''The Wedge'' was an Australian sketch show created by Ian [=McFadyen=] and produced by Network Ten. It ran for two seasons, airing 2006 and 2007.

''The Wedge'' was a typical Australian sketch comedy similar to ''Series/FastForward'' or ''The Comedy Company.'' The major difference was that nearly all the sketches took place in the same town, the fictitious suburb of Wedgedale, so the transition from sketch to sketch often involved a reference to the previous one.

The most popular series of sketches involved the scandal-prone athlete Mark Warey, whose public apologies for his latest "[[{{Malaproper}} indecent]]" would invariably make the situation worse. The Mark Warey character was featured in his own SpinOff; the {{Mockumentary}} ''Mark Loves Sharon.''

%%* CueCardPause: A feature of Mark Warey's apologies.
%%* DiggingYourselfDeeper: A hallmark of Mark Warey's apologies.
* FlexibilityEqualsSexAbility: A sketch had Mark Warey showing photos on his mobile phone to his manager, who advises him to delete each one. The final photo has the phone [[HeadTiltinglyKinky turned on its side]], and the manager pauses before requesting a copy.
-->'''Manager:''' How does she--
-->'''Mark:''' Gymnast.
* HeadTiltinglyKinky: A sketch had Mark Warey showing photos on his mobile phone to his manager, who advises him to delete each one. The final photo has the phone turned on its side, and the manager pauses before requesting a copy.
-->'''Manager:''' How does she--
-->'''Mark:''' Gymnast.
* HippieTeacher: Art Cooney. He is of the "Call me Art" mould, and gets zero respect from his pupils.
* HotScoop: Sandra Sultry, a parody of real-life current affairs presenter Sandra Sully.
* {{Malaproper}}: Mark Warey. A RunningGag was him holding a press conference to apologise for the latest "indecent" he had been involved in (rather than 'incident'), before he proceeded to mangle even more words he was unfamiliar with during his actual apology.
%%* OperatorFromIndia
* RhetoricalQuestionBlunder: One Mark Wary sketch features his manager asking "How could Mark possibly have impregnated three women at the same time?" Mark, sitting next to him, unhelpfully answers "Daylight Savings".
