* ActingForTwo:
** Various voice actors usually make other voices apart of the main characters. An example are Joe and Gus, two monster trucks whose are fans of Blaze, voiced by Pickle and Crusher's actors respectively.
** For Pickle's family, Creator/ChrisParnell as Ken and Sven, Creator/JudyGreer as Lilly and Baby Gherkin, and Creator/WendiMcLendonCovey as Milly and Frilly.
** For the Unicorns of the Forest: Madeleine Curry as Red and Blue, Oskar Engelhardt as Yellow and Indigo, and Kendall Nicole Yakshe as Orange and Green.
** Jess Harnell as Bunk the elephant and Blaze's dad.
** Kate Higgins as Starla and Skylar the falcon.
** In the Hebrew dub, both Blaze and Zeg are voiced by Eran Mor.
** In the Greek dub, both Starla and Gabby are voiced by Maria Zervou.
* AdoredByTheNetwork:
** It has been renewed for a fourth season, before the third season even aired. It also gets tons of merchandising, daily reruns on Nickelodeon, and is constantly cited as one of Creator/NickJr's most successful preschool properties. It even got its own Website/YouTube channel in January 2020. However, it eventually ended up being screwed as mentioned below.
** In August 23, 2021, the show got renewed for a seventh season, and it's currently one of Creator/NickJr's big five along with WesternAnimation/PAWPatrol, WesternAnimation/BubbleGuppies, WesternAnimation/BluesCluesAndYou, and The Adventures of Paddington.
* AllStarCast: The show uses plenty of well known voice actors such as Nolan North, Kate Higgins, Jeff Bennett, and Kevin Michael Richardson, and so forth. AJ's second voice actor, Caleel Harris, is known for voicing Clyde on WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse. Gabby is voiced by Angelina Wahler, also known as Fee from WesternAnimation/HarveyBeaks.
* Blooper: Even in later seasons, promotional artworks will always feature the characters in their pre-Season 2 appearances, with no signs of ArtEvolution.
* TheCastShowoff:
** Blaze gets to sing every episode, something Nolan North is really good at. Darington also sings his Catchphrase at least once every time he appears; his voice actor, Alexander Polinsky, is a professional singer.
** Series/AmericanIdol runner-up Justin Guarini gets to pull-off an astounding broadway number as Genie in "Blaze and the Magic Genie".
* DawsonCasting: Averted with the Monster Machines, who act and sound like adults and are voiced by adult actors, but played straight with AJ and Gabby, who are 8-9 years old and are voiced by adolescent children.
* DistancedFromCurrentEvents: The Season 5 finale "The Gold Medal Games" has yet to air in the US due to having similarities with the Olympic Games, which were postponed in 2020 because of the Coronavirus Pandemic.
* DuelingShows:
** With Disney Jr's WesternAnimation/MickeyAndTheRoadsterRacers, another show with racing as the main theme. Kim Duran even writes for both shows.
** Also with recent British Nick Jr. show WesternAnimation/RickyZoom, which also features sentient vehicles and racing, and the fact Ricky bears a rather uncanny resemblance to Blaze himself.
* FollowTheLeader: It takes many cues from the Franchise/Cars franchise. It also takes cues from Franchise/Transformers for the show's recent "robots" gimmick.
* HeAlsoDid:
** Creator/NolanNorth, the voice of Blaze, is more known for being Nathan Drake, Desmond Miles as well being the voice of ComicBook/Deadpool and Hal Jordan in various media.
** Creator/KateHiggins, the voice of Starla, also made a lot of female voices for other Action Girls like Sakura Haruno, Tina Armstrong, Izanami, Momiji, Sailor Mercury, and IF.
** Creator/KevinMichaelRichardson, the voice of Crusher also has made other villains/bad guys as Captain Gantu, Glorft Commander, the Joker, Jabba the Hutt and even the Main Man himself, Lobo.
** Creator/MelanieMinichino, who does the voice of Watts, is also the female announcer for Disney Junior and various advertisements for feminine-related products on Disney Channel.
** Stephanie Courtney, who voices Pickle's sister Milly, is best known for her portrayal as Flo.
* IronyAsSheIsCast: Some of the special guest stars are professional singers (Billy Ray Cyrus and Kelsea Ballerini, for example), yet they never get to sing a song in the show, with the only singers being Blaze and AJ. Blaze's friends also have never sung a full song with him, especially Darington, whose voice actor is Alexander Polinsky, a professional singer.
* MeaningfulReleaseDate:
** Each season has at least one episode premiere on Memorial Day: "Dragon Island Duel", "Race Car Superstar", "Animal Island" and "Robot Power". The latter three also mark the start of their respective special episode miniseries.
** "Snow Day Showdown" was released on the day of the Winter Solstice in the US.
** "The Trophy Chase" aired 18 years after 9/11.
** "The Gold Medal Games" is being released on the day of the opening ceremonies for the Tokyo Summer Olympics.
* NonSingingVoice:
** Whenever it came to a musical segment in the episode, AJ's singing was done by Jacquez Swanigan from Seasons 1 to 2, and by Reed Shannon from Season 3 to 5. Averted with Nolan North, who does his own singing for Blaze.
** Blaze's dad is voiced by Creator/JessHarnell, but his singing was done by James Richard.
* TheOtherDarrin:
** In early season 2, Caleel Harris replaces Dusan Brown as AJ due to the latter going through puberty. Then in Season 4, Ramone Hamilton took over due to Harris undergoing puberty as well.
** Late into Season 3, Molly Jackson replaces Angelina Wahler as Gabby's voice.
** Blackbelt was voiced by Dempsey Pappion instead of DJ Khaled in "Ninja Soup".
** Spanish dub: Gabby was voiced by Creator/MelanieHenriquez in Season 1, then by Creator/LeishaMedina from Season 2 onwards.
* OutOfOrder:
** "Tow Truck Tough", which was produced before the mid-season 3 ArtEvolution, was aired after the "Wild Wheels" miniseries, which marked the start of such.
** The Season 1 finale didn't air until a year after the second season ended; the Season 2 finale had the same treatment. Seasons 4 and 5 also had one episode left to air when the newer seasons after each began.
* RenewedBeforePremiere: The show was renewed for a fourth season before the third season premiered.
* ScheduleSlip: When the show first premiered, it had several new episodes air for three days over the next two weeks; however, since then, the show's followed a pattern of airing one to three new episodes per month. It also often skips one month over.
* ScrewedByTheNetwork: Though the show is generally popular in ways, it falls into this now and then. The amount of times it runs daily has gotten fewer later into the show's run, and as of now, it only airs on Nick Jr. channel about two to six times a day, whereas it only airs once on Nick Jr. on Nick (shared with Ryan's Mystery Playdate) in favor of consecutive reruns of PAW Patrol, which became the only show aired on the block (aside from single reruns of one other show) throughout the summer of 2019. Thankfully, it is the only pre-2019 first-run show other than PAW Patrol and the UnCancelled WesternAnimation/BubbleGuppies that has not been moved to the Nick Jr. channel for new episodes.
* SeriesHiatus: Since Season 1 ended, the show has had long hiatuses over the summer months, to let other Nick Jr. shows air more episodes. The first was from June 4 to September 25, 2015. The second was from June 2 to September 27, 2016. The third was from May 31 to September 26, 2017. The fourth was from June 26 to September 14, 2018. The fifth was from June 12 to August 16, 2019.
* UnspecifiedRoleCredit: Much like with WesternAnimation/BubbleGuppies the end credits don't list which actor voices which character, with the only credited actors being the celebrity guest stars after the opening theme.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen:
** "The Bouncing Bull Racetrack" and "Catch That Cake!" were originally set to air March 28 and March 30, 2017, respectively, but a few days later, the premiere dates were reversed.
** "Breaking the Ice" was originally scheduled for May 30, 2018, but was delayed two weeks to June 12.
** "Ninja Soup" suffered this the worst; it was delayed twice. It was first scheduled for February 22, 2019, but it was replaced with the PAW Patrol episode "Pups Save The Jungle Penguins/Pups Save A Freighter" in favor of the Nickelodeon President's Day marathon the week before. Then it was scheduled for May 17 but got taken off again one week before airing, in favor of a new episode of Ryan's Mystery Playdate. It finally aired on September 9, alongside the premiere of Ricky Zoom.
** "The Gold Medal Games" was held back several times in the US until it premieres in 2021 in honor of the Tokyo Olympics.
