Our Daughter's Wedding was an American {{New Wave|Music}} / SynthPop band consisting of Keith Silva (vocalist & keyboarder), Layne Rico (synthesiser), and Scott Simon (bass-synth & saxophone). The trio started in 1977, releasing a mini-album, ''Digital Cowboy'' in 1981. "Lawnchairs", their first single, became a #49 hit in the UK Singles Chart in August of that year. They appeared on Creator/{{MTV}} as guest hosts, and toured alongside other New Wavers such as Music/DuranDuran and Music/IggyPop. Their second release, ''Moving Windows'', in 1982, was a full-length album combining synth-pop & funk, but was a flop with no hit singles. Floundering on as a support for Music/ThePsychedelicFurs for a few more months, the band dissolved in 1983, making them yet another short-lived New Wave group, one almost completely forgotten today.

!!Our Daughter's Wedding provides examples of:
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: They started out as a typical rock band using real instruments (drums, guitar and bass); then switched to synthesisers and rhythm machines in 1979.
* GenreBusting: Their work for ''Digital Cowboy'' combined disco with synth; "Lawnchairs" and "Airlines" were popular with both the dance and the New Wave crowd, making it an early crossover hit. ''Moving Windows'' shifted into a funk direction with droning synthesisers instead of slap bass.
* NewWaveMusic: An entirely-synth example.
* SynthPop
* WordSaladLyrics: Not all of their tracks, but "Lawnchairs" definitely qualifies. Why would "your mind describe them" to you? The world may never know.
