While it retains the usual endearing characters with their sweet designs befitting their innocent nature, [[SurprisinglyCreepyMoment once the adventure begins, the duo is quickly pushed into a dangerous situation filled with surreal monsters that can't stay in one design even within the same scene, a crazed populace, and truly unusual locations that are legitimately abnormal]].
* The naked twin singing dolls are creepy, especially how they get very close to the camera so their rolling eyes are focused on for the worst.
** While it's part of a happier song, the shot of Raggedy Ann with visible golden light from the middle of her eyes as she looks directly at the camera is [[SurprisinglyCreepyMoment alarming even within context]].
* Gazooks is a sea monster that moves around like a ''blob.'' [[PerpetuallyProtean It changes its form every few seconds]], while bulging its eyes at certain points. But that's not nearly as bad as...
* The Greedy is a huge living pile of taffy that [[PerpetuallyProtean constantly shapeshifts with often disturbing and horrifying results almost every second, sometimes in the same scene]], has a huge appetite, and almost ''kills'' Raggedy Ann, thinking that the sweetheart he needs is her literal candy heart.
** [[BishonenLine His also starts very cartoony but subtly but noticeably starts to look less cartoony and more realistic design as the song continues gradually continues]]. [[UncannyValley Having a very hyper-realistic and uncomfortably human-like appearance]] until he undergoes an [[OneWingedAngel especially monstrous transformation with yellow eyes with red slit pupils that quickly roll back into the head to become pure glowing lights]].
*** And when he threatens to take her heart, he morphs his hands into scissors, showing that [[AxCrazy the Greedy is not only insane but also has the capacity for violence]].
* While he's usually a sad but still sane character, the camel's hallucinations of ethereal-looking camels and [[WingdingEyes technicolor rainbow expanding circles in his eyes]] whenever he thinks about his family, with him, show heavily implied suicidal tendencies.
* The Looney Knight, coming right after the suspenseful Greedy situation, instead of being an endearing prankster as he intends, comes across as a crazy loon constantly giggling while tormenting Ann and Andy with pranks for personal amusement. His song "Because I Love You" has heavily pedophilic tones with a dissonant CreepyCircusMusic tune.
** A detail that makes him even creepier is that [[BrightIsNotGood he's colored brightly like he were in daylight while it's still in the middle of the night]]. At the same time, Ann, Andy, and Camel have more dull colors to blend with the darkness, making them stand out as unnatural in comparison.
* The entrance to Looney Land is a technicolor deranged clown head that has crazy eyes and lets out its tongue to "swallow" the trio", leading them into a pink room covered in numbers with a rising platform with a laughing face. It then leads to a monochrome room that turns everyone black-and-white while being unable to say words but relatively sound effects with several rooms having no structural logic, and it leads start to a rainbow floor room with a pitch-black background. [[EldritchLocation It combines the worst aspects of a fun house while not making sense architecturally even by the movies' already loose logic]].
** The only character with any color is the Looney Knight and that's around the eyes to highlight his crazy nature.
* The LaughingMad residents look like extremely warped versions of a humanoid. Made worse in that they were once ordinary civilians until King Koo Koo somehow made them into his court of deranged fools. And some of them look like warped robots, especially with the revelation of their true nature. [[NothingIsScarier And we're never told how they're made this way, making it more disturbing]].
** As mentioned by [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6gdmuvISIo&lc=UgxVxAPiaDk1sYCO0j54AaABAg a comment on this YouTube video]], it’s very possible that the whole reason the Looney Knight is so looney in the first place stems from witnessing once normal people turned into brainless monstrosities. [[FridgeHorror This is further exacerbated by living in perpetual terror that if he ever fails to keep the king laughing, he’ll be next]].
* The king's tendency to enlarge parts of himself laughing at the misery of others, a notable example would be his head expanding like a balloon while the rest of his body remains tiny, making for a very surreal image.
** King Koo Koo is a jerk at worst at the beginning, but becomes surprisingly frightening as he outlines his plans for the dolls: he plans to have them tormented so that he can laugh at them and thus grow bigger, and when he no longer finds them funny, [[AndIMustScream he'll turn them into members of his psychotic mutant "court."]]
* While it's not intentional, the plane that they escape on looks deranged especially with the eyes being located near the mouth below the "nose" and the blue-lipped grin it has.
* The fact that both the Greedy's home and the Joke Kingdom were pitch-black locations, implies that the background is so scary that YouDoNOTWantToKnow what it looks like. Noticeably, when the Greedy gets serious, the black background turns from yellow to red to show the situation's intensity.
* Raggedy Ann and Andy never blink, leading to them being unintentionally creepy.
