5In 1960s New York City, a group of UsefulNotes/{{Romani}} (gypsies) has to deal with the passing of their so-called "king" Zharko Stepanowicz (Creator/SterlingHayden), who left the position of leadership to his grandson Dave (Creator/EricRoberts), who's reluctant to take on the role. Dave's father Groffo (Creator/JuddHirsch), meanwhile, is angry that he was passed up for the role and tries to have his son killed out of resentment.
