Part of an attempt to cash-in on the popularity of anime and manga, Ame-Comi Girls is a line of collectible figures produced by Kotobukiya, featuring various female characters from Creator/DCComics redesigned in an Animesque anime-inspired title. Initially starting off as a line of figures, an Ame-Comi Girls comic book series has since been launched by DC. The series is written by Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray, and features art from several artists, most notably Amanda Conner.

!!Ame-Comi Girls (the comic) provides examples of the following tropes:

* ActionDressRip: Power Girl rips her dress off before her fight with Star Sapphire.
* AdaptationNameChange: Shayera Thal/Hol is Shayera Thath.
* AdaptationalHeroism: The Female Furies follow Big Barda.
* AdaptationalUgliness: The Guardians of the Universe are changed from short blue-skinned HumanAliens in the original comics, to insectoids with many tentacles here.
* AlternateUniverse: The series takes place outside the regular continuity, presumably somewhere in the DC Multiverse.
* Animesque: All of the figures and subsequently the costumes themselves, were designed with an anime influence.
* BadassAdorable: Many of the characters are cute teenaged superheroines and villains. Hawkgirl is introduced being berated by her stepmother for having just single-handedly beaten up six boys who are five "cycles" older than her, and it appears she's unhurt.
* BoobsAndButtPose
* BrokenBird: Duela Dent became a villain after her gangster father died in her arms following a shoot-out with the police.
* CanonForeigner: Sinastra, the female counterpart of Sinestro.
* CatGirl: Cheetah
* CompositeCharacter:
** ComicBook/TheJoker and Harvey Dent are made into one person; Smilin' Jack "The Joker" Dent, the father of Duela Dent. Judging by his FinalSpeech to his daughter, Jack also had a bad habit of leaving riddles for the cops, bringing to mind ComicBook/TheRiddler.
** Due to the non-existence of male superheroes in the setting, most of the heroines take cues from their Spear Counterparts. For instance, Jade takes Hal Jordan's place as the appointed Green Lantern for Sector 2814, with Carol Ferris' origin as Star Sapphire borrowing the element from Hal Jordan's origin of having the artifact bestowed by a dying alien.
** Black Manta is a combination of Black Manta and the Ocean Master -- like Ocean Master, she's the bitter Atlantean sibling of Atlantis' ruler, and she’s called Black Manta and wears a black suit with a silver helmet. (Though this was part of her outfit at the Atlantean version of prison, and she was facially scarred, hence the helmet.)
** Like Desaad, Granny Goodness is obsessed with destroying (and probably enjoys torturing) her enemies.
** Hawkgirl's costume resembles Kendra Saunders'.
* DecompositeCharacter: Green Lantern Hal Jordan has attributes of himself split between this continuity's versions of Jade and Carol Ferris, with the former being the appointed Green Lantern of Sector 2814 and the latter becoming Star Sapphire by being given her power-enabling artifact by a dying Zamaron in a similar manner to how Hal Jordan was given the ring of his predecessor Abin Sur before he died.
* DisabledInTheAdaptation: This continuity's Jade is blind unlike her standard counterpart.
* EyepatchOfPower: Big Barda and Nautica
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: Duela got her long red hair cut when she was attacked by the bats (they got tangled in it) and dyed afterwards to it's green shade (the color of life, envy and jealousy).
* Expy: This version of Brainiac is similar to the Borg Queen.
* FantasticVoyagePlot: Inside Comicbook/Supergirl.
* GadgeteerGenius: Most of ComicBook/Batgirl's gadgets were created by Steel.
* GenderFlip: Toyed with. Whilst the series features a world populated solely by female superheroes, it's notable that only a handful of them are actual gender-flipped characters, including Sinastra and the Black Flash. Many of the others exist in the main DCU with some slight adjustments, or are based on Elseworlds characters, such as Carrie Kelly, based on the Robin of the DKR universe.
* GenkiGirl: The Flash.
* GlasgowGrin: Likely as a nod to the Joker's appearance from Film/TheDarkKnight, Duela Dent has a smile permanently carved on her face. When she was young she was attack by a colony of bats that bit at her cheeks.
* GreenSkinnedSpaceBabe: Brainiac
* HalfHumanHybrid: Mera, like Aquaman in the mainstream comics.
* TheHighQueen: Mera, queen of Atlantis.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: Nautica pierce her BoomStick through Mera. She manage to break herself free.
* InNameOnly: Some of the characters. For instance, Jade goes from being the daughter of the Golden Age Franchise/GreenLantern to a blind Chinese teenager. She ends up being chosen as the new Green Lantern of Earth, rather than being born with her powers like the original Jade.
* InsufferableGenius: Steel to an extent. She's somewhat condescending to the other heroines and initially refuses to join forces with Robin due to seeing her problems as "insignificant".
* IronicName: The Manhunters are female in design.
* LegionOfDoom: Duela Dent and her team of villainesses, consisting of ComicBook/Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and ComicBook/HarleyQuinn.
* MaleGaze: The comics show a lot of ass shots of the female characters.
* MerchandiseDriven: As was mentioned up top, the comics are based on the toy line.
* MuggedForDisguise: How Franchise/WonderWoman gains her first costume in the series. After being grounded by her mother, Diana knocks out a fellow Amazon and steals her armor in order to join in a massive battle.
* MythologyGag: When Jade (who happens to be blind) becomes a Green Lantern, a version of the Green Lantern oath appears that is partially derived from the oath used by the blind Green Lantern Rot Lop Fan (who believes himself to instead be an F-Sharp Bell because of his species' lack of sight preventing him from understanding anything to do with light or color).
* OfCorsetsSexy: Duela Dent's SteamPunk costume features a corset.
* Patricide / Matricide: Nautica's crimes against Mera:
-->Mera: I watched as you tried to kill father, but mother jumped in and both died!\
Nautica/Black Manta: Your Father. NOT MINE! My Father died defending Atlantis from the Nameless Legion! Your Father was a pathetic fisherman who took advantage of a grieving wife!
* RaceLift:
** In the mainstream DC Universe, Jade is white and the daughter of the GoldenAge Franchise/GreenLantern. In the Ame-Comi universe, she's a Chinese teenager. Her brother Obsidian also becomes Chinese, obviously.
** Black Manta is a black human male in mainstream DC continuity, but becomes a white Atlantean woman to fit the role of being Mera's evil sister.
** White Canary seems to be Asian or Hispanic with black hair, instead of a Caucasian needing a blonde wig as Black Canary.
* RobotGirl: The Manhunters.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: Mera opens up trade negotiations between Atlantis and the surface world in order to bring peace.
-->"As long as I am Queen of Atlantis there will be peace."
* SexyJester: Duela Dent
* ShoutOut: The Asian villainess calls herself "The Flying Guillotine".
* ShowgirlSkirt: Duela Dent can be seen wearing one in the page image.
* ShownTheirWork: The writers have done a lot of research to dig up female characters connected to the male counterparts being replaced by women; for example, Alanna Strange, Adam Strange's love interest, serves as Adam's counterpart here.
* Sidekick: Robin to Batgirl.
* SpacePirate: The Ame-Comi version of Big Barda is a space pirate. And so are the Female Furies.
* Stripperific: Easily describes most of the redesigned costumes.
* SuperScream: Like her template Black Canary, who has a super empowered scream, White Canary does too. To help her out, Steel gives her a collar based on Batgirl's Sonar to help modulate her volume and frequencies enough to have a normal conversation. When she can talk normally for the first time without havoc, Canary's very grateful indeed.
* TentacleRope: Poison Ivy can summon vines to restrain her opponents.
* ThatWomanIsDead:
-->Mera: Nautica, is it really you?\
Nautica: That's a dead girl's name. You can call me Black Manta!
* TomboyAndGirlyGirl: Big Barda and Miss Miracle. They also appear to be a couple.
* WickedStepmother: Shayera's step-mother.
* WorldOfActionGirls: All superheroes and supervillains are female.
