The Light helps Bedlam stage a coup in Markovia in an attempt to discredit the heroes once and for all.
----
!!Tropes:
* BaitAndSwitch: Immediately after discussing Tara's trial at the Hague, Brion says he doesn't want to see "her". When convinced to reconsider, we see that it is Dr. Jace instead.
* BittersweetEnding: The season ends a simultaneous uplifting and tragic note. On the bitter side, Brion has fully fallen victim to HeWhoFightsMonsters and is an UnwittingPawn to the Light because of the machinations of its newest member and the alliance between the Light and Apokolips is still going strong. On the sweet side, Lex Luthor has had his VillainWithGoodPublicity status torn down and been forced to resign as the Secretary General, Troia is up to replace him, Terra has fully thrown off the Shadows' conditioning and gets to redeem herself with the Outsiders, the Anti-Light come clean to the entirety of the League and their affiliates and redesign themselves to a much healthier paradigm, and public relations towards metahumans are taking a big step forward because of Conner's actions.
* BookEnds: The Team and Outsiders return to Markovia, which is where the first mission of the season [[WhereItAllBegan started]].
* BrickJoke: Over the credits, Lobo's severed pinkie finger finally grows into a fully-formed homunculus of Lobo. He turns and grins at the camera ominously, as if teasing a future plot... only for Lobo to squish him entirely, then light the remains on fire.
* CallBack: Bedlam's reaction to Superboy (He angrily says "You!", to which Superboy responds "Yeah. Me.") Shows that Bedlam has NOT forgotten the defeat Superboy inflicted on him.
* DareToBeBadass: Black Lightning's acceptance speech is this, telling the League that it's time to stop fighting fire with fire and not use the methods of their enemies and dares them to do better than hiding secrets because they want to protect someone from said secrets.
* ExactWords: Bedlam defiantly tells Brion that he will never stop as long he draws breath. Brion believes him... then suffocates him with lava.
* FaceHeelTurn: Brion fully falls to his anger, kicks out his brother and takes over as king of Markovia.
* FallenHero: Black Lightning lampshades in his grand speech how many villains started out as heroes, before becoming misguided and losing their most moral principles, like how the Anti-Light briefly did. He even gives examples including Vandal Savage, Black Adam, Ra's Al Ghul and, as of now, Geo-Force.
* FoodEnd: The season ends with the main characters having a private party at a diner.
* InternalReveal:
** Tara's association with Slade is revealed, though Artemis and the Team had deduced that long before they even rescued her.
** Nightwing reveals the existence of his and Batman's secret organization to the League at large.
** Superboy publicly introduces himself as a living example of Lex Luthor's corrupt actions.
** Forager reveals himself as an alien to his classmates.
* KickTheDog: Bedlam cruelly mocks Brion and Tara's orphan status when HE was the one who orphaned them.
* KnowWhenToFoldThem: Bedlam chooses to run rather than face Superboy again.
* LivingLieDetector: Batman was able to tell that Slade was lying about Tara washing out of the Shadows back in "Exceptional Human Beings" by reading his lip movements.
* NotBrainwashed: While Artemis believes Tara's evil actions including killing were caused by brainwashing and manipulation from the League of Shadows, Tara denies she was ever brainwashed and all of her actions were entirely her own doing. Of course, Artemis means brainwashing in the real-world way, not the scifi way.
* NotHisSled: Tara is talked down from betraying the heroes while her brother Brion is the one going to the dark side and seizing control of Markovia, a notable reversal from the comics, in which Terra's most famous arc, 'The Judas Contract' involves her infiltrating the Teen Titans, betraying them for Slade, and then betraying Slade, before dying in a heroic sacrifice.
* ReturningTheWeddingRing: Subverted. M'gann takes off her engagement ring and gives it back to Conner but they quickly reconcile.
* SequelHook: The waitress serving the heroes at Bibbo's diner is wearing a ComicBook/LegionOfSuperHeroes ring, pointing to the Legion getting involved in the story very soon.
* SparedByTheAdaptation: Unlike her comic and even her ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans2003'' and ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitansTheJudasContract'' counterparts, Terra comes out of this alive and well.
* TheStinger: Lobo's severed pinky has finished growing into a tiny Lobo that laughs... only to be smashed into paste by Lobo's boot. Lobo then tosses his cigar onto what's left, burning it for good measure.
* TakeThat: Yet another one towards Donald Trump via Lex Luthor. When Black Lightning brings forth evidence of Luthor's lies and dealings in SuperHumanTrafficking, Luthor denies it by dismissing it as "fake news".
* WeCanRuleTogether: Two separate example, given in short succession. After killing Baron Bedlam and declaring himself king, usurping his twin brother, Brion asks Tara to join him, offering to forgive her crimes. Tara refuses, in part in loyalty to Gregor but also feeling she must face punishment. Brion then asks Violet to join him, almost name-dropping this trope with "Rule beside me, as my queen." Violet, heartbroken by how [[FallenHero far he had fallen]], turns away in tears.
* WhamShot: The heroes are celebrating at Bibbo's diner, and the waitress is wearing a Legion of Superheroes Flight Ring. Given that this waitress has blonde hair, it seems likely that this is Saturn Girl.
* XanatosSpeedChess: The Light's original plan is to have Terra kill Beast Boy, making metahumans look dangerous as a stepping stone to metahuman registration. Artemis talks her down, so Zviad engages in some quick-thinking and uses his psychic powers to push Geo-Force into killing Bedlam in cold blood and committing a coup, which Luthor thinks will lead to the same outcome. When Conner shows up at the UN and reveals his parentage, thereby costing Luthor his position, the Light still manages to break even by having Zviad manipulate Brion as a puppet of the Light.
* YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe: Lex has this reaction when he learns that Batman read Deathstroke's micro expressions.
