3----
4
5* Manga/BeautyAndTheBeastOfParadiseLost is a Grimmification darker take on the original fairy tale, and its two main characters have a noticeable BeastAndBeauty dynamic. It draws some inspiration from other fairy tales as well.
6* Anime/Belle2021 takes very clear influence from the Disney adaptation of Beauty and the Beast in its main characters and style (with Belle herself being designed by veteran Disney animator and character designer Jin Kim), including a recreation of the ballroom dance. It even includes a scene where the Dragon yells at Belle to get out of his castle before crying and covering his face with one hand, with the camera shot and character body language being almost exactly like the Beast's in the Disney film.
7* Manga/CrayonShinChan has a FracturedFairyTale spoof based on the story, in which Shin-Chan and his andromorphic pig sidekick, Buriburizaemon, are recruited by the prince to rescue a princess from the dreaded beast, only to discover from the princess that they've been deceived. Their employer is actually an EvilPrince (foreshadowed earlier on when the prince tells them, "You can't judge a book by it's cover") who cursed the princess instead, and the beast is actually friendly. Shin-Chan managed to defeat the prince, and expects the beast to turn back to normal, but alas, instead the princess then turns into a she-beast, her true form, much to Shin Chan and Buriburizaemon's confusion.

Katrina then declares that she is going to marry a princess when she grows up.

60** In the Nerd's review of Ghostbusters, while going through his collection of Franchise/Ghostbusters action figures, he comes across a figure of Belle, which he tosses aside when he realizes it isn't his.

65* Dorkly Bits: In "If Bowser Was a Disney Fan", Bowser tells Peach that he kidnapped her so she'd eventually fall in love with him despite him being a hideous monster, like Belle did with Beast. When Peach tells Bowser she doubts that'll happen, Bowser reveals that he has some living furniture of sorts, namely a toilet possessed by a Boo (the Boo itself quits after people use him). Bowser also compares Mario to Gaston, due to both characters being burly guys with black hair and weird loser sidekicks (Mario also rage quits due to losing his Tanooki suit). When Bowser tells Peach that he's secretly a handsome prince with a heart of gold, Peach points out that he made his children command airships and get beaten by Mario. In the end, Bowser dresses himself as Beast and one of his Koopa Troopas as Mrs. Potts, only to find out that Peach has left. Just as Bowser considers dressing the Koopa Troopa in Belle's yellow ball gown, Peach defeats him, and she and the Koopa Troopa leave, with the latter complaining to the former that sometimes Bowser makes him wear Jasmine's red costume.

67* WebAnimation/HowItShouldHaveEnded provides two alternate endings to the film. In the first, the Beast willingly lets Belle invite Maurice into his castle as a guest, and Belle agrees to it -- seeing as the town thinks they're crazy, and how she sang a song about how she wants more than just it. In the second, the Beast's DisneyDeath is averted; he returns to a human form but dies from the stab wound Gaston gave him since the Enchantress's curse does not undo puncture wounds. During the closing credits, Lumiere sings a song to the tune of "Be Our Guest" about UsefulNotes/StockholmSyndrome.

75* WebVideo/Phelous has become known for his reviews of (badly made) adaptations of "Beauty and the Beast", inevitably drawing comparisons to the Disney version.
