Magicheskij (Russian: Magic) is an urban fantasy series, originally written in Norwegian by tropers Lizzie Andersen and Kath Tinn, translated to English by Lizzie and uploaded onto deviantART.

Dimitri always thought he was normal. Violetta always knew that she wasn't. When circumstances force him to move in with her and her friends, Leonardo and Mino, he learns that not only are there magicians in this world; he has become one of them. He also comes to realize that the large gaps in his memory from his childhood is not a coincidence; something or someone has blocked them.
As he and his friends struggle to figure out the things happening around them, they build a close-knit group of companions who are willing to go to great lengths to help them. But friends cannot always be trusted, and the cause of their problems might be much closer to home than they think.

There are currently two finished novels and two more in progress, but only the first chapters currently available online.

* Bratja (Russian: Brothers. Prequel concerning how Igor became the man he is and what happened to Dimitri’s family.)
* Stranger among witches
* Life among the dead
* Lies among the Keepers
* Honour among thieves

!!This series features examples of:

%%* ActionGirl:
%%** Artemis, Violetta, Feddy, Julia, Lillian and Katharina, just to mention the most prominent.
** Korinta is also this during fights, but doesn’t show any real traits of it in other situations, although she is developing her badass-ness. Pretty much most of the females in the series are action girls, to some extent.
%%* ActionGirlfriend: Artemis and Martinius, except they’re not really a couple.
%%* ActionMom: Julia Romanov.
%%* ActualPacifist: Merlin.
%%* AmazonBrigade: The Maras. Also Elaine, Morgana and Morgause, during the periods where they get along.
%%* AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther: Korinta and Diego.
%%* BackToBackBadasses: Happens on several occasions. Artemis is usually involved.
%%* BadassFamily: The Romanovs. Peter’s criminal family might also count.
%%* BarrierWarrior: Igor. Dimitri inherits this through his father.
%%* BattleCouple: Korinta and Diego. Nicolai and Julia. (Artemis and Martinius, and Peter and Freddy also apply, except that they are not romantically involved.)
%%* CantHoldHisLiquor: Dimitri. To be fair, he had never been drunk before and Mino tricked him.
%%* ClassyCatBurglar: Freddy Carlson (but good luck trying to get her into a latex suit or anything of the like).
%%* ChessMaster: Elaine. The Merlin/ team also have a little bit of this.
%%* ChivalrousPervert: Leonardo is a perfect example for this (also applies to Igor in his younger days).
%%* CombatMedic: Freddy, Julia and Nico fit into this trope.
%%* CombatStilettos: Artemis in her high heels.
* DistressedDamsel: Igor and Nicolai rush in to save Julia, but are overpowered by the monster and need her to save them.
* DamselOutOfDistress:
** Julia, who was kidnapped and then killed her kidnapper before Igor and Nicolai arrived to rescue her.
%%** Lillian also tries her hand at this.
%%* DistressedDude: Nicolai and Igor in a particularly embarrassing incident. (Igor is also this to his brother on several occasions.) Martinius also has a tendency to play this role for Artemis, Peter is sometimes this to Freddy (although he is usually able to take care of himself) and Dimitri is this to... pretty much everyone.
%%* GadgeteerGenius: Martinius
%%* GentlemanThief: Peter O’Brian Jones.
%%* HideousHangoverCure: Violetta gives one to Dimitri, although this one actually removes the intoxication and goes straight to the hangover. She takes pity on him relatively quickly and gives him an antidote.
%%* HoYay: Dimitri and Leonardo.
%%* ILetGwenStacyDie: Igor, about Nicolai and Julia (and Maelie). Violetta, Martinius, Artemis .
%%* IShouldWriteABookAboutThis: Dimitri, at the end of Stranger among witches.
* IWasBeatenByAGirl: German, after Artemis kicked his ass to show that sword-fighting is the superior form of martial arts. A lot of Artemis' opponents have this reaction.
%%* IfItsYouItsOkay: Type 1 - Dimitri feels this way about Leonardo to some extent, although whether they become an official couple remains to be seen.
* KissingUnderTheInfluence: Dimitri and Mino, although it was somewhat subverted by the fact that Mino did the kissing while Dimitri just stared in surprise, and Mino later turned out not to be drunk. Also happens with Dimitri and Violetta, while Violetta was possessed by .
%%* LadyOfBlackMagic: Elaine, Morgana and Morgause all fit this trope, as, to a lesser degree, do Charlotte and Violetta.
%%* LadyOfWar: Artemis.
* LaResistance: Soprotivlenie (Russian: Resistance), Nicolai and Igor’s resistance who are fighting against Elaine’s hold over Russia. Also covers Billy’s magical resistance
* LethalChef: Mino, amongst other things by putting dragon essence into gingerbread.
%%* MeaningfulName: The de Malfaiteur children, Jonas Lorentzen, Damon [=McCoy=] and Adelphie, just to mention a few.
* MeaningfulRename: Isabella to Artemis, the goddess of the hunt.
%%* Moe: Dimitri (even though he’s male, he fits the trope perfectly), and to a certain degree, Lillian.
%%* MoreDeadlyThanTheMale: Many of the female characters, especially Artemis and Julia.
%%* NarratorAllAlong: The Scribe.
%%* NeverGetsDrunk: 3a for Billy and Peter (Peter does get drunk after huge amounts of alcohol, but seemingly only at will).
* NeverMessWithGranny: A dark example, as Peter’s grandmother is aggressive and violent towards him and other “disobedient” members of the family, rather than towards baddies.
%%* OutlawCouple: Peter and Freddy, who even call each other Bonnie and Clyde on occasion.
* PirateGirl: The captain on Jack’s pirate ship. Also somewhat applies to Artemis in book 3, when is sent back in time and made to think she is a Spanish sailor. Although the Spanish ship is not a pirate ship, the Englishmen’s attitudes say it might as well have been.
%%* PuppyDogEyes: Dimitri.
* ReallySevenHundredYearsOld: True for a lot of the Elders (who age very slowly, but still age and very often have greying hair), but especially so with , who stopped aging completely somewhere in his mid-twenties.
%%* RebelLeader: Billy Kitteridge (has the role, but not the personality). The Romanov brothers between them have this trope down to a tee.
* RedemptionEqualsDeath: Subverted. Although Damon was prepared to let Jonas and himself die in the future to save Jonas in the present, Billy had a change of heart and decided to save them both. Also considered with Igor, until he became too loveable. Subverted with Mino, who may (or may not) have had a FaceHeelTurn after she died.
* ShootTheMedicFirst: In the revolution future, Freddy was the first of the gang to be killed (with a gun, no less), leaving the resistance group without any healer above witchcraft level (potions, salves and herbal remedies).
%%* SiblingTeam: Artemis and Diego, Dimitri and Nico, Igor and Nicolai, Elaine and her sisters, Freddy and Bea, Peter and his brothers (closer to TheFamilyThatSlaysTogether, since their father works with them), Brianna and Cassandra.
%%* SiblingsInCrime: Elaine, Morgana and Morgause are this on the occasions when they get along. Also Freddy and Peter with Freddy’s sister and Peter’s many brothers.
%%* SilkHidingSteel: Lillian, Julia, sometimes Artemis (depending on what is needed for the situation), Elaine and, to varying degrees, her sisters.
%%* TheChewToy: Poor Dimitri…
%%* TheCasanova: Leonardo, Igor and Martinius.
* TheFamilyThatSlaysTogether: Peter’s family of criminals, although none of them have ever even considered extending into violent crime, as they closer to an organization of anti-heroes. Freddy with her father and sister also apply.
%%* TheMcCoy: Igor and, well, Damon [=McCoy=].
%%* TheSmartGuy: Martinius. At least technologically if not socially.
%%* TheWoobie: Dimitri, and surprisingly, Igor.
* TouchedByVorlons: Dimitri, who is given magic though his interactions with Mary Jane Ranno.
%%* ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend: Artemis to Martinius (although she’s not his girlfriend. At least not yet...)
%%* WellIntentionedExtremist: Igor, although, as he only kills when absolutely necessary (in his view), he may be closer to the VigilanteMan. [=McCoy=] is a more straight example of this trope, since the only ones he truly cares about not hurting are his younger self and Jonas.
%%* WonderTwinPowers: Although not twins, this covers Nicolai and Igor’s shieldbreaker powers. Also played straight with Billy and Vera.
