----
* The banter between Antonio and Geppetto.
-->"Good day, Mastro Antonio," said Geppetto. "What are you doing on the floor?"\
"[[AskAStupidQuestion I am teaching the ants their A B C's]]."\
"Good luck to you!"\
"What brought you here, friend Geppetto?"\
"[[ExactWords My legs]]!"
* Geppetto deciding to name his puppet "Pinocchio" after a family he once met, believing that it'll bring him good luck because he recalls those people doing well: "[[WoobieFamily the richest of them begged for his living]]".
* After the egg that Pinocchio wanted to eat hatches into a chick that flies away thanking him for the help, the book describes that Pinocchio [[{{Beat}} stands motionless with wide eyes, open mouth, still holding the empty halves of the eggshell]] until he [[DelayedReaction snaps out of it]] and angrily despairs at the lack of food.
* The comments Pinocchio does to ask mercy to Mangiafuoco. He tries many titles, Signore, kind Sir, Commander, but only the last one, "Your Excellency", works.
* The Crow and the Owl's fallacious, pointless comments about a fainted Pinocchio, bordering on InsaneTrollLogic.
-->"To my mind this puppet is dead and gone; but if, by any evil chance, he were not, then that would be a sure sign that he is still alive."\
"I am sorry," said the Owl, "to have to contradict the Crow, my famous friend and colleague. To my mind this puppet is alive; but if, by any evil chance, he were not, then that would be a sure sign that he is wholly dead."
** Then when Pinocchio begins to cry at the Cricket scolding him for his actions:
--->"When the dead weep, it is a sign that they are beginning to recover!"\
"I am sorry to contradict my famous friend and colleague," said the Owl, "but as far as I'm concerned, when the dead weep, it is a sign that they are displeased about being dead."
* With the knowledge that Pinocchio is a "fish" [[ItCanThink that can talk and beg]] the Green Fisherman offers him to pick and choose how he'd like to be cooked.
* The fact that Alidoro saves Pinocchio and outruns the enraged Green Fisherman because the latter gives up after becoming fatigued from running, most likely due to his unhealthy diet.
* Regardless of it being a DisproportionateRetribution after SkippingSchool and escaping the Green Fisherman, Pinocchio being stuck outside the Blue Fairy's house while it's raining because the Snail Maid is taking a very long time to come downstairs and let him in is pretty comical. Then Pinocchio impatiently starts kicking the door until he gets [[CrossesTheLineTwice his foot stuck through it]] forcing him to stay up waiting in that position until the snail arrives.
** Before getting his foot stuck, we get some SurrealHumor in the form of Pinocchio furiously getting ready to bang the door's knocker, which inexplicably becomes an eel that slithers away into the stormwater.
** The LemonyNarrator says that the snail took only 9 hours to go from the fourth floor to the street, commenting that [[SarcasmMode she must've raced]].
** When the snail says that she's unable to help Pinocchio and that the Blue Fairy is still sleeping, Pinocchio asks what he's supposed to do with his foot stuck through the door, to which she replies: "[[DeadpanSnarker Have fun counting the ants passing by on the ground]]".
* Although the Coachman remains loathsome and terrifying, he admittedly gives a good zinger when Pinocchio questions why the donkey he's riding is crying, and the Coachman replies "Let him cry, he'll laugh when he gets wedded!"
* When Pinocchio turns back into a puppet after the attempt of drowning him, he has an amusing interaction with the man who wanted to make a drum out of his skin, starting off with him explaining how the Blue Fairy's fishes ate his donkey exterior and one of them was kind enough to eat off his tail making the man [[NauseaFuel very disgusted]], prompting him to say: "From now on I swear I will never taste fish again, I would hate cutting up a fried mullet or a hake and find a donkey's tail inside its body!"
