!!Tropes
* AmbiguousSituation: It's implied but not confirmed that Crowley Body Surfed into a nearby rat to avoid being killed by Lucifer.
* AnyOneCanDie: Some fans were shipping Sam and Eileen, bolstered by the fact that she was a hunter, a Men of Letters legacy, and had been featured in multiple episodes, so it was disappointing when she was killed in the cold opening like a random extra of the week.
* AteHisGun: Mary tries to do this to avoid being brainwashed by the BMOL, but Ketch stops her.
* BluffTheEavesdropper: When Dean finds the bug under the table, he and Sam use it to lure the BMOL into an ambush.
* Brainwashed: Mary is brainwashed into being an assassin for the Brits, thanks largely to Lady Toni.
* BriefAccentImitation: Lucifer briefly puts on a posh British accent while taunting Crowley.
* CharacterDeath: Eileen Leahy and Crowley, although the latter may have found an escape hatch.
* DirtyCoward: Crowley gloats about his superiority over Lucifer, only to begin groveling the moment the tables are turned. And when that doesn't work, he quickly makes a run for it.
* DownerEnding: Mary's lost almost all of her will, the brothers are sealed into the bunker, AntiVillain Crowley seems to be dead, and Lucifer runs free.
* EvilIsNotAToy: Crowley starts talking about using Lucifer as a weapon, starting with Dr. Hess. It's then that he finds out Lucifer is the one who controls him now.
* GunsAkimbo: Ketch wields two guns while he's sealing Sam, Dean, and Toni in the bunker.
* Hellhound: Ketch uses a hellhound to kill Eileen and we later find out the hellhound was provided by Crowley.
* Hypocrite: For all their anti-monster rhetoric, it's revealed that the British Men of Letter have a backroom deal with Crowley.
* IBangedYourMom: Dean and Sam are not happy to find out Ketch slept with Mary and it was "the best sex he ever had".
* IKnowYoureInThereSomewhereFight: Dean attempts to get through to Mary when she's holding a gun on him and Sam. It doesn't work, although she shows some disturbance in the car with Ketch.
* ISurrenderSuckers: Finding themselves outnumbered by the BMOL, Sam pretends to surrender, then grabs Toni as a HumanShield, while Dean shoots another mook OffhandBackhand.
* KickTheDog: There was absolutely no reason for Toni to tell Sam and Dean that Mary slept with Ketch, other than it seemed to amuse her.
* LiteraryAllusionTitle: The episode is titled about the film Film/TheresSomethingAboutMary.
* ThePurge: The Men of Letters are now actively hunting down and eliminating the American hunters.
* PreAssKickingOneLiner: Just before Lucifer tosses Crowley around.
-->Lucifer: Eight ball, corner pocket.
* ReverseThePolarity: Lucifer's helper manages to do this with the spell giving Crowley control of him, now giving Lucifer control of him.
* TakeThat: When Toni is crowing about eliminating the American hunters, she says that they're going to be "repealed and replaced", a term often used by the Republican party to summarize their plan to get rid of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, also known as "Obamacare."
* ThatWasNotADream: The initial hope that Mary's killing Rick was a bad dream or hallucination is undone by her having a scar on her hand from where he sliced her with a broken bottle.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: Ketch leaves Toni behind to die with the Winchesters.
