3	* AttentionWhore: Jefferson accuses Anissa of this, Anissa retorts with accsuing him of being [[YoureJustJealous jealous]].
4	* {{Blackmail}}: Odell ensures Jefferson's compliance by threatening to arrest his daughters and experimenting on them.
5	* BlatantLies: Odell sees right through Jefferson's excuses, knowing that he assisted in the breakout and warns him never to do that again.
6	* TheBusCameBack: Lowry returns.
7	* CategoryTraitor: One of the rebels calls Henderson an Uncle Tom, which is ironic, since he then helps Jefferson and Anissa to break them free.
8	* EveryoneHasStandards: Principal Lowry had previously run a zero tolerance policy at the school and had no problem with expelling students for minor infractions. But even he protests the ASA marching in and detaining students on flimsy evidence.
9	* GetOut: Anissa throws Jefferson out of her place during their argument.
10	* InstantlyProvenWrong: While debating with her classmates over the occupation, Jen sticks up for the ASA, arguing that they are peacekeepers helping to keep the population of Freeland safe. This is interrupted by a group of ASA thugs marching in to drag Tavon out of the classroom on suspicion of being a meta, administering a beating to Lowry in the process.

12	* InternalReveal: Jefferson learns about the UndergroundRailroad Anissa, Gambi and Reverend Holt have been running.
13	* ItsPersonal: Odell is very pissed at the rebels stealing his trucks. He even calls them "vermin" that needs to be exterminated.
14	* KickTheDog: After Lowry was knocked down, a soldier pushes him to the floor when he tried to get up.
15	* KickedUpstairs: The ASA gave Jefferson's classes to a colleague and made him guidance counselor. He now has to work less and gets more money, but he absolutely hates it.
16	* ManipulativeBastard: Odell is at hist "best" again. He not only further manipulated Jennifer into becoming a ChildSoldier for him, he is also revealed to have hooked Lynn on Green Light to ensure her productivity.
17	* MeetTheInLaws: Grace meets Jefferson for the first time and has a nervous meltdown due to an argument between him and Anissa.
18	* NecessaryEvil: Odell claims to be this, showing Jennifer footage of Markovian war crimes.
19	* OneManArmy: Khalil takes out a group of gang bangers easily and in a few seconds.
20	* RippedFromTheHeadlines: Jennifer and her classmates discuss the ethics of interventionism and also mention current conflicts like Turkey invading Syria or Russia occupying Ukraine.
21	* SmugSnake: Major Grey just ''oozes'' of smug superiority.
22	* SoftSpokenSadist: Khalil's new personality is this, as he never once raises his voice while threatening people with torture and death.
23	* ToBeLawfulOrGood: Henderson decides to be good, assisting the heroes in breaking out a group of people arrested by the ASA.
24	* TookALevelInKindness: Lowry, sticking his neck out for Tavon, who gets arrested by the ASA and even taking a blow to the nose for his troubles.
25	* TranquilFury: Khalil, when dealing with the two treacherous soldiers.
26	* VillainousValor: Sinzell, the boss of the gang bangers stealing from the ASA, faces Khalil one-on-one even after seeing him tear through his men (which ends badly for him, but still).
27	* WhatTheHellHero: Anissa and Jefferson hand it out to each other, during an argument over Anissa's work as Blackbird.
