1	A good Franchise/{{Pokemon}} fic is never lacking on [[MythologyGag references to the multiple media of the franchise]], and ''Fanfic/PokemonResetBloodlines'' is no exception. Here are just a few of them:

4	* Ash can't seem to remember how old he was in the original timeline or how long he traveled, both references to the canon NotAllowedToGrowUp.
5	** In relation to this, Belladonna and company are shown breaking into a store called 'Forever 10' during the Holiday Special.
6	* Erika's in-game remarks about having dozed off are turned into full blown narcolepsy.
7	* Pikachu briefly thinks Scott's name is either Scottie, Sawyer, or Shota: referring to the ''XY'' Rival ([[DiscontinuityNod whom Ash never met....]])
8	* Yellow first meets Ash in a Bianca-esque fashion: running into him while shouting. Ash this time didn't get soaked to the bone however.
9	* Melissa is implied in the story (and confirmed by the author) to be a trans woman, a nod to the fact that [[ShesAManInJapan she was male in the original Japanese]].
10	* Gary has a Raticate whom he mentions to have retired from battles by the time of his Oneshot. This is a reference to Raticate being retired from the Rival's team, though without the commonly assumed [[Fanfic/PoorRival dead Raticate theory]] (instead, he has it focused on the following field moves: Headbutt, Secret Power, Cut and Rock Smash).
11	* In the Lorelei oneshot, Nevermelt Ice can be found in the Icefall Cave, just like in the ''[=FireRed=] and [=LeafGreen=]'' games.
12	* Hapu's in-game comments about being distracted by Lillie's loveliness lead to the character being attracted to girls, and in particular blondes.
13	* [[spoiler:Wes's]] simulation mentioned in his first appearence is the one that the player starts with as a tutorial in ''XD''.
14	* Casey's Clefairy is a stand-in for Ash's Pikachu, a nod to the fact that Clefairy was planned to be the ''Pokémon'' mascot early in development.
15	** Casey's name is also a nod to the fact that, when the anime was to be dubbed into English, "Casey" was going to be Ash's name.
16	* When Ash is trapped in Hunter J's ship, [=MissingNo=] begins taunting Ash by also calling him "Satoshi" and "Casey".
17	* Astrid's battle with Ramos mirrors Ash's: his Weepinbell defeated her two super-effective Pokemon with the aide of poison but had the tables turned when a non-supereffective Pokemon they'd later use as an Ace during their later battles managed to block the Poison.
18	* Ashley in canon was a cosplay Ash used to infiltrate the Celadon Gym in the original timeline. Here, [[spoiler: Ashley is now her own person, and is another person on the ever expanding list of potential half-siblings Ash has. She even looks just like the cosplay, just older and in a waitress uniform. Ash for his part suspects it's another instance of [=MissingNo=] messing with him]].
19	* Ash and Misty's bags brand names are their Japanese names, the Satoshi Explorer 1 bag and Kasumi Trailblazer Drawstring bag respectively.
20	* More than once someone suggests Ash and his team train atop a mountain for a prolonged period, Ash even suggesting he'd have Pikachu, Charizard, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Snorlax with him, reflecting Red's actions after beating the Pokemon League in the original games and even his team.
21	* The team Falkner uses in his gaiden during his search for the Legendary Birds is the one he uses for the World Leaders Tournament in Black & White 2.
22	* During the Kiawe oneshot, Lana was depicted as being rather fond of getting guys to discard their shirts and flex muscles. Her game self was prone to making jokes about strappling swimmers.
23	* Iolani warns Kiawe not to get a job at Thrifty Mart. Game Kiawe got fired from such a job.
24	* Koa's comments about humans understanding the intent of their Pokemon is similar to what Ash commented on to Valerie in canon.
25	* Kiawe meets Velvet and Frax in a similar way he met Ash: fighting off punks with bikes.
26	* Raymond's battle with Blaine goes pretty similar to the one he has with Ash at the start of the first movie, except that Blaine only needs ''one'' Pokémon to [[CurbStompBattle take out his entire team.]]
27	* Blaine's gym ''used'' to be inside a volcano just like the anime. Because it was [[NoOSHACompliance so obviously dangerous]], the Pokemon League told Blaine that he has to use a standard gym building rather than the volcano.
28	** And during the 2017 Holiday Special, he reveals that he also used to have a Rhydon like in the anime before specializing in Fire-Types.
29	* Red's surname is revealed in Chapter 26 as "Tajiri", the same as Creator/SatoshiTajiri, the creator of the franchise. Additionally, in the Sanpei Interlude, there's a character named Satoshi, who doubles as a nod to Ash's Japanese name.
30	* A few glitches and early installment weirdnesses from Generation I are referenced:
31	** Dexter mentions to Ash that Psychic-types were banned in Kanto until new Ghost and Dark-type moves to counter them were discovered, and that even in the present time they're still too broken. It also mentions that the move Wrap is still banned.
32	** Aurora has a Shelder that can use Teleport. Dexter mentions that it's rare, but they can be taught the move, and they were used during the last Trainer-Ranger war.
33	*** Teleport is also used by Koga's Venomoth, which like Shellder can only use Teleport in Gen 1.
34	** Blaine's Growlithe can use a Fire Spin so intense that leaves the opponents completely trapped and unable to move or attack at all, although he notes that he doesn't like using it, only making an exception because Raymond has been ''very'' rude and disrespectful to him.
35	* In the Erika Interlude, Erika's Gloom hums a song that A.J. recognizes as "What Kind of Pokémon are You?". An instrumental version of this song was used as Erika's theme in ''VideoGame/PokemonPuzzleLeague''.
36	** Likewise, Lorelei has "Pokémon Dance Mix" set as her ringtone, which was her respective theme in said game.
37	* The Giselle Interlude has Misty tell Giselle "He's a boy, and he's my friend, but he's not my boyfriend", much like what she told Melody in ''Anime/Pokemon2000''.
38	* In her gaiden, Luana owns a Butterfree that wears a scarf around the neck, much like Ash's Butterfree did in his final episode.
39	* Evanna's physical description matches that of the Battle Girls from Generation IV.
40	** Similarly, Tommy from the Sabrina Gaiden is basically a teenage version of the Bug-Catchers.
41	* The Electabuzz featured in the Luana Gaiden has extra digits on his hands. Electabuzz's sprite in ''VideoGame/PokemonStadium'' has six digits instead of five.
42	* Gladion mentions participation in battle royals like in the games.
43	** Gladion and Velvet's final battle of Lycanroc and Alolan Persian mirrors the Pokemon Adventures fight where Olivia and Nanu fight with the same Pokémon.
44	* Much like in the anime, one of the reasons Lucy finds Brock attractive is because she thinks squinty eyes are cute.
45	* Brock is able to tell the difference between the Rhyhorn Fang Brothers because he notices the subtle differences between them, which was also how he was able to tell the different [[InexplicablyIdenticalIndividuals Nurse Joys and Officer Jennys]] apart in the anime.
46	* Sho has an encounter with Jasmine at the Sunnyshore beach, much like the player does in the Diamond, Pearl and Platinum games.
47	* In the Twenty Gyarados Bill Gaiden, General Javelin's Pokémon team is clearly based on Lance's team from the Gen II games: Three Dragonites, a Charizard and an Aerodactyl, the only exception being his Ampharos, replacing Lance's Gyarados. Furthermore, the Black Arachnid Gaiden reveals that Javelin ''does'' own a Gyarados, but didn't bring it to the battle so it wouldn't get mixed with Bill's.
48	* Cross, the trainer who originally owned Ash's Charmander in the 20th Anniversary movie, appears in the Charmander Gaiden, defeating him while he's under Damian's care.
49	* A few references to ''Manga/TheElectricTaleOfPikachu'':
50	** In [[BirthdayEpisode "Happy Birthday, Ash!"]], Ash is mentioned to have had [[PrecociousCrush a crush on Gary's older sister as a kid]].
51	** In the Big P Pokémon Race Interlude, [[AdaptedOut Dario doesn't enlist Team Rocket's help]], instead paying a bunch of nameless thugs to sabotage the race. A group of them use several Squirtle, Wartortle and Blastoise to try and hold back Ash and Ponyta at the halfway point.
52	** One of Casey Snagem's example of what a Pokemon Master could be, a trainer who regularly competes in leagues, originates from the Electric Tale continuity.
53	** In the S.S. Anne Interlude, while she's on a swimsuit-shopping spree with Ash, Misty spots a sling bikini like the one she wears in her gym battle in Electric Tale.

63	* The Silph Co. Tiksi Branch is mentioned by Anna as a horrible place one of her lovers and potential stepfathers for Arnold got transferred to.
64	* The Nidoking in the Kangaskhan Kid Gaiden gets his eye hurt twice. In ''Manga/PokemonAdventures'', a Nidoking with an eye injury causes a lot of trouble for Red in the Safari Zone.
65	* In Kangaskhan Kid Gaiden, during a meeting, Tommy uses the line "You teach me, and I teach you" from the first English theme song.
66	* Lorelei writes magazine articles and light novels under the {{pen name}} "Prima," which is how [[DubNameChange her character was named in the English dub]].
67	* There are some nods to ''Literature/PocketMonstersTheAnimation'':
68	** Delia Ketchum runs a restaurant named Pallet House.

75	* During Red's dream in the One Island interlude, he uses the team used by [[Anime/PokemonOrigins his Origins self]] against Ash, which is also the team that Satoshi Tajiri, the series creator, used in his first playthrough.
76	** Red repeats the use of said Origins team, with Pikachu replacing Jolteon, when battling against Alex Silph.
77	** During said Dream, Ash says (mostly) word for word what the Rival tells Red before battling for the championship.
78	* During the Princess' Festival shopping spree, Iris ends up wearing her Black and White 2 Champion's [[PimpedOutDress dress]], while Anabel wears her suit from Sun & Moon and Misty is shown dressed in her look from Pokemon Adventures during the Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow chapters.

81	** The Shiny Beldum Steven gives to Sawyer is based on the one released for Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire.
82	* The Yancy Interlude has the title character having a FerrisWheelDateMoment at the beginning and at the end, just like in the Black & White 2 games. Furthermore, her first meeting with Nate [[spoiler: (actually Blake)]] happens very similar to when the player meets her for the first time in said games (her losing her Xtransceiver and scheduling a meeting by the Ferris Wheel so he can give it back).
83	* The [[spoiler:artificial Mega Rayquaza]] Steven and the Draconids face brings to mind [[spoiler: the [[Anime/PokemonJirachiWishmaker Fake Groudon]].]]
84	* Lorelei's mother having purple hair references her earlier artworks before she was officially made a red-head.
85	* Sabrina mentioning May seemed to have aged backwards is reference to how she seemed less busty in the Diamond & Pearl Saga when compared to her look in the Advanced saga.

In Pokémon Yellow, an Officer Jenny in Vermillion gives the player a Squirtle who allegedly went around causing trouble.

90	** Just as it is identified Ash recalls all four moments it appeared in the anime before ''XY'' (and after ''XY'', as it did not appear in the series the same way Zapdos and Moltres did).

106	** In the Pokemon Adventures manga, Emerald is capable of using soil to calm down Pokemon, determining which of his stock of soil belongs to a Pokemon's birthplace, and using that. In the climax of his arc, he uses Faraway Island soil, also known as ''the birthplace of Mew'', to calm down every Pokemon. The reason that worked is because Mew was the ancestor of all Pokemon. The reason Oak's and Hasting's research was a success was because they managed to get Faraway Island soil, and eventually, replicate its unique properties.
107	** In the ''Pokemon Go'' mobile game, Professor Willow mentions that Oak had researched Mew at one point, which would explain how he knew enough to think the soil of Mew's birthplace would be useful for his and Hasting's research.

114	** The armor, which acts to both suppress and enhance his psychic powers, is explicitly called "M2 Bind", as in the ''Adventures'' manga.
115	** His first opponents when Giovanni puts him to test are an Arcanine and a Nidoking, referencing his battle in the anime against Gary Oak.
116	** At the end, he mentions that Giovanni had tried to create "a more docile and cooperative version of him", possibly hinting the creation of the second Mewtwo from the 16th movie.
117	* Red Seven Island Interlude references the Arceus event in the Gen 4 Remakes: specifically how the Unown were a part of it.
118	* Butch references the 'Light Years from Facing Brock' line in chapter 42.
119	* In the Katie Gaiden, John Archer's wears the same outfit as Brendan from the original Ruby and Sapphire, albeit without the hat and the red parts colored blue.
120	* Chapter 48 has Kaia mentioning a deaf trainer who uses a Jigglypuff, in reference to ''Pokémon Live!'' (the trainer is even named Jesse, after Jesse Nager, who played said trainer in the aforementioned stage).
