Right after crash landing on Mars, you see Kashima bleeding out right in front of you after saying the aforementioned line, Yetide getting shot right after dismounting the dropship, Gator's HeroicSacrifice shielding you from a gunship fire, Griffin's LastStand against an entire squadron of [[MechaMooks SDF C6s]], Mac's HeroicSacrifice to destroy the C6 deployment pods, and Ethan's self-destruct to destroy the core (which, to make matters even worse, the player is forced to personally execute, in [[AndNowForSomeoneCompletelyDifferent the only sequence in the game in which Ethan is playable]]).
