for voicing Khensu as well as Cleo's father in ''WesternAnimation/CleopatraInSpace'', who are both allies to the main character Cleo. In this series, he voices Ra's Al Ghul.
* RecycledScript:
** The short that was shown in front of ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitansGoToTheMovies'', ''[=#TheLateBatsby=]'', shares its plot (Batgirl tries to meet up with her friends to fight a criminal, only to get there before them) with the ''WesternAnimation/SuperBestFriendsForever'' short "Time Waits for No Girl". The only significant differences are Wonder Woman replacing Wonder Girl, the addition of Jessica Cruz, Zatanna and Bumblebee among the heroines and the villain the girls gang up on being Mr. Freeze instead of Poison Ivy.
** The shorts sure like "comically getting messed up on the way to school picture day" as a plot. First there's "[=#StreetStyle=]" with Kara, "[=#PictureDaze=]" with Hal, "[=#CruzControl=]" with Jessica (and Garth), and then "[=#VanityInsanity=]" with Zatanna (and Oliver and maybe ''half of the entire school''). Did these shorts all happen on the same picture day or what?
** A class egg-assignment in the short "[=#ShellShock=]" gets expanded into the episode "[=#ScrambledEggs=]".
* RefittedForSequel: Okay, it's not a sequel, but the same idea applies. Back when Lauren tried turning ''Super Best Friends Forever'' into a [[https://mobile.twitter.com/Fyre_flye/status/1104614414722859008?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1104614414722859008&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fs9e.github.io%2Fiframe%2Ftwitter.min.html%231104614414722859008 series]], she imagined a somewhat frosty dynamic between Donna and Diana. She used this dynamic here, but with Diana and Hippolyta.
* RoleReprise:
** Creator/GreyDeLisle Griffin reprises the role of Wonder Woman from the web series, ''WesternAnimation/JLAAdventuresTrappedInTime'' and the ''WesternAnimation/LegoDCComicsSuperHeroes'' movies. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4TLDqpn_S0 She's also]] voicing Giganta (returning from the web series) and Lois Lane (the ''LEGO DC Super Hero Girls'' movies, ''WesternAnimation/JusticeLeagueDoom'', and the aforementioned JLA and Lego movies).
** Creator/TaraStrong reprises the role of Batgirl from ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries'', ''WesternAnimation/SuperBestFriendsForever'', ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheKillingJoke'', and ''WesternAnimation/TheNewBatmanAdventures'', and Raven from ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans'' and ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitansGo''. She's also reprising her role as Harley Quinn again, of whom she's been the main voice for since ''VideoGame/BatmanArkhamCity''.
** Nicole Sullivan reprises her role as ComicBook/{{Supergirl}} from ''Super Best Friends Forever''.
** Creator/KariWahlgren takes on the role of Zatanna, having previously been the character in the video game ''VideoGame/JusticeLeagueHeroes''. She also reprises the role of [[https://mobile.twitter.com/Fyre_flye/status/1097945192009687041 Star Sapphire]] from ''WesternAnimation/YoungJustice2010''. [[note]] Though she only voiced her as Carol Ferris in that series. [[/note]]
** Creator/DeeBradleyBaker reprises the respective roles of Ace and Krypto from ''WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague Unlimited'' and ''WesternAnimation/BatmanTheBraveAndTheBold''.
** Creator/KeithFerguson reprises the role of Alfred from ''VideoGame/LegoBatman 2: DC Super Heroes''.
** Creator/PhilLaMarr reprises the role of Cyborg from ''WesternAnimation/DCSuperFriends''.
** Creator/LillyAspell reprises her role as young Diana from ''Film/{{Wonder Woman|2017}}'' and ''Film/WonderWoman1984''.
** In the Latin American Spanish dub, Mexico-born Verania Ortiz reprise her role as Raven from ''Series/Titans2018''. making the first time a non-South American voice actress voice her animated counterpart. Likewise, Jessica Ángeles, Alejandro Orozco and Arturo Castañeda reprise their roles as Supergirl, Green Arrow and Flash respectively from the ''Series/{{Arrowverse}}'', while Creator/IdziDutkiewicz reprise his role as Batman from the videogames and ''WesternAnimation/JusticeLeagueDarkApokolipsWar''.
* ScheduleSlip:
** "[=#HousePest=]" and "[=#LeagueOfShadows=]" were supposed to air on May 10 and 17th (2020), respectively, but both were taken off the schedule for ''WesternAnimation/ThunderCatsRoar.'' They didn't air until September 20 and August 22 respectively.
** "[=#AwesomeAuntAntiope=]" was meant to air on September 28, 2020, but it was taken off and eventually came out on December 19, in tandem with the worldwide December release of ''Film/WonderWoman1984''.
* ScrewedByTheNetwork: While both WB and the official accounts give the show plenty of promotion, Cartoon Network has not done a good job with promoting it. The show suffered from continually shifting timeslots and, after episode 13, only aired when there was a new episode. Episode premiers were arbitrarily pushed back, shown out of order and there was nary a rerun in sight outside of Boomerang on the weekends. Not helping is that some episodes premiered in other countries months before the US and the second half of Season 2 has yet to air; the last new episode premiered in October 2021. This is in stark contrast to how fellow DC series ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitansGo'' gets treated on Cartoon Network which airs reruns daily and has advertisements for new episodes nearly every (if not just every) commercial break. Unfortunately, this would culminate in the show getting cancelled according to [[https://twitter.com/Fyre_flye/status/1555232679208947713 this tweet]] from Creator/LaurenFaust.
* ShortRunInPeru:
** "[=#LeagueOfShadows=]" aired in UK and Turkey and "[=#AwesomeAuntAntiope=]" aired in Italy before their U.S. broadcasts.
** Several of the Super Shorts were uploaded to Cartoon Network UK's Website/YouTube account ahead of their official premiere on the US ''DCSHG'' account; these shorts were not geo-fenced.
** "Fresh Princess Of Ren Faire" aired in places like Australia and New Zealand in October 2020 before airing in the US on December 27.
* TwoVoicesOneCharacter: In "[=#OneEnchantedEvening=]", June Moone was voiced by Ashley Spillers. When being possessed by Enchantress, she was voiced by Creator/KariWahlgren.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** Concept art shows Diana wearing glasses as a civilian.
** The concept for the show was adjusted from [[https://twitter.com/Fyre_flye/status/1306995351958614016?s=20 a similar]] [[https://twitter.com/Fyre_flye/status/1102373320463310848?s=20 pitch]] that Lauren Faust had made to Creator/MarvelComics, centering around ComicBook/KittyPryde and the ComicBook/NewMutants.
