1	* BonusEpisode: The 25th and 26th episodes of the TV anime due to scheduling conflicts -- but they were released as a special {{OVA}}, "From the Lovely Angels with Love", immediately before the classic {{OVA}} series.
2	* CompletelyDifferentTitle: "Dan et Danny" in France; "Kate & Julie" in Italy -- because Kei sounds like "Chè" ("What?") in Italian.
3	* CreatorBacklash: Sue Ulu felt her own performance as Kei in ''Dirty Pair Flash'' suffered from the long recording sessions, and agreed with the fans that panned her performance. Nonetheless, she said she enjoyed working on the show itself, and was happy that she got to record together with Kim Sevier (Yuri).
4	* DevelopmentHell: The anime series was stuck in conceptual stage long enough that when it finally went into production, it was late enough into the year that episodes 25 and 26 would have conflicted with major Christmas and New Year programs, so they were dropped. They would be released later as [=OVAs=].
5	* DuelingDubs: All three movies were dubbed from 1993-1994 by Streamline Pictures with Lara Cody as Kei and Creator/WendeeLee as Yuri. They were redubbed by ADV Films (who had previously dubbed the [=OVAs=] and ''Flash'') in 2003 with Pamela Lauer Jones as Kei (reprising her role from the 1999 OVA series dub) and Allison Sumrall as Yuri.
6	* ForeignRescore: The sequel OVA series had one for the English dub, by Scott Van Zen, because the isolated music and effects tracks were believed lost at the time. The 2024 Blu-ray release from Nozomi Entertainment restores the original score to the dub while including Van Zen's as a bonus alternate track.
7	* FountainOfExpies: The two title characters, who compose of a TomboyAndGirlyGirl pair, the tomboy usually having short reddish hair (though it can be long or just lighter colored hair in general as well) and the girly girl having long, more feminine hair (and like with the tomboy, can also be inverted as having short, yet dark colored hair). Three of the best-known pairs, that are often thought of as being the best-known direct expies of the two, are:

13	** The reason the series took so long to finally receive an English dub was because the isolated music and effects tracks were believed lost until they were discovered around 2021.
14	* MissingEpisode: The original TV series didn't receive an English-language release in any official form until Nozomi released it on subtitled DVD in 2010.
15	* OneHitWonder: Pamela Lauer Jones, who voiced Kei in ADV's dub of the [=OVAs=] and later movie redubs, has no other voice credits outside bit roles and additional voices in two other shows. When she was confirmed to be reprising Kei for the 2023 TV series dub, she acknowledged that she was "coming out of retirement" for the project. Despite this, she hasn't appeared in any other new anime dubs.
16	* TheOriginalDarrin: After being replaced by Allison Sumrall for ADV's redub of the films, Creator/JessicaCalvello returned to voice Yuri for Nozomi Entertainment's dub of the TV series.

When ADV redubbed the films, Yuri was voiced by Allison Sumrall since Calvello had moved to New York. Calvello reprised the role in Nozomi's 2023 dub of the TV series.
22	* QueerCharacterQueerActor: In the English dub, Joanca is voiced by Nina Sumter. Both are transgender women.
23	* ReferencedBy: As a result of the numerous shout-outs to the original series, the producers of ''Series/StarTrekTheNextGeneration'' sneaked in a few references to the Pair. For instance in "Conspiracy", a [[https://web.archive.org/web/20151117175021/http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/memoryalpha/images/3/3e/Dytallix_B%2C_lcars.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20120726015448&path-prefix=en graphic]] of Dytallix B has what looks like an upside down silhouette of Kei and another of Yuri[[note]]as well as what looks like the continent of '''UsefulNotes/{{Australia}}''' also turned upside down, but that's another story[[/note]]. More obviously, the Exocomps from "[[Recap/StarTrekTheNextGenerationS6E9TheQualityOfLife The Quality of Life]]" were blatantly inspired by Nanmo. And there was "Operation Lovely Angel" and the element Keiyurium.
24	* RoleReprise: In the 2023 TV series' English dub, Pamela Lauer and Creator/JessicaCalvello reprised their respective roles as Kei and Yuri from the 1999 OVA series dub. Pam had previously reprised Kei for the 2003 redubs of the three movies.
25	* ScheduleSlip: The Kickstarter for the English dub of the original TV series was funded in October 2021, but it hasn't come out yet due to endless delays involving COVID [[note]]The studio had shut down their physical location because of it, forcing the owner to operate out of his home.[[/note]], travel [[note]]Both lead actresses live in Texas while the dub is recorded in NY.[[/note]], schedules [[note]]The retired Pam Lauer had to wait to take time off from her day job.[[/note]], and the show's large episodic cast, among other reasons. Two episodes of the dub were briefly released to backers in October 2023 to tide them over.
26	* WhatCouldHaveBeen: David Williams[[note]]co-founder of ADV, ADR director of their ''Dirty Pair'' dubs, and superfan of the franchise[[/note]] wanted to dub the original TV series at ADV, but the missing isolated music and effects tracks made this too complicated. When Nozomi Entertainment licensed the series in 2010, he offered to dub it at Seraphim Digital (now Sentai Studios) in Houston, but Nozomi declined. Nozomi themselves would eventually dub the series in 2022-2023, but instead at Headline Studios in New York.
