!! Series-wide
* Throughout the series, there are field events where you encounter a squirrel and are given the option to pet it. Attempting to pet the squirrel causes it to run off with one of your [[EscapeRope Warp Wires / Ariadne Threads]]. This started off as a one-time joke but soon became a RunningGag. Notably, in at least one version of the event, if you try to pet it when you don't have any Wires/Threads in your inventory, it will scurry around in your inventory and leave ''without taking anything''.

!!Etrian Odyssey I

* The fact that the Medic is actually one of the best ''offensive'' classes in the game. And best ''physical'' offense, no less, meaning [[MusclesAreMeaningless even the more lithe-looking Medics]] can [[CombatMedic bludgeon monsters to death with damage that rivals that of Landsknechts and Ronin]].
!!Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl

* In ''The Millennium Girl'', Simon and Raquna enter Frederica's cryogenic sleep chamber from the nearby room. How does Arthur join in? By ''crashing through the ceiling window''.
* Some of the response options qualify. You could have the Highlander want to lie down in Frederica's cryogenic pod after meeting everyone, or you could have him eat the Crabapples you got for a quest, in response to your client telling you to hand them over.
** When Raquna's family sends her (and you, through association) an ice-cream maker, the party tries it out at once, but isn't doing too well by the time you are given a DialogueTree. The last suggestion, making Arthur use his ice magic on it, ''encases the whole cream maker in an ice block.'' Cue Simon {{Facepalm}}ing.
** One event has Raquna getting her leg stuck in a ditch because of her armor. One of the options is get the ground wet, which obviously wouldn't work, and upon selecting this options you do it by pouring your drink on her leg. This accomplishes nothing, and sends you back to the original dialogue options, letting you do ''[[{{Troll}} the exact same thing again.]]''
* In the artbook that comes with the preorder of the game, there's the comic where Frederica needs some real food. When Raquna cooks and everyone digs in, Frederica ''[[StatusEffects gets poisoned]]'' due to Raquna being a LethalChef, and [[TheMedic Simon]], of all people, is calling for a Medic.
* [[ChildMage Arthur]] explains how his alchemy works in BuffySpeak:
--> '''Arthur''': I just go "Zoom!" and it goes "Whoosh!" and then "Bam!" and the enemies are like "Noooooo!" and I'm all "Hahaha!"
** In a similar fashion, when going to rest for the first time during the quest to spend [[MarathonLevel five consecutive days]] [[BottomlessBladder on the eighth floor]], this is how he explains making a sleeping bag:
--> '''Arthur''': It's easy! Just roll it out like 'bam!' then tie it down like 'wham!' and then you lie down like 'oooooh!'
* There's an event in the second stratum where a character in the party can VineSwing. If the [[TheStoic Highlander or a character in Classic Mode]] does it, after his or her TP is restored, you have the option to [[NotSoStoic have that character]] [[{{Franchise/Tarzan}} yell]]! Enemies ambush the party if you choose "Yes".
* Anytime Valerie the pub owner shudders whenever the requests involve getting materials out of bugs.
* When Frederica feels frustrated that she still can't remember anything about her past life, Raquna wonders if there's anything they can do for her. One of the Highlander's dialog choices is, [[TapOnTheHead "Would hitting her on the head work?"]]
-->'''Raquna''': Wh-what!? No! [[ThisIsReality That's just a myth!]] And besides, I'm sure she's been hit on the head enough times while we've been fighting monsters.
* Making Frederica turn ''really'' red on the face when pointing out her concern for Simon walking (and talking) while reading from his book.
** It happens again when she wishes to be called with an AffectionateNickname and you end up choosing the option, "Alright, Frederica." The rest of the team is visibly disappointed.
* The pub owner asks you if it's so easy to disguise as herself. Say yes and she warns you not to do it.
* There's an old sword in the first Stratum the party can find. If you bring it into the bar and talk with one of the regulars who owned that sword, he will ask for it back. When you give it to him, the game tells you in "[Party member] does X" format that he grabs the sword and ''hugs it''.
* Arthur happily compares Austin to Simon. If you agree with him, you can tell Simon is slowly slipping into TranquilFury...
* Valerie, in a post game quest, asks you to go fix the [[BuffySpeak "el-lava-tore"]].
* After beating Alraune, you can get a dialogue choice where you say that the boss was cute, exasperating the rest of the team.
* Shilleka snippily comments "Next time, you should buy something" if you enter and leave her shop without doing anything else.

!!Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight

* It is always blackly amusing to bait [=FOEs=] into falling off the dungeon in the Fourth Stratum.
* Any dialogue choice that makes Flavio feel like a ButtMonkey.
** Notable mentions are how Hanna and Quona compliment him. Hanna says that he's so useful around the house that he will become a very good house''wife'' that Arianna compliments him, which he is initially embarrassed of before complaining about being a housewife (made even worse when Hanna comments no woman [[KickTheDog likes a complaining husband, which further drags him down]]). Quona admires his skills that she is set on becoming just as good as him, prompting Arianna to root for her to defeat and ''give him a good trashing''. Flavio is horrified.
* Arianna's utter lack of fear the first moment the familiar deer FOE shows up. She's more excited with the fact they can get a good load of venison from it until Flavio pulls her back from la-la land.
* The reason why Chloe wants to tag along with the protagonist and the others? She wants to study his transformation because ''it looks cool.''
* Lines uttered when a party member is confused are often this and borderline terrifying at the same time. Arianna's and [[TheStoic Chloe's]], on the other hand, are just plain hilarious.
--> '''Arianna''': Off with their head!
--> '''Chloe''': IT'S FUN! SO MUCH FUN!
** There are a few more great lines in battle. For example, one of the possible lines when the party comes across a shiny:
--> '''Chloe''': A rare one... I want it.
** There's also one of Chloe's lines if the party battles a boss:
--> '''Chloe''': Come at us! ...That's what Trand said.
* During the fifth floor of the labyrinth, a drunken customer at the bar mocks Arianna into having her serve him another drink. Flavio is initially disgusted and Arianna is slightly put off by him...before worrying that he is so helpless to order and going on a long list of healthy recommendations to help the drunk sober up with snacks. The drunk is left speechless and meekly thanks her while Flavio is surprised the oblivious girl utterly embarrassed him without meaning to.
* Flavio's extreme fear of spiders while investigating the second floor of Ginnungagap. Of course, you can tease him, [[WhatTheHellHero which at one point disgusts Bertrand]].
* Hanna the innkeeper jokingly commenting how explorers compared her to the 2nd Stratum's Flame Demon and that she thinks it's just a big beautiful woman like she is instead of a grotesque monster. Then you find out said boss is indeed chubby and [[SamusIsAGirl is a female]]...
* The various scenes from developing new dishes are a constant source of these, thanks in no small part to Regina's [[StraightMan put-upon reactions]] to the party's various shenanigans.
** Upon successfully developing the Horse Bao, Chloe and Flavio quickly scarf down the two buns that Regina prepared... only for her to point out that she thought that those two, split up, would be enough for the whole group. Flavio, of course, quickly stammers out an apology, at which point you get to choose one of two responses: "[[ThisIsUnforgivable I won't forgive you.]]", [[ButThouMust or "I won't EVER forgive you."]]
** After creating the Fried Whole Spider, the first thing Flavio does is fainting at the sight of it. On his behalf, Bertrand translates his reaction to "What the hell is this!?" Afterwards, when suggesting Regina to feed it to Flavio to get him over his fear, Bertrand once more on his behalf says "Don't".
** The kicker about the Fried Whole Spider in particular is that you can suggest it to Abigail for something to please her father during his birthday. Flavio is very quick to opposing the idea. This quest in fact happens ''right after you make said dish''.
** The Dangerously Flowering Tea puts the party on guard all because of experiencing its [[ThatOneAttack source's wrath]]. You can choose to warn everyone by saying "It's a trap!" despite Regina not thinking much about it. Then you can highly encourage Arianna to taste it, to the excitement of Bertrand (whom you can hear exclaiming cheers in his voice clips). With Flavio suckered into drinking the tea with Arianna, they both suffer the consequences... The tea was too sweet that they got knocked out.
*** Alternatively to the above, you can choose to drink it and give in to its sleep effect. Flavio will wake you up and warn you that he would die at the restaurant for falling asleep. It goes over Regina's head why that would be possible.
** The party is ''horrified'' when they see the Caterpillar Casserole and are rendered speechless (and so is Regina). All of the last options amount to "Let's eat," "We have no choice but to eat," and "[[ButThouMust ...Let's eat.]]"
* In the fourth stratum, there's a room where you can choose to kick a rock. If you do, it bounces off a tree and hits you square in the head for a bit of damage. But if you press A again, you get the option to "challenge" it. [[LeaningOnTheFourthWall Something that isn't lost on Flavio]]. If you do, you're given multiple options, including using your sixth sense to dodge it. If you choose that, the Fafnir Knight closes his eyes, anticipates the rock, and dodges it by half an inch. Everyone showers him with praise for dodging it...except Bertrand, who says he almost got excited because you dodged a pebble you kicked yourself.
* Chloe's utter obsession with the bird people of the fourth stratum. She constantly looks for a way to have them carry and fly her around.
* The quest "A Dinner for One" has you collect some really unhealthy ingredients to cook together for a wife to cook to her husband. Cass at first believes there is a way to make these highly lethal ingredients from being poisonous and the like. When you do deliver the ingredients and the woman runs off with them, Cass finds out in a cooking book that mixing them all together are ''meant to straight out kill'' the eater. He runs out and manages to talk down the woman from he and the guild becoming accomplices to her actions... [[{{Yandere}} Turns out she wanted to teach her husband a lesson for being with another woman behind her back]].
* Reaching the highest point of the fourth stratum, the group takes a little rest, fascinated how high up they are and that the view must be amazing, though Bertrand and Flavio are opposed to getting too close to the edges of the floor... [[OhCrap It's only then they notice Chloe was leaning too far out trying to touch a cloud behind them they all pull her back to safety]], much to her chagrin. After Arianna wonders what a cloud feels like, [[TooDumbToLive you can encourage her to do the same]], which excites her so much Flavio has to remind them all Chloe was about to fall down from a big height.
* The Labyrinth Housekeeping quest. You're told to clean out branches from growing abnormally large to block out the sun below. You only need to cut down 2 branches but you can find and cut an extra one that the quest doesn't indicate on your map. Cutting an extra one the size of a huge tree causes it to plummet down to the city. Once reporting to Cass, he is quite happy to hear a fellow he didn't like that much got a huge hole the size of a tree in his house thanks to that extra branch you couldn't pick that he rewards you with double the reward amount.
* In the fifth stratum, the group comes across a large box (noted to be sturdier than Flavio, who complains about the fact). Arianna happens to read whatever it's on it and deduces it's food, including the last one that sounds extremely gibberish to comprehend. [[FunnyBackgroundEvent In the background, Flavio looks exasperated]].
* Marion doesn't work too well with beasts all because she is ''deathly'' afraid and can't stand them. Even dressing up as one is enough to make her yelp.
* Some of the post game content.
** By now you should be familiar with a guild member named Tramonte going to big lengths to please her beloved Lilly to take a shine to him. His friend Marmott is always worrying about the hopeless guy risking his life every time a new stratum opens up. Then Marmott casually reveals Lilly is a ''[[BestialityIsDepraved bear beast]]''.
** Marion taking off her helmet to reveal the scar revealed by the fire dragon that decimated her whole guild. This is not funny on itself, but it is when you apparently enter the building without knocking on the closed door and she doesn't have it on. She's flustered, and you can even inquire her if she was teasing you.
* The Story Mode extra Voice Clips (which are better off being listened to rather than reading them here):
** At the 1st Stratum, Chloe gathers way too many rocks and tells the others the are different shapes like cats and meats. [[TheIngenue Only Arianna somehow is able to believe they do look like those]].
** At the 2nd Stratum, the group rests for a bit, so Arianna came prepared with UsefulNotes/TarotCards of all things. Flavio hushes her to put them away.
** At the 4th Stratum, Flavio gets allergies and sneezes. None of them is too worried about him going ill but rather they find his sneezes very cute-sounding, much to his dismay.
** At the 5th Stratum, Chloe is so amazed by the castle that Bertrand warns her not to make a nest. Flavio laughs and tells him not to joke about that. But apparently Chloe ''was'' already making a nest, so he suggest to move quickly so she doesn't get the chance.
** At the same place, Flavio get sick thinking about falling down all the way from the fifth stratum, but Bertrand says not to dwell on it. [[ComicallyMissingThePoint Arianna then points out that it would take them too long to hit the ground if they fell, and Chloe calmly reassures them they would just hit a branch on the way down]].
** Flavio complaining that the first floor is way too dangerous, suggesting them to stay cautious. [[AttentionDeficitOohShiny Right after, Arianna wanders off, distracted by the area]].
** Arianna checking Flavio's mapping skills and complementing how it looks so peculiar. He sheepishly reveals it is just a doodle.
** Flavio and Arianna whispering to each other how mystic Ginnungagap looks like, right before Flavio says "[[MediumAwareness it makes you whisper for some reason.]]"
** Bertrand taking his time to catch up with them inside the temple. Arianna admires how he has his own pace, but Flavio knows she's being too nice.
** Hanna commenting how Arianna reminds her of herself when she was young. Instead of freaking out at the implications, Arianna believes she will become a good mother.
** Bertrand commenting on Flavio and Hanna's laundry skills by saying he's going native.
** Hanna chewing out Bertrand (in her own way) that he needs to be a good father to Chloe, with him denying he's not her father.
** Arianna and Abigail getting into girl talk with the former showing the latter her hair product. Bertrand complains that is all they need for them to talk for a long while.
** Bertrand not wanting to shop but rather take a good nap. Abigail kindly suggests him a medicine that helps the taker ''never wake up again'' to have a pleasant nap. He is horrified at a loss of words.
** Abigail hurriedly tells Chloe not to break anything in the shop. Chloe promises it, but then she asks "can this spin? ...Oh." Followed by Abigail's lamenting to her dad.
** Arianna fawning, which stresses Regina since she gets in the way. It's not because the food Regina makes is delicious, but because she simply admires Regina's style.
** Regina kindly tells the group that she is thankful to have them fund the cafe, but it's no excuse to have "that lazy old man" take a whole seat to sleep.
** Arianna casually finds Chloe ''tied up'' to a chair, much to Flavio's surprise, and Chloe says she was punished. An angry Regina tells them she snuck into the kitchen and started feeding herself, leading Regina punishing her. Chloe exasperates her even more by showing no remorse and saying "it was delicious."
** Arianna asking Cass in wonder where he got that ingredient for cooking, which makes him ask what they feed her. As Flavio says they're equally confused, Chloe then says "even I can't eat rocks."
** Arianna thanking Marion for helping her out at exploring stuff since she was very inexperienced. Flavio comments he was scared if Arianna would go on a trip alone if it hadn't been for Marion stepping in to talk to her one-on-one, prompting Bertrand to say, "she's got guts."
** Chloe being amazed by the explorers visiting the Explorers Guild, which makes Marion suggest her to leave them alone and not wander off. Chloe being Chloe, she starts running away to go talk to people, stressing Marion and asking them where her guardian is. Flavio then tells Bertrand she was talking about him, to which he hisses "tell her he ''ain't'' here."
** Chloe being too forward and asking Minister Dubious about his mustache and how he takes care of it, horrifying Flavio.
* In one of the idle skits at the restaurant, Regina sings to herself before realizing you're there, and adamantly saying that you heard nothing.
* Upon hearing about how Regina managed to sway her relatives about not marrying her off against her will, she comments she may change her turn if she does find her real love (all the while blushing. [[ButThouMust No matter what option you pick]], Arianna will lament and beg Regina not to do "it" before Arianna does.
* The Ultimate Winged Warrior DLC has plenty of moments:
** The fact Cass can't believe there's a giant talking chicken at all.
** The fact there ''really'' is a giant talking chicken who is pretty eloquent and dramatic in his quest to prove he is the ultimate fighter by picking fights with others. Bertrand simply summarizes it as "so you're just like any monster."
** The fact it's Creator/PatrickSeitz putting up a chicken VerbalTic.
* The Hot Springs DLC is like a trainwreck of perversion.
** Arianna and Chloe decide to go into the newly dug spring first to try it out, the boys leave out the door. Flavio has [[CovertPervert trouble trying to hide his thoughts on the matter despite trying to play the respectful innocent type]] to the point Bertrand even lampshades it and gives him the nickname "Pervio". The protagonist can even suggest [[AllMenArePerverts peeking on them]], to Flavio flabbergasting over it.
** Bertrand is proven right, when the girls come under attack in the spring forcing the boys to intervene, Flavio's first thought ISN'T on the enemy in front of them and instead on Arianna's [[FullFrontalAssault naked front]] being exposed during the fight. She of courses politely rectifies the frog came from the back and not from the front, to Flavio's exasperation.
* When starting the Black Guardian's trial, the protagonist can say that his heart is pounding. Arianna somehow manages to misinterpret this as flirting, and insists that she only sees the protagonist as a friend. [[BlatantLies Despite the clearly delighted look on her face.]]

!!Etrian Odyssey III: The Drowned City
* With the introduction of subclasses, along with the Ninja and Buccaneer (Pirate) classes, it is possible to have a literal [[NinjaPirateZombieRobot Ninja Pirate]] or the other way around. Or a Robot (Yggdroid) Ninja or Robot Pirate.
** One particularly hilarious combo is a Farmer with the Ninja sub-class. Pack them with the Izuna skill and they can potentially InstantKill RandomEncounters up the wazoo thanks to their greater LUC (boss fights are still not recommended, though). If that Farmer happens to look like [[Literature/AliceInWonderland Alice]], you can pretend she's casting [[Franchise/ShinMegamiTensei Die For Me!]]
* One of the first enemies you encounter is a Deadly Durian. Durians in real life are already memetically bad enough with their spiky husks and notoriously pungent smell; now imagine this stinky spiky fruit ''[[CrossesTheLineTwice actively trying to kill you]]''. Moreso when you look at the full sea map and realize that the game takes place in what is effectively Southeast Asia, where durians come from.

!!Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan

* At the end of the mini-comic that comes with the artbook, there's a panel that has characters from previous games representing the ItsEasySoItSucks side of the fanbase protesting the new Casual difficulty. They're all BoundAndGagged in an alley near the AdventureDuo [[TakeThat while still holding their pickets]].
* Wynne's infamous Maze 1, [=B2F=] line:
-->'''Wynne''': "But I gotcha back when it comes ta weapons and armor! I gotta lady boner harder dan steel for dat stuff!
** In a later conversation, she tries to sell you a [[JokeWeapon giant boomerang made out of scrap and a "paddle-ball flail."]]
* Fans of hentai may find it hard to take the Landsknecht's elemental damage debuff attack seriously, as it is called ''[[AccidentalInnuendo Mind Break]]''.
* Dalla wishes to celebrate your progress for making it into the Scarlet Pillars. Remember that she has a portrait with a hearty smile while she says…this.
-->'''Dalla''': I think a celebration is in order. We just got a fine ostrich, so I'll go out back and ''wring its neck for you''.
* Kirtida's [[WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes response to the moth egg quest]], after you accept it. She put the quest's description way too high so no one else would see it. She is absolutely terrified of the thought of you bringing the egg to her that she ''implores'' you to not try too hard.
** And when you turn in the quest, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7w8SAqs1_eo this]] starts playing.
* While escorting Wynne during the ''Small flowers needed!'' quest, given what you'll be doing, and the cheerful dialog, there's something a but tensely hilarious about picking flowers '''''while a Bloodbear is on your tail'''''! %% And this can come to bite you while picking at the third field, since you get into a scripted encounter, '''and that very Bloodbear''' could join in. And you can't run away!
* After the Sentinels start to inhabit Tharsis, a Vessel becomes jealous that one of them joined with his guild and has become the center of attention... and then he exclaims that he's jealous because he wants to have and ''pet'' their fur so badly.
* [=B2F=] of the Echoing Library has your party coming across a mechanical bookshelf with four switches, with the clue revealed a little further in the maze. Press them in the right order and you'll get money. Do it wrong, and the bookshelf [[ThrowTheBookAtThem spits its literary works at your party members]]. They take damage of course, but [[AmusingInjuries the descriptions on the attacks to the victims are practically comical]].
* After you unlock the final class, one appears as a patron at the bar, where he goes on how an Imperial knight's drive blade is as important as his life, and it's vital for their honor to fight using it and it alone... A moment later, though, he admits he was just trying to sound cool and the truth is that they're ''[[{{BFS}} too damn heavy]]'' to dual-wield with anything.
* A very picky guest in one of the late-game quests is constantly unsatisfied with the meals offered, despite the party bringing him food that fits his descriptions. Dalla decides to take matters into her own hands. [[NoodleIncident What she actually cooks up for him is never detailed, but it has him fleeing the inn in agony.]]

!!Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth

* Absolutely nothing is stopping you from using extreme examples of CrossdressingVoices on ''anyone in your guild!''
* Regarding individual voices:
** The "Timid" option (#8) has your character sometimes calling the enemy "Bully!" and "You butthead!"
** The "Villainous" option (#20) has "READY, BASTARDS?!" as one of its demo lines.
** The "Sassy" option (#38) gives your character some amusingly snarky lines:
---> ''(when executing a Union Skill or being chosen for one)'' "''Ugh'', do I ''have'' to?" / "Fine! How's this?" \
''(when receiving healing while in the field)'' [[UngratefulBastard "I didn't ask for this."]][[note]]And yes, ''reviving them'' can trigger this.[[/note]] \
''(when an ally dies)'' [[NoSympathy "Aww, my toy broke."]] \
''(when leveling up a skill, in a tone that borders on sarcastic)'' "I see!"
** The "Sultry" option (#40) has your character letting out an over-the-top and ''very'' suggestive "Sooooo gooooood!" every time you level up one of their skills. Have fun playing the game in public!
* Thanks to the ability to completely change the job classes of your party members, you can have some amusing setups, like the Therian Dragoon Cannon-bearer Grandmother. Enjoy her battle cry of "UNLEASH THE BEAST!" as she fires her [[{{BFG}} Buster Cannon]]!
* Necromancers have [[ImprobableWeaponUser coffins as their primary weapon type]]. You are free to imagine one beating the enemy over the head with an entire coffin every time they use the basic attack command. Adding to the hilarity, Coffins are one of the faster weapons with a ''positive'' weapon action speed value. Yes, this means that Necromancers can take a swing deceptively fast with those coffins.
* Masurao can wield up to ''[[DualWielding four blades]]'' at the same time and attack with all of them. It's plausible that they're taking out one or two blades at a time to strike in rapid succession, but it easily provokes the imagery of [[ImplausibleFencingPowers a humanoid with the usual two arms and two legs somehow being able to handle all of those blades simultaneously]], possibly while gripping one of the blade handles between their teeth ([[https://imgur.com/u1UdhMu A sketch]] from the artbooks shows a Masurao actually doing just that). And by quad-wielding blades, [[GlassCannon the user has no armor]], implying that they're fighting in only their underwear or [[FullFrontalAssault in the nude]].
* On the first floor of the Tutelary Forest, your party will come across a turtle that's very territorial about a piece of coin you find in front of it. [[FailureIsTheOnlyOption No matter what you try with the first three options]], the turtle is far too smart to be outsmarted and bites your pick's fingers multiple times. The party then gets very serious about the coin that the main battle theme ''[[ThemeMusicPowerUp starts playing]]'' while you come up with a move to get to the coin. Eventually, all is settled by [[BoringButPractical simply picking the turtle from behind and placing it away from the coin]].
* A similar event occurs on 4F, where you can try to get some fruits being guarded by a monkey that the game describes as having a "shit-eating grin". Every failed attempt just results in the monkey laughing at your efforts.
* The dungeon events are rife with moments like these. One has you inspecting a suspicious statue. You note how cute it is. You can continue to observe it, feeling cautious...
-->"... Yup, it's pretty dang cute."
* After reaching 7F, one of the quests you get involves Jenetta having a fondness for someone named Friedrich, and when you talk to her she asks you to bring her some materials so she can make a gift for him so that he'll stay at her inn every day. As it turns out, Friedrich is a ''[[BaitAndSwitch cat]]'', one that she wants to have stay at her inn like several other cats already do, and the materials she asked you for (Forest Wheat and Meat) are used to make cat food.
* In the second stratum, you can knock those huge rock pillars ''onto [=FOEs=]''. The victim ''will'' take damage (about ''a quarter'' of their HP, as shown when the HP bar appears over their field model) and they will become too dazed to move anymore.[[note]]This only half-applies to the 3x3 Primoridiphant FOE, though; it will take damage and be briefly stunned, but it will continue to pursue you.[[/note]]
* After feeding a Forest Hen five times throughout the Jagged Reach, it starts following you around and you escort it to the inn. Normally, after what's happened with the previous Forest Chicken, you'd expect to get more eggs every third day. But come the day where you collect your ingredients, and the Forest Hen has spat up some fish. Jenetta's about as puzzled as the player themselves.
* After beating the second stratum's endboss, you gain access to [[PrestigeClass Legendary Titles]]. Egar explains how they work, and also points out that the Titles can be renamed however you want. The examples he gives include Fire Slinger, Zap Queen, and... ''Stabdaddy''. Which becomes doubly hilarious because Egar is a father himself.
* Speaking of titles, Solor makes fun of the Undead King's title when he starts speaking to the party while Lili and herself are with them.
* A quest unlocked at the third stratum is named "[[MemeticMutation Spooky Scary Skeletons]]". While it seems like an ordinary quest under a witty name, if you go the extra mile to record the third skeleton (i.e. defeat an FOE), the quest NPC gets an extra line of dialogue telling how she told her son "that there's a skeleton inside of him", scaring the living daylights out of him.
* One of the quests unlocked after the 3rd stratum involves Lili asking you to help her find something to make into a present for Solor. If you present her with a branch from one of the Chop points, [[https://imgur.com/Amectft her reaction]] is amusingly snarky.
--> '''Lili''': Yep. Just what I wanted. A branch... for Solor. What am I supposed to do with this, spank her...?
** This ties into her comment about the golems on the first stratum and how they look kind of spankable to her.
* While exploring the third stratum, one of the bar patrons you can talk to is a "pouting Brouni" who complains about being made fun of by Celestrians. What happened to said Brouni? According to them, a Celestrian came by and ''cuddled them for a nap''!
--> '''Pouting Brouni:''' "What am I, a body pillow!?"
* It is possible for Ghosts to possess[[note]]Their possession skill causes the target to suffer any damage the user takes[[/note]] ''your Dragoons' bunkers''.
* Anyone who's played the series long enough knows to never trust squirrels, as they are notorious for field events in which they steal the player's [[EscapeRope Warp Wires / Ariadne Threads]]. In the locked-off section of the 2nd stratum, there are Fire Squirrel enemies that can [[CrossesTheLineTwice destroy your Ariadne Threads WITH A BATTLE SKILL]]. Even more blackly amusing: Fire Squirrels only use their Thread-burning skill when they are the last enemy in their formation, almost as though it was a gesture of spite over losing the fight.
* In the fifth stratum, you'll encounter Steel Acorns that occasionally "square up" one turn and then [[TakingYouWithMe explode]] the next, attempting to inflict the Stone ailment to the entire party, but without doing any damage at all. However, Stone status got a {{Nerf}} in this game by not being counted as death and by becoming temporary, wearing off after a random number of turns or after the battle ends. So if the only enemies left are Steel Acorns and they "square up", you can sit back and relax as [[StupidSacrifice they pointlessly explode and give you the win]], and imagine your squad of fighters turning to stone with smug grins on their faces knowing they'll just turn back to normal and continue on their way seconds later.

!! ''Etrian Odyssey Nexus''
* When you first meet Vivian the innkeeper, not only is she incredibly lazy and sleepy, she has a fat cat, Mr. Merlin, resting on top of her head. Only when Mr. Merlin greets you with a hearty "Mrrrrow!" does she agree to open the inn up for you.
** In one conversation, Vivian points out that Merlin has six toes on one of his paws, and elaborates on how rare that is and how touching a six-toed paw brings good luck. If you say that you want to touch, she'll ask Merlin...whose version of a "no" is a simple "meow." She then says [[HypocriticalHumor you'll just have to find another six-pawed cat somewhere, in a tone that implies that it's that easy to find another one]].
* Kvasir mentions that he's been [[PersonaNonGrata banned from every country he's visited]]... because he went [[NakedPeopleAreFunny streaking]] in each and every one of them.
* The Ninja class returns, and while Buccaneers and Yggdroids don't, their portraits are available as DLC. And there's also the Vampire "subclass" that you can activate by equipping a specific accessory. So now you can have, in a way, a Ninja Pirate Zombie or a Ninja Zombie Robot.
* One of Kvasir's post-quest dialogues involves him [[DirtyOldMan commenting of his love for schoolgirls]]. The final dialogue response to this pretty much speaks the player's mind:
-->>"I get you."\
>"I don't get you."\
>'''"I'll report you to the authorities."'''
* The "Quirky" voice option. It's GratuitousEnglish galore in a [[NoDubForYou Japanese-voices-only]] game. Hearing a Japanese ''seiyuu'' cheerfully say "Whaaaat?", "Very easy, ne!", or "NEVER GIVE UP!" is sure to put a grin on your face.
