1	* For starters, the protagonist's name is [[Franchise/BackToTheFuture Marty]]. He's got brown hair similar to that of his namesake. More obviously, he also has a [[Film/BackToTheFuturePartII pink hoverboard]].
2	* Commander Hood and his entire organization are {{Captain Ersatz}}es of [[Franchise/GIJoe Commander Cobra and... COBRA]].
3	** Guess what that means for the heroic group opposing them... Sgt. Johnson.
4	* Likewise, the Botchangers are Franchise/{{Transformers}}. The Botformer doll even uses a knockoff of the famous transformation sound effect when Marty transforms.
5	* One recurring character is [[Franchise/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles a yellow-jumpsuited reporter named May.]]
6	* The Wizard is heavily inspired by ''Film/TheWizard'' - he wields a [[UsefulNotes/NintendoEntertainmentSystem Power Glove]] like Lucas, and eventually quotes the infamous "It's so bad" line. In addition, once you first use your magic binder, he quotes a Nintendo slogan from the era by declaring "Now you're playing with power!"
7	* The glove is a massive reference to Music/MichaelJackson; using it causes Marty to moonwalk to the enemy, then hit them while shouting like Michael.
8	* Marty's school has two transfer students that are essentially Franchise/CareBears with the proportions of actual bears. In addition, a pseudo-Care Bear plush is an item; it lets Marty perform a CareBearStare.
9	* In the bathrooms at the school, there are posters featuring [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woodsy_Owl Woodsy Owl]], with a peculiar variant of his slogan:

11	* Using the Floppy Disk to finish off an enemy prompts their sprite to turn into a [=BSOD=], with a fanfare that deliberately resembles one from 90's versions of UsefulNotes/MicrosoftWindows.
12	* The game opens with a predetermined boss fight with the BigBad which preceded by the line "enough talk, have at you!" a reference to the memetic opening of ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaSymphonyOfTheNight''.
13	* Benjamin and Nimajneb, the bosses of episode 2, have fighting stances clearly based off of [[Franchise/StreetFighter Ryu/Ken]]. Compounding this, losing to them changes the usual text to "You were K.O.ed". Their names are also a reference to [[Franchise/GIJoe Tomax and Xamot from G.I. Joe]].
14	* Episode 3 starts off with a knockoff of [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McGruff_the_Crime_Dog McGruff the Crime Dog]] named [[Creator/ShiaLaBeouf LaBeouf]]. His slogan is "[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Just_Say_No Just say no]]nonononono to drugs!", referencing the actor's tendency to drop [[RapidFireNo Rapid-Fire Nos.]]
15	* A man in a trash can in episode 3 declares [[VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaI "It's a secret to everybody!"]]
16	* In episode 2, one of the kinds of posters on the walls is that of a rainbow with "[[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic Friendship Is Magic]]" under it.
17	* A couple of businesses in chapter 3 have names like "[[Creator/TomCruise Tom's Cruises]]" (they even have a slogan saying "The ''Film/TopGun''s of travel"), "[[Music/KennyLoggins Kenny Log-Ins Cyber Cafe]]", "[[ComicBook/FantasticFour Read Richard]]'s Books", and "[[Creator/JohnCandy John's Candy]]". There's also an [[Franchise/EvilDead S-Mart]].
18	* The local [=McDonald=]'s {{Expy}} is called [[Music/RickAstley [=RcAstley=]'s]]. Their slogan is "Never Gonna Give Us Up".

48	* In episode 5, [=Labeouf=] The Crime Dog says that an air traffic controller told him [[Film/{{Airplane}} he picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue]].
49	* In the Jean Claude Van Dam is T-Shirts with "[[Film/BackToTheFuture1 Save The Clock Tower]]" written on them.
