3Lárus Skjaldarson (Stefánsson) is a frustrated city slicker engineer and family man who is fired from his job after confronting him for having sex with his wife. Desperate to get by, he goes to his dying father for advice, and his father tells him to go to the village of Búðardalur and help the mayor, Markell, to start up a slaughterhouse. Unfortunately, Lárus doesn't know what he's doing and gets caught up in a political game between the people in the town.
