1	* Ledo saying, "Thank you," to Amy at the end of episode three. Deep, considering these are the first words he said in her language (and especially cute how he stumbles over the foreign syllables).
2	* The party in episode 5 was apparently Pinion's attempt to cheer Ledo up for not finding a job. It also explains his annoyance at everyone else crashing the party--he just wanted a little, private affair for Ledo and his close-ish friends.
3	* Amy's private dance for Ledo in episode 6. While the one she performed at the feast was fast paced and energetic, this one is both sensual and tender, especially with the music and the "ocean auroras" added into the mix. It all makes it come across as a personal and intimate moment between the two.
4	** Even earlier, despite Bellows and Pinion trying to argue over who Ledo works with, Ledo gets increasingly distracted by Amy, Melty, and Saaya's belly dancing (particularly the former). Although humorous, it's actually rather sweet when you realize the context: the performance, which many could dismiss as "pointless {{Fanservice}}" on the surface, is symbolically showing how much Ledo's grown since he came to Gargantia - from a soldier who only thought about killing to a young man developing his own wants and needs, including attraction - sexual ''and'' emotional - to Amy. The private dance afterward only cements this.
5	* In the latter half of the series, Ledo's struggles with the moral implications of his position and his life show how hard he's working to overcome his own ignorance and an entire life of ingrained obedience in the pursuit of doing the right thing. Highlights include [[spoiler: refusing to kill the Hideauze once he learns that they had a close relationship with humanity and attacking his highly respected superior officer to save his friends and their people.]]
6	* In episode 9, despite claiming his reasoning is based purely on logic, it's easy to get the impression that Chamber genuinely thinks HumansAreSpecial.

Conclusion: The reason humans developed their intellectual capabilities and complex civilizations was in order to overcome their bodily limitations.
