Thanks to Magic Man's shenanigans, Jake finds himself transported to an alien, yet familiar, yellow world.
----
* CastingGag: The entire episode was likely written as an excuse to make a WesternAnimation/Futurama reunion. Jake's "old friend" Goose is voiced by Creator/BillyWest, who played opposite to Jake's VA in Futurama (West played Fry, among other characters, while [=DiMaggio=] voiced Bender the robot -- and other characters). The Mayor and Dr. Adamkinson are also voiced by West, and they reference Futurama characters Zapp Brannigan and Professor Farnsworth. Creator/TressMacNeille (who also did voicework on Futurama, among other shows) voices a literal and figurative urchin, referencing her role as orphan robot Tinny Tim, and Dr. Adamkinson's dad, referencing her role as Mom of Mom's Friendly Robot Company.
* CosmicHorrorStory: Jake gets sucked into himself, and becomes the creator deity of his own world. It's hypothesized that Jake leaving would cause the apocalypse. Unfortunately, the one who left to get him tribute dies upon seeing how "hideous" and alien Finn looks comparatively, and the story ends with Jake leaving, and the entire world dying as a result. Yep, sounds like a kid friendly one.
* DreamApocalypse: The world was not entirely a dream, as it did physically exist inside of Jake, but when he decided to leave we can see the Jakeworld melting away as his psychic field's grip on the world weakens.
* GoMadFromTheRevelation: Dr. Adamkinson breaks down crying and dissolves into Jake upon seeing Finn.
* Homage: The episode is one to WesternAnimation/Futurama, not just because Creator/JohnDiMaggio gets to voice act with Billy West, Tom Kenny, and Tress [=MacNeille=] again, but also because of the aesthetic and science themes. By all accounts, the episode was most likely written as an excuse to have an impromptu Futurama reunion.
* HumansAreCthulhu: When the old scientist enters the Land of Ooo, He is horrified at the sight of Finn, who is a massive being compared to him. Finn was even eating spaghetti at the time, with the noodles hanging from his mouth making him look reminiscent of Cthulhu. Or, since this episode is one big Futurama homage, Zoidberg.
* IceCreamKoan: Right before he sedates Jake, Magic Man says in a sing-song tone "The waffle doll shall fall, lest you eat the yellow dough."There is a waffle doll in the Jake world, and it does fall in a Jakequake (stomach rumbling) caused by Jake not eating any noodles with Finn. But it certainly does seem like gibberish.
* InstantSedation: Magic Man only needs to give a tiny dose of sedative using a bug-size needle to knock Jake out.
* IWantYouToMeetAnOldFriendOfMine: Goose introduces himself as an old friend of Jake, not that Jake recognizes him. Goose is voiced by Creator/BillyWest, who acted with Jake's voice actor Creator/JohnDiMaggio in WesternAnimation/Futurama.
* LivingDream: All the inhabitants of Jake world are part of his dream made manifest by his own flesh.
* SingleTear: Jake cries while mourning the loss of his "friend", Goose.
* TrappedInAnotherWorld: Thanks to Magic Man, Jake gets literally sucked into his own body and enters a yellow world made entirely of himself.
