''Unforgettable'' is a 2017 {{thriller}} film starring Creator/RosarioDawson and Creator/KatherineHeigl.

Julia Banks (Dawson) is settling into her new life, having gotten engaged to David (Creator/GeoffStults), a divorced man with a young daughter from his marriage to Tessa (Heigl). At first, things appear to be amicable between Julia and Tessa, but it soon becomes clear that she isn't over her marriage to David ending....and that she'll do whatever she has to in order to reclaim her family.

!!This film contains examples of:

* TheBabyTrap: After he broke up with her, Tessa intentionally got pregnant with David's baby so he'd stay with her, on her mother's advice as a means to insure this. However, this only extended their relationship for a time, and they got divorced when their daughter was fairly young.
* BettyAndVeronica: Julia (Betty) and Tessa (Veronica) over David (Archie).
* BigFriendlyDog: To show how much of a complete family Julia, David, and Lilly have become, the end scene reveals they got a big, friendly husky.
* CatFight: Happens between Julia and Tessa during the film's climactic scene.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Julia has one, due to her abusive ex-boyfriend's continual stalking of her.
* DeathGlare: Tessa gives these a lot.
* DestructoNookie: Julia and David accidentally destroy a lamp having sex in the bathroom at a friend's party.
* EvilDetectingDog: Shortly after Julia, David and Lilly have adopted a husky, the family pet is later shown barking at someone knocking on the door, who is revealed to be [[spoiler: Tessa's equally controlling mother coming to visit]].
* EvenEvilHasStandards: When Tessa pressures a frightened Lilly into horse riding and Julia has to intervene, Tessa's mother calls out to her daughter, "That was beneath you!" Though it's unclear whether she's disappointed in her daughter's overbearing attitude or perceived lack of assertion against Julia.
* GoodColorsEvilColors: In an interesting subversion, Tessa is the one seen wearing white or at least bright colors the most, while our hero Julia is usually clad in blues, blacks, or purples.
* HeirloomEngagementRing: Julia was proposed to with David’s grandmother's wedding ring. It is later stolen by Tessa, who is caught wearing it in the finale.
* JumpScare: When Julia goes to help David, a [[ScareChord scare chord]] is heard at the very instant Tessa is shown to be awake and standing at the doorway clutching a knife in her hand.
* KnifeFight: Happens twice: between Julia and Michael, and Julia and Tessa.
* MissingChild: The thought of losing your child in a very heavily crowded public area and not being able to find them. Julia goes through this when she accidentally loses Lilly at the fairground and panics.
* ModestOrgasm: David and Julia having rough passionate sex in the bathroom is shown with close ups of Julia's face juxtapositioned with Tessa's face as she masturbates while seducing Julia's abusive ex into her evil plan over Facebook.
* MoodWhiplash: The movie has a scene in which Julia and Tessa are having dinner, where Tessa reveals that she was nervous to meet her, and it appears that they might have a friendship building... until she reveals that she had thought she and David were on the road to getting back together before he met her.
* MyBelovedSmother: Tessa's domineering mother is certainly one, Tessa is well on her way to being one.
* NotQuiteDead: After getting beaten and having her head cracked into a glass picture frame during the climactic fight, Tessa falls to the hall floor, appearantly unconscious. When Julia goes to the living room to check on David, Julia appears in the doorway holding a knife.
* NotWhatItLooksLike: Played for drama. When Julia and Tessa argue over Lilly's well-being, Tessa pulls a WoundedGazelleGambit in which she acts panicked and deliberately trips and falls down the stairs, hurting herself. Then David arrives home and with Julia on the stairs and Tessa injured on the floor, making it look like Julia hurt her when she was innocent.
* TheOphelia: With her long, flowing white outfits and blonde hair, crazy attitude, and strange sayings, Tessa fits this trope to a tee.
* TheResenter: As the plot goes forward, Tessa gets more bitter over the divorce.
* RichBitch: Tessa certainly comes across as this. Also, Tessa's mother is this as well.
* SequelHook / HereWeGoAgain: Six months after the film's events, Julia, Lilly, and David have gotten over [[spoiler: Tessa's psychotic behavior and death]]. Guess who shows up at the door? Tessa's equally controlling and psychotic mother, who wants to see her granddaughter.
* TraumaticHaircut: Lilly has this inflicted upon her by her mother Tessa shortly after disobeying her by going with Julia instead of obeying her mother during horse-riding lessons.
* WhatHaveIBecome: Tessa has one of these during the film's climax when she sees her own bloody, psychotic face in the mirror she has Julia pinned against.
* WomanScorned: Tessa is not happy that Julia has David and her daughter, which kicks off the whole movie.
* WoundedGazelleGambit: Tessa pulls this to get Julia in trouble... just as David gets home.
