2	An alien entity plots to take over the world by infecting everyone with a hive mind. After the aliens have taken over Smallville, Supergirl finds herself in the middle of this conspiracy. Now she and Superman must find a way to stop these aliens before they manage to take over the world.

6	* BatmanGrabsAGun: This is the first time that Superman is willing to kill.
7	* BigBrotherInstinct: Superman comes the minute that Kara informs him that a force named Unity tried to assimilate her, and got Martha and Jonathan. He comes to Kara's rescue when Unity ambushes her in the hospital.
8	* BrickJoke: Kara leaves her bus because she is annoyed at a couple debating about whether the vegetable fields are rutabagas or turnips. In the episode's ending, Martha and Jonathan also start this exact same debate.
9	* TheCityVsTheCountry: Kara's main issue is that she wants to live the big city life rather than being at the farm with her adopted parents. She at least goes to visit Clark.
10	* ComicallyMissingThePoint: When the annoying couple asks Kara whether the vegetable fields are rutabagas and turnips, Kara decides to get off the bus. They assume she went to check, and were presumably perplexed that the bus left without her.

12	* EvilDetectingDog: Er, cat. When Kara gets back to the farm, Streaky emerges from hiding to happily greet her, but he immediately freaks in the presence of Jonathan and Martha.
13	* IgnoredEpiphany: Before boarding the bus for Metropolis, Kara bumps into the Preacher. She feels there's something ''off'' about him but otherwise doesn't dwell on it, which she later [[ItsAllMyFault kicks herself]] for.
14	* ItsAllMyFault: Supergirl feels this situation could've been avoided if she had been in Smallville instead of Metropolis. When Superman tries to convince her otherwise, she says she saw the Preacher's arrival into town and didn't bother to check him out, all so that she could get to the big city.

16	* NotEvenHuman: The Preacher who brings people to The Unity. He seems to be of the same alien species, or a separate extension of the same individual.
