6	* BadDate: Apparently Eclipsa and Globgor first date was very awkward, Globgor not being used to vegetables at the time. When Globgor admits that, he wonders why she decided to continue their relationship after it, and Eclipsa admits that she had already grown to like him.
7	* BaitAndSwitch: When Globgor wonders if he and Eclipsa are in his mind right now, there's a [[PlayedForDrama dramatic]] close up of his face. It looks as though he's not going to take the answer very well.... But when Eclipsa answers "yes", he merely points out "That's creepy, Boo", as though entering someone's mind was simply a bad habit.
8	* BewareTheMindReader: Both Star and Globgor point out that Eclipsa's mind-entering spell is creepy.
9	* BlackComedy: Globgor seems to have a rather dark sense of humor, usually involving him eating or at least inflicting some harm towards mewmans, but he repeatedly insists that he is just kidding and he doesn't do those sort of things anymore. Eclipsa is only partially convinced.
10	* ColdTurkeysAreEverywhere: Globgor makes several jokes about eating the various mewmans that would normally bother him, only to clarify that he was joking. His tone shows that he does miss the taste of mewman a little bit.
11	* DisproportionateRetribution: When Globgor sees that the picnic he set up for him and Eclipsa was gone, he flies off the handle and assumes that the miners from a local mine stole it, grows to giant size and tries to grab one... only to pull out a massive gem, subverting the trope entirely when he admits that he knew that the entire date was just a dream he was having with Eclipsa transmitting into his mind.
12	* {{Foreshadowing}}: When Globgor "angrily" voices that he blames the mewman miners for stealing the picnic, watch his expression carefully. He's smiling whilst saying this, cluing in that he's just pulling a joke.
13	* FreezeFrameBonus: The CPS: Crystal Pulverizing Spell page is entirely legible, and looks identical to its appearance in ''Literature/TheMagicBookOfSpells''. Notably [[ChekhovsGun Eclipsa's ears being newly pierced]] are individual steps of the spell.
14	* AGlitchInTheMatrix: Globgor started catching on that the date was occurring inside his mind by the total absence of mewmans -- then, more glaringly, he stared seeing ''fictional characters'' he made up when he was a kid.

16	** Star calls Eclipsa out on her stealing the remains of the Book of Spells from her closet and betraying her trust. Eclipsa, too sad about the state of things, doesn't even put up a fight, even though Star knew that she was looking for the book and chose not to tell her about it, specifically because she didn't trust Eclipsa.
17	** Star thinks the ability to invade someone's mind is "creepy", yet she often uses the All-Seeing Eye, a spying spell made specifically to invade one's privacy, whenever it's convenient for her.
18	** Star scolds Eclipsa for not caring what her people think of her, even though a part of Star's growth as a princess and future queen had been about [[Recap/StarVsTheForcesOfEvilS2E3MrCandleCares becoming her own kind of ruler and doing things her own way]] while [[Recap/StarVsTheForcesOfEvilS2E40FaceTheMusic being true to herself and doing what feels right to her even if others don't agree]].
19	* HypocriteHasAPoint: Though Star lied about the book piece, Eclipsa really did violate Star's trust in this episode: she read Star's mind without permission, stole from her room, and was planning to break her promise to keep Globgor imprisoned, only stopping because Globgor himself insisted against it.
20	* MoralityChain: Eclipsa would've readily gone through with releasing Globgor, had not Globgor ''himself'' (telepathically) told her that now wouldn't be a good time to let him loose.
21	* NowDoItAgainBackwards: The steps of the Crystal Pulverizing Spell are in two halves, with the latter steps performed in reverse order to the former, beginning and ending with having a cockerel crow.
22	* ShoulderTeammate: Globgor uses his size-changing abilities to first make himself big enough to carry Eclipsa on his shoulder, then small enough to be carried on her shoulder.
23	* {{Sizeshifter}}: Although already mentioned on supplemental materials, this is the first episode where Globgor shows the power to change size at will.
24	* SoProudOfYou: Globgor thinks Meteora crawling on the ceiling is cute. Her ''vomiting'' while she does this fills him with pride.
25	* SpotTheThread: Globgor knew from the start that his date with Eclipsa was an illusion because there were no other mewmans around. PlayedForLaughs when he reveals that he also spotted his imaginary hero Banana Hat Muscle Whale, who came (not from Mewni history like Eclipsa assumes) but from a story he made up as a child.
26	* TomatoSurprise: A double fakeout -- when Star discovers that the remaining piece of the book of spells is missing, the scene cuts to Eclipsa who then goes on a date with Globgor, implying that she has already freed him. Then when they go outside, Butterfly Castle can be seen intact in the distance, making it look like a flashback. However, towards the end of the date, it's revealed that Eclipsa was using a spell to project herself into Globgor's mind and was about to free him, only for him to tell her it's not the right time yet.
27	* VocalDissonance: Zig-zagged. While at a normal size, Globgor's voice sounds much more gentle than you would expect. However, when he's bigger and angrier, he does sound more monstrous, complete with a VoiceOfTheLegion.
28	* WhamLine: Towards the end of the episode, Globgor brings a ruby to Eclipsa, who admires it. He does too, then casually adds "Too bad it isn't real." Eclipsa confirms this by asking just as casually "How long have you known?"
29	* WholeEpisodeFlashback: Subverted. It appears that Eclipsa's date with Globgor is a flashback, but towards the end, it turns out she was actually projecting herself into his mind in the present day.
30	* TheWorldIsNotReady: Globgor agrees to stay imprisoned for the time being until Mewmans are ready to accept him.
