Fright Night 2: New Blood is a 2013 sequel to the 2011 remake of Film/2011. In reality, it's more or less another remake, except this time the vampire is a woman.

Unlike the first film, this film was distributed by Creator/TwentiethCenturyFox. Coincidentally through Disney's purchase of Fox, Disney now owns both Film/2011 and this film.

----
!!This film provides examples of:

* BeethovenWasAnAlienSpy: Gerri is strongly implied to be none other than UsefulNotes/ElizabethBathory.
* BloodBath: The vampiress regularly lures in victims to drain them of their blood and bathe in it to restore her youthful appearance, and even has a giant Roman bath filled with blood hidden in a catacomb. She's all but stated to be Elizabeth Bathory as well.
* CasualHighDrop: Gerri the vampiress casually jumps several stories down from a balcony with a garbage bag wrapped corpse draped over her shoulder.
* CrossMeltingAura: Charley tries to ward off Gerri with a Bible after she suddenly showed up in his girlfriend's dorm room. Gerri just grabs hold of it to "prove" that she's not a vampire, then a few seconds later waves Charley goodbye with a cross-shaped burn on her palm.
* DaywalkingVampire: Gerri/Bathory's goal is to become invulnerable to sunlight by completing a BloodMagic ritual that requires a VirginSacrifice.
* DepravedBisexual: Gerri is a bisexual vampire who's shown seducing both men and women, using this to drink their blood (often lethally).
* DisposingOfABody: Charley sees Gerri disposing of one of her victims after she makes sure there are no cops around, wrapped up in a garbage bag.
* EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette: Gerri is very pale with midnight black hair, and a vampire. Jaime Murray's trademark looks were certainly put to good use.
* EyeScream: Charley attacks Gerri by jamming a crucifix in one of her eyes. This does slow her down briefly, but she just repairs herself.
* FanDisservice: Charley watches as Gerri gets a beautiful young woman aroused using her telepathy then also undresses her by telekinesis. It becomes abruptly far less sexy when the woman gets her throat cut and is hung upside down fully nude, with her blood draining into a tub that Gerri then bathes in for restoring her youth.
* GasStationOfDoom: The first vampire attack takes place at a deserted gas station. The victim manages to set the monster on fire by blowing up her car with with a ReusableLighterToss, but this only slows it down briefly.
* GenderFlip: It's supposedly a sequel to the 2011 remake of the 1985 movie, but it's really just another remake with Jerry (renamed Gerri) as a female vampire. Oh, and it's set in Romania instead of the United States.
* GirlOnGirlIsHot: Charley watches in astonished fascination as two women make out in the room opposite from his with the window open as they kiss and undress each other before one bites her lover.
* HolyBurnsEvil: Played straight with holy water and holy ground, but double subverted in one instance. The teen protagonist tries to prove that the teacher is a vampiress by warding her off with a bible, but she grabs it with no problem. Then right before she leaves she flashes the minor cross-shaped burn on her palm. Unusually, even a cross tattoo harms them, as vampire learns the hard way after he attacks Peter Vincent. Realizing this, Peter shoves his face against it repeatedly, which burns him greatly.
* HotTeacher: Gerri is a professor of history and art at a Bucharest college. Of course, she just uses this to lure in young male victims.
* InterruptedIntimacy: During an evening excursion, Charley walks in on Gerri going down on a male student. She notices Charley and flashes her black eyes at him. This same student later ends up missing.
* LesbianVampire: More of a bisexual vampire, but Gerri vamps on several women in scenes that are played up very erotically, while also seducing men.
* LifeDrinker: Gerri/Bathory needs blood to restore her youthful appearance or she'll rapidly wither away into an old hag.
* LickingTheBlade: Gerri uses this to mock Peter after his attempted staking of her fails because his aim was off by a few inches, tearing it out of her chest and licking the blood-stained edge.
* MissingReflection: Variation, with vampires not showing up on cameras. In the intro, this leads to a girl being attacked in a convenience store looking she's being held up to the ceiling by nothing but thin air on the security cam.
* NoOntologicalInertia:
* OhCrap: Peter Vincent's appropriate reaction after his attempted staking of Gerri fails is a muffled "Oh, shit!".
* OneWingedAngel: While fighting Peter Vincent in the climax, Gerri just drops all pretense and transforms into some sort of baldheaded bat-monster.
* OurVampiresAreDifferent: Vampires here are harmed by crosses or holy water and can't go into holy ground. They don't show up on cameras either, and also sleep in coffins. Wooden stakes can kill them, but it has to pierce the heart. They can turn into a monstrous form. They also have telepathy and telekinesis, using them with victims. Also, they are normally harmed by sunlight but can become immune through draining a virgin born at midnight under the blood moon. They can also quickly heal from most injuries and use echolocation like a bat. Here, anyone bitten becomes a vampire automatically themselves too.
* ReusableLighterToss: A young woman is attacked by a vampire at a deserted gas station who crawls on top of her car. She drops the fuel dispenser in the process, creating a pool of gasoline which she then sets on fire with a zippo lighter after running away.
* SchoolForScheming: Gerri is a vampire who starts working as a history professor at an international school in Bucharest to get access to more victims.
* SinisterSubway: One of the vampire attacks takes place in the subway. The main characters have to jump out of the carriage and walk along the tracks to escape.
* SuperSenses: Gerri the vampire uses echolocation to chase down the heroes in a subterranean labyrinth, much like a real bat.
* UnexpectedVirgin: Despite being a college student and in a relationship with Charley, it turns out Amy's a virgin, making her a candidate for Gerri's ritual since she'd also been born the right time.
* VampiresSleepInCoffins: Charlie tries to hide in Gerri's coffin to witness her next BloodBath ritual. She notices and tries to eat him before he narrowly escapes by using his camera flash against her.
* VillainOverForDinner: Right after escaping from Gerri's lair after Charley witnesses her killing someone and bathing in their blood, he finds Gerri in his girlfriend's dorm room already waiting for him.
* VirginSacrifice: Gerri can grow immune to sunlight through drinking the blood of a virgin born at midnight born under the blood moon.
* WoodenStake: One of the vampire weaknesses, but it's not as easy as it looks. When Peter tries to kill Gerri with a stake, he misses her heart by several inches.
-->Gerri: [after LickingTheBlade] ...missed!
