!!Episode Tropes:
* FishOutOfWater: Michael feels out of place during his brief role as a salesman, being out of date with how things are handled in sales now and the working conditions alongside the others unbearable. Because of that, combined with Jim just much preferring the greater money-making opportunities provided for sales people, they both agree to switch places.
* GroinAttack: Downplayed. Jo's dogs seem to love Andy's crotch, but they don't hurt him. Plus Jo tells him to take it as a compliment.
* HoistByTheirOwnPetard: Andy decides to send out Valentine's Day cards to everybody so nobody would be left out when Erin got one. However, he accidentally gave a romantic one to Kelly, making the latter think that he likes her romantically.
* PyrrhicVictory: At least for Dwight. While he's more than happy to see Jim out of the manager position, it means he's back to being the latter's prank victim.
* ShoutOut: Ryan suggests psychologically torturing Jim like in the movie {{Franchise/Saw}}, only for Dwight to turn it down for being an idiotic plan.
-->'''Ryan''': I mean, we don't kill him, obviously.
* StatusQuoIsGod: At the end of the episode, Jim goes back to being a salesman, and Michael remains the lone branch manager.
