----
!!Tropes by Vektroid include:
* CoverVersion: "Color Ocean" is basically a cover of "Sexual Healing" by Music/MarvinGaye.
* DarkerAndEdgier: Well... let's just say that the sounds of Macintosh Plus '''''[[HellIsThatNoise changed]] [[SensoryAbuse considerably]]''''' during the eight year-long gap that seperated ''Floral Shoppe'' from ''Sick & Panic''.
* DarkReprise: "新たな夢Spirited Child (Color Ocean Sky)" by Sacred Tapestry for "リサフランク420 / 現代のコンピュ" by MACINTOSH PLUS. It uses the same sample, but uses more abstract sampling styles to create an eerie effect. Note that this was Vektroid's ''last'' New Dreams Ltd. project until ''Home™'' and ''[=ClearSkies=]™''.
* DepartmentOfRedundancyDepartment: 情報デスクVIRTUAL's "風船ガムBUBBLEGUM". The Japanese translates roughly to "bubblegum", so the song is essentially called "Bubblegum BUBBLEGUM".
* EpicRocking: Macintosh Plus' "リサフランク420 / 現代のコンピュ" is over seven minutes.
** "Enemy" is a whopping nine minutes long.
** "Motions Feel" is eight minutes long.
** Several of her ambient pieces stretch up to twenty minutes.
** Nearly the entirety of the dstnt alias does not go under nine minutes, with the four songs on ''NSII'' being longer than thirty.
** ''Sick & Panic'' is twelve and a half minutes long.
* TheFaceless: Until her DJ set at spf420 in 2014.
* GratuitousJapanese: Used in her vaporwave works. Some of it includes redundancies (such as listing the English translation directly after the Japanese text) or mistranslations caused by inputting text into Google Translate.
* IHaveManyNames: Vectorfray, Vktrfry, Vektordrum, dstnt, VEKTROID, Laserdisc Visions, Fuji Grid TV, New Dreams Ltd., esc 不在, Tanning Salon, Macintosh Plus, 情報デスクVIRTUAL, Sacred Tapestry, [=PrismCorp=] Virtual Enterprises, CTO and Peace Forever Eternal are all her. Every name in that list past VEKTROID are all one-off aliases.
* InsultBackfire: The [[https://www.discogs.com/label/486068-New-Dreams-Ltd New Dreams Ltd. series of albums]][[note]]Not to be confused with the albums released under the artist name of New Dreams Ltd.[[/note]], which encompasses all of her work in vaporwave, was created as a StealthParody of undiscerning internet hipsters pretending to like things for ironic reasons. She ended up codifying vaporwave into the household name that it is by doing so, creating countless imitators alongside genuine musicians who pushed the genre forward.
* LastNoteNightmare: "リサフランク420 / 現代のコンピュ" ends with what can only be described as a minute and a half long nervous breakdown.
* LoudnessWar: Her vaporwave works were often [=EQed=] pretty loudly.
* MinisculeRocking: "Liquid Air" by Laserdisc Visions is three seconds shy of a minute long.
* RearrangeTheSong: "Impressions" from [=PrismCorp=]'s ''Home™'' album is pretty much a MIDI version of Music/PhilCollins' "Easy Lover".
* {{Sampling}}: All of her vaporwave tracks, natch.
** In particular, the ''New Dreams. Ltd.'' album released under the name Laserdisc Visions has chopped and screwed ''VideoGame/NightsIntoDreams'' songs.
** "Motions Feel" from ''Telnet Erotika'' reworks "Emotions" by Roger Troutman (known for his work with Zapp) into a slow, electronic synth piece.
** [[http://vektroid.bandcamp.com/track/mindscape "Mindscape"]] and [[http://vektroid.bandcamp.com/track/vga-grid "VGA Grid"]] from ''Starcalc'' sample the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smhukUzP3UI Information Center theme]] from ''VideoGame/LegoIsland''.
* StealthParody[=/=]TakeThat: Her New Dreams Ltd. works. The whole thing was, in her words, "bred from the hypothesis that the scene has such a backwards mentality of music that they will listen to anything, no matter how tragically unfashionable the music sounds, if it's packaged fashionably."
* StylisticSuck: Implied with 情報デスクVIRTUAL's album ''札幌コンテンポラリー'', in which song snippets were simply slowed down and looped with zero added effects.
* {{Title 1}}: ''Omegaalpha (Disc One)'' and ''Initiation Tape - Part 1''.
* TitleTrack: "Color Ocean" from ''Color Ocean Road'', "Neo Cali", and "Floral Shoppe", though the latter is written in Japanese characters.
* {{Tradesnark}}: The fictional company [[MegaCorp Prism Corp. International]] has one.
-->''We Know Who You're Working For™''
** There's also the albums ''Home™'' and ''[=ClearSkies=]™'' from [=PrismCorp=] Visual Enterprises.
* TropeCodifier: It's safe to say that she's the most recognizable vaporwave artist in the genre, and her work was likely a gateway for many into the genre.
** ''Floral Shoppe'' is in turn the most popular vaporwave album, credited primarily to "リサフランク420 / 現代のコンピュ".
* UpdatedRerelease: Xavier has a habit of re-evaluating and re-packaging older works:
** Vektordrum's two 2009 ''Hello Skypedals'' [=EPs=] would be reconfigured into ''[=Hello1&2=]'' in 2016. The new album re-ordered the songs and ditched the remixes by Nonima.
** Vektordrum's 161-minute 2009 album ''I, Banished'' was re-cut into the 79-minute ''Geese'' in 2010, with the title track pitched down, another song entirely rebuilt into a new song, and all included songs gaining new segues. A later digital re-issue in 2016 gave it different cover art.
** Vektroid's 2010 EP ''TELNET EROTIKA'' would be reissued as ''Telnet Complete'' in 2017 with 12 bonus songs, an entirely different running order, and reworkings of the original 5 songs.
** Vektroid's ''Starcalc'' was a 12 song album that came with a bonus 11 song package consisting of ''Polymind EP'', ''Sphinx Caverns'' and ''Windows Safari''. The latter two [=EPs=] were quickly repackaged as ''Polytravellers'', while all but one song from ''Polymind EP'' were added to ''Starcalc'' alongside 4 other bonus songs.
** New Dreams Ltd.'s ''Initiation Tape'' would receive a remastering in 2014, adding several songs from the esc不在 albums.
** Laserdisc Visions' ''New Dreams Ltd.'' has 3 versions: A 21-track digital release; a 22-track cassette version with two additional songs and "Zik Zak" and "Liquid Air" merged; and a 27-track digital re-issue one year later, retaining the order of the first release but adding five different extra songs and one extra song from the cassette version. The cassette version also added Japanese commercial soundbytes as an ambient haze to the full length of the album.
** Fuji Grid TV's ''Prism Genesis'' would be expanded and reissued in 2016 under the artist name of New Dreams Ltd. and the album name of ''Fuji Grid TV EX''.
** Vektroid's ''Neo Cali'' was originally a 10 song album. It was quickly turned into a 15 song album while also removing "Wild Wave", but as of 2018 is a 14 song album, having removed "Untitled" as well.
** Macintosh Plus' ''Floral Shoppe'' got a similar treatment to New Dreams Ltd. On cassette and vinyl, the two final songs were swapped out for two new songs, a couple tracks are pitched downward and slower, and one track also fades into the next. The 2017 vinyl reissue is a remastered version of the cassette but removes the segue on side A. A bonus song is also included.
** Vektroid's ''Color Ocean Road'' had five bonus songs added onto the end shortly after its initial release. In 2017, the final bonus song was moved up in the track position, appearing as the final song of the EP proper before the bonus tracks.
** Sacred Tapestry's ''Shader'' got a reissue as ''Shader Complete'' in 2016, with a revised track order and new music.
