Context Trivia / LupinIIITheWomanCalledFujikoMine

Go To

* The series marks the first time either Creator/MichelleRuff or Creator/RichardEpcar lent their voices to a Texas production.
* BTeamSequel: It was the first ''Lupin III'' series to be directed by Sayo Yamamoto, written by Mari Okada and composed by Naruyoshi Kikuchi.
* CrossRegionalVoiceActing: The English dub's cast used voice actors from the UsefulNotes/DFWMetroplex area. Fujiko and Zenigata were respectively voiced by UsefulNotes/LosAngeles-based Creator/MichelleRuff and Creator/RichardEpcar.
* DirectedByCastMember: As with most of Funimation's ''Lupin III'' productions, Creator/ChristopherSabat was the English dub's ADR director as well as Daisuke Jigen's voice actor.
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: Rescued. Creator/{{Funimation}}'s license with the series expired in August of 2018, meaning the series went out of print for a period of time. In 2020, Creator/DiscotekMedia announced that they had acquired the license to the series with a reissue scheduled for 2021, bringing the series out of limbo.
* MilestoneCelebration: This series premiered in 2012, the 45th anniversary of the ''Lupin III'' manga series.
* TheOtherDarrin:
** As mentioned on the main page, the Japanese voice actors for Fujiko, Goemon, and Zenigata (Creator/MiyukiSawashiro, Creator/DaisukeNamikawa, and Creator/KoichiYamadera) were recent replacements for the longtime original actors (Eiko Masuyama, Makio Inoue, and Creator/GoroNaya) who had been retired by TMS. Both Naya and Inoue have since died.
** On the English side too, in a way. Funimation's actors for Fujiko and Zenigata (Meredith [=McCoy=] and Philip Wilburn) had retired, so actors from the "Red Jacket" cast were used instead -- Creator/MichelleRuff reprised Fujiko, and Creator/RichardEpcar took over for Zenigata.
*** Zenigata's an especially notable case. They were trying to find voice actors already familiar with the franchise. While having Ruff take up Fujiko again was a fairly simple matter, most of Zenigata's old voice actors weren't even in the industry anymore, either having retired or moved on to other things. Christopher Sabat, who voices Jigen in all of Funimation's ''Lupin'' dubs, admitted that it felt a bit odd calling up Richard Epcar, seeing how he played Jigen in "Red Jacket" (and directed it). Fortunately, Epcar likes the franchise and was happy to be involved in any capacity.
** In the Italian dub, Alessandro D'Errico voiced Daisuke Jigen instead of Sandro Pellegrini, who died in 2013. D'Errico has since become the ''de facto'' voice of Jigen.
* RoleReprise: In the English dub:
** Creator/SonnyStrait, Creator/ChristopherSabat and Creator/MikeMcFarland reprise their respective roles of Arsene Lupin III, Daisuke Jigen and Goemon Ishikawa XIII from the Funimation releases.
** Creator/MichelleRuff reprises her role as Fujiko Mine from the "Red Jacket" series.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: The production crew behind Creator/{{Toonami}} on Creator/AdultSwim were eyeing this show as a potential replacement for ''Anime/MichikoAndHatchin'', also directed by Sayo Yamamoto. However, because there was too much nudity that would've had to be edited out, they instead went for ''Anime/SamuraiChamploo''.
