Say what you will about this film's [[PoliticallyCorrectHistory heavily romanticized version of colonial America]], there's no denying it has no shortage of heartwarming moments.

----

* John Smith and Pocahontas hugging after John is rescued. It's not a BigDamnKiss or a SmoochOfVictory, it's just a hug. But the emotions portrayed speak volumes.
** There's a shot of Nakoma smiling proudly. She holds no ill will toward John, and is happy for her friend, however short-lived the moment turns out to be.
* "If I Never Knew You", {{Narm}}-y montage aside.
* The first meeting between Pocahontas and John at the waterfall. There was no dialogue, but it wasn't necessary to set the mood.
* Pocahontas visiting John Smith after he's imprisoned. "No matter what happens, I'll always be with you... forever." Cue heart-dissolving and lip-quivering from the sheer sweetness of that scene. It's even better when accompanied by the deleted song.
* The couple's first kiss, immediately before the fight that results in [[spoiler: Kocoum's death and Smith's imprisonment]].
* Meeko comforting Percy, when he's visibly traumatized by the above events, and setting aside their differences.
** Afterward, during the scene where Pocahontas is [[HeroicBSOD breaking down over how her actions resulted in not only Kocoum's demise, but John's death sentence and war between her people and the settlers]], Percy sits down next to her, leans his head against her and whines sympathetically. Keep in mind that this is their first real interaction.
* During "Steady as the Beating Drum," when many of the men of Pocahontas' community are returning from war, the women and children are running to welcome them back. In fact, one woman runs up to her husband and tackle hugs him so hard, they both fall back into the river. Powhatan’s smile at the scene seals the deal.
* After Pocahontas' plea for him to spare John Smith's life, Powhatan hesitates, considering his daughter's warning that killing the prisoner will only bring about more violence. A gust of wind blows in, and the chief stands still for several moments, as if listening to someone talking to him. Finally, he raises his club, announces that "If there is to be more killing, it will not start with me," and orders one of his warriors to release Smith from his binds, convincing the two sides to back down the battle...before Ratcliffe decides to try and start it up again.
** Earlier in the film, when talking about his late wife (Pocahontas' mother), he mentions that "Whenever the wind moves through the trees, I feel her presence." [[FridgeBrilliance That gust of wind was the voice of his beloved, telling him to listen to their daughter, and choose the path of peace.]]
* The whole of John and Thomas' relationship counts. They didn't even know each other at the beginning of the movie, but by the time the storm threatens to sink their ship, John already has a bit of a BigBrotherInstinct toward Thomas. Fast forward to their landing in Virginia, and they act as if they've been best friends for years.
* During the ambush attack between the settlers and natives, Kocoum's friend Namontak is shot in the leg. Ben is about to finish him off until Kocoum intervenes and overpowers him before he can finish the job. He the proceeds to carry said wounded warrior on his back and inmediately orders his fellow men back to Powhatan's village. It shows that despite him having a serious demeanor as Pocahontas describes him, he has a very caring side for his fellow warriors and conmrades and will not abandon them as shown here.
* The brief [[PetTheDog little hug]] that Wiggins gives Percy when Ratcliffe and Wiggins are discussing what they'll find in the New World. Really, Wiggins is probably the only character who treats Percy with any kindness.
* Toward the end, when Thomas explains to Pocahontas why John has to go back, she places a reassuring hand on his shoulder. It shows that she forgives him for [[spoiler: his AccidentalMurder of Kocoum]]. The sequel would have shown that Thomas and Pocahontas became somewhat friendly, though his scene was cut.
* The bond between Nakoma and Pocahontas is clearly very strong. Even though she has every reason to hate Nakoma for getting Kocoum killed, Pocahontas never attacks her over it and instantly knows that her friend was worried about her.
** Nakoma also immediately accepts responsibility and tries to make amends by getting Pocahontas to see John one last time. She could have tried to hide behind her reasons but doesn't.
* These moments during "Colors of the Wind" while Pocahontas shows John Smith her world:
** Pocahontas invites John to a hollow tree where a bear family lives. In a subversion of BearsAreBadNews, Pocahontas picks up a cub and lets John hold it. The cub then playfully swats John on his helmet.
** Pocahontas and John rolling together in the woods, accompanied by the line "Come roll in all the riches all around you, And for once, never wonder what they're worth".
** Pocahontas and John releasing [[NobleBirdOfPrey eagles]] perched on their elbows into the sky. They take flight and land on the tallest branch of a sycamore.
* Powhatan laying his cloak over John and telling him, "You are always welcome among our people. Thank you, my brother."
