An ongoing ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama'' [[https://m.fanfiction.net/s/12987510/1/ fanfic]] written by Creator/{{StayOuttaMyShed}}.

Taking place sometime after ''Pahkitew Island'', this is a {{Continuation}} fic that takes place in a new Total Drama season. As the title implies, the cast consists of twenty-four characters from the show's three generations and pits them against each other. It's also treated as a SpiritualSuccessor to ''World Tour'' as the season takes place in another trip around the world, with the Jumbo Jet being rebuilt.

----
!!This fanfiction contains examples of:
* AbnormalAmmo: During the challenge in Cork, Ireland, Ezekiel (dressed as a leprachaun), shoots various types of shoes out of a bazooka at the other contestants. One of them lands a GroinAttack on poor Harold.
* AdaptationalNationality:
** While their ancestry was hardly discussed in the original show, Harold and Scott briefly talk of their Irish roots in the Cork challenge. Harold has a grandfather who was in fact from Cork, and Scott states that he has a great-grandmother who was Irish. The author states he had Harold's ancestry down due to his surname ([=McGrady=]) being of Irish origin.
** Anne-Maria identifies herself as Italian in this series, and as a HandWave, is in fact from New York, something that she reveals in the Venice challenge.
* AllLoveIsUnrequited: Rodney believes he and Amy are a couple, though the later is merely using him as an easily exploitable extra vote.
* AlmostKiss: Harold and Leshawna, interrupted by Chris when [[spoiler:Harold is eliminated and kicked off the plane.]]
* AmusingInjuries: This is [[SubvertedTrope subverted]] when [[spoiler: Harold is stomped on by Dakotazoid in Kyoto, resulting in him ending up in a wheelchair, Dakota feeling ''seriously'' guilty, and his team regretfully voting him off.]]
* AndroclesLion: An elephant in Namibia serves as this to DJ, becoming an HonourableElephant [[spoiler: after DJ cures it from its HatePlague induced madness]], and helping him out for the rest of the challenge.
* AnimalsHateHim: Discussed at several points throughout the series:
** Several of the eliminated contestants [[spoiler: notably Staci, Sammy and Lightning]], are implied to have been attacked by animals relating to the challenge after their respective eliminations.
** DJ discusses his animal curse from World Tour with Dawn in the L.A. challenge, and how contrived it seemed.
** This is enforced by Chris in the Namibia chapter, when he has a HatePlague unleashed onto the local wildlife, and forces the contestants to cure them as part of the challenge. Some of them end up befriending the contestants during the challenge.
* AscendedExtra: Amy, Anne Maria, B, Beardo, Brick, Dakota, Dawn, Rodney, Sammy and Staci all get the chance to compete on another season after only competing in one [[spoiler:(though it's subverted with Staci since [[HistoryRepeats she gets axed first again]])]]. Trent and Beth also qualify since they haven't competed since ''Total Drama Action''.
* AstonishinglyAppropriateInterruption: Right before [[spoiler:Scott and Courtney]] reveal to their former teams that [[spoiler:Dawn's got a crush on DJ]], the Boot of Shame kicks them out of the plane. [[spoiler:Dawn]] actually has to thank Chris for his timing.
** Averted [[spoiler: with Lightning's elimination as he [[OffhandBackhand blocks the boot]] from kicking him off before leaving on his own terms]].
* BackForTheDead: [[spoiler:Staci is eliminated first, just as she was in ''Revenge of the Island''.]]
* BasementDweller: [[spoiler:Max seems to be this if him taking Trent and Cody hostage in Montreal is anything to go by.]]
* BattleCouple: Shawn and Jasmine. Both are strong competitors on their own, but together they help their team win three challenges in a row.
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: Beardo {{lampshade|Hanging}}s this in the confessional early on in "California Hurls They're Unforgettable" after [[spoiler:he figures out that Sugar and Amy manipulated him into causing Cody's elimination to hurt Sammy]].
--> '''Beardo:''' ''([[CharacterTic makes deflating balloon sound effect]])'' When I got eliminated first back in the day, I remember getting home and being all bummed about all the things I missed out on experiencing. I told myself if I got a second chance, I'd have a nice full Total Drama experience! Guess I got it... be careful what you wish for, right?
* BeneathNotice: [[spoiler: The season's BigBad, Dave, operates as this, using his lack of challenge ability and playing the WoundedGazelleGambit to get the other contestants off his trail. Only Dawn ever truly suspects him of any wrong-doing.]]
* BewareTheNiceOnes: Dawn shows that she can be ''very'' aggressive when [[spoiler:someone shows interest or intends to manipulate a guy she likes.]] Anne Maria admits she is impressed by how aggressive Dawn gets.
* BeyondRedemption:
** [[spoiler:Sammy realizes that Amy will never change when the latter tells her that she should have died in the womb.]]
** By the end of her interview, with Truth or Hammer confirming every bit of her awfulness, even the sweet-minded Ella is forced to acknowledge [[spoiler:Amy]] as this.
---> '''Ella:''' That can't be right. I mean, she doesn't consider anyone a friend? She doesn't appreciate her fans? [[spoiler:She's spiteful towards her sister for no reason?]] It's horrible, her personality is horrible. She's horrible! She's an irredeemable monster!\
'''Topher:''' Oh, no. What took ya so long?
* BigBadDuumvirate: [[spoiler:Sugar and Amy]] take this role quite early on in the series, forming an alliance just before they get to Ireland. [[spoiler:However, Dave wrestles away control as the main antagonist after blindsiding the two and getting Amy sent home in "California Hurls, They're Unforgettable".]]
* BigfootSasquatchAndYeti: Chris seems to have found a way to get ''Siberian'' Yetis all the way down to ''Antarctica'' solely for the first challenge, and they become quite the obstacle for Team Radioactive.
* BlatantLies:[[spoiler:In "Friday Night Crackdown", Izzy and Jo both refuse to back up Sugar's claims about Dave being a secret villain while Izzy herself turns this back on her by claiming that everything that happened was all Sugar and Amy's doing. Jo did this mainly because she wanted to stay out of all the drama while Izzy admits in the confessional that she has her own plans for Dave.]]
* BrainBleach: B sees Sugar flirting with him in Colombia [[WeNeedADistraction (to distract him)]] as this, puking in the confessional after it's all done with.
* BrutalHonesty: [[spoiler:Amy gives rather blunt and callous answers during her Truth or Hammer interview regarding her history and relationship between her sister, Sugar, and her fans, much to the horror of Ella.]]
* TheBusCameBack: All the {{Ascended Extra}}s qualify under this.
** Ezekiel is used for the challenge in "The Luck of the Irish".
** The first aftermath features Geoff, Brody, Owen, Noah and Leonard as guests with Ella and Topher as the hosts.
** [[spoiler:"Max Mayhem" features Max and Scarlett and hints that they'll be causing trouble for the cast going forward.]]
** The second aftermath's guests consist of Bridgette, Eva, Jo, Sky, and [[spoiler:Josee due to her and Jacques making arrangements so she could appear instead of Zoey.]] Due to the aftermath's second chance challenge, [[spoiler:Izzy]] rejoins the game [[spoiler:while Jo is allowed to debut on a loophole.]]
** Cameron appears in "Friday Night Crackdown" to provide power armor for the contestants to use in the challenge. He also does commentary on the match alongside Chris and Chef.
* ChekhovsGun: Attention is oddly called to Dave's lemon scented hand sanitizer near the end of the Los Angeles chapter. [[spoiler:Him dropping it and returning to get it is what leads to him overhearing Amy badmouthing him.]]
* CurseCutShort:
** Chris pauses the footage mid-swear as [[spoiler:Sammy begins to call her sister a [[PercisionFStrike "fucking bitch"]] for her role in Cody's elimination.]] The footage resumes where it left off in the next episode.
** Courtney attempts to swear at Chris after he explains an ExactWords situation in the Kyoto challenge.
---> '''Courtney:''' Oh give me a break, you can take your stupid loopholes and [[AssShove shove 'em straight up your-]]\
'''Dawn:''' Excuse me, but I believe this can wait.
* CuttingOffTheBranches: In the Author's Notes of the first aftermath, he states that the winner's order goes as such: Owen won TDI, Beth won TDA, Heather won TDWT, Cameron won TDRI, Zoey won TDAS, Shawn won TDPI, and The Police Cadets won RR.
* DanceOff: This is that challenge for chapter 17 in Persopolis, Iran, with numerous dangers thrown in to each round to keep it "interesting". The dangers include a [[BearsAreBadNews bear with a mohawk]], Cannons, an [[ShockAndAwe electrified dancefloor]], before finally having [[PlayingWithFire pillars of fire]] to close things off.
* ADeathInTheLimelight: [[spoiler:"Gobble Gobble" has Scott and Courtney finally make peace with each other over what happened in ''All Stars'' and become an OfficialCouple but both end up getting voted off by their respective teams when their bickering earlier in the challenge ended up getting them both captured by the Turkish palace guards and costing their teams the challenge.]]
* DiscOneFinalBoss: [[spoiler:Amy, who's eliminated before the merge, thanks to being played by Dave of all people.]] The author even refers to her as such.
* EmancipatedChild: Beardo has apparently been living by himself for a while before the events of this season.
* EtTuBrute: Shawn has this reaction [[spoiler:after he figures out that Dave had him voted off.]] Dave goes through this as well when [[spoiler:he realizes Amy was just pretending to like him]].
* EveryoneCanSeeIt: It's incredibly obvious to everyone that [[spoiler:Dawn]]'s attracted to [[spoiler:DJ]] since they have a connection with each other. Ironically, ''[[spoiler:DJ himself]]'' can't see that since he's not interested in finding love with someone he has a few things in common with. Seeing that even ''Lightning'' figured it out and after getting advice from Chef, [[spoiler:Dawn]] eventually tells him how she feels.
* EveryoneHasStandards:
** Topher, despite his emulation of Chris, gets incredibly annoyed with Staci's lies, eventually forcing her to reveal why she does it so much. [[spoiler:He also grows to hate Amy just as much as everyone else.]]
** Everyone, minus Chris and Chef, in hearing range of [[spoiler:Amy telling Sammy that she should have died in the womb is appalled and disgusted at her saying this.]]
* EverythingsBetterWithRainbows: One of the markers for the Cork challenge is a rainbow, which the teams need to get to.
* EvilIsPetty: The reason that Owen, Noah, Geoff and Leonard aren't in this season is because Chris was mad at them competing in the ''Ridonculous Race''.
* {{Expy}}: The Samoan tribal chief the contestants are required to impress in "You've Gotta Be Kilikiting Me!" is explicitly mentioned by the author to be based off of Wrestling/RomanReigns, specifically a CompositeCharacter of his "Tribal Chief" gimmick and his role as [[Film/HobbsAndShaw Mateo Hobbs]].
* FightingIrish: Izzy channels her Irish descent into this during the Cork challenge. Which doesn't have the best outcome for her team.
* FrameUp: [[spoiler:Dave successfully frames Amy as the mastermind behind sabotaging Team Radioactive and eliminating Cody and Shawn. All of which, he was responsible for.]]
* GadgeteerGenius: B. It especially comes in handy for him this time as he creates a singing device that allows him to not get disqualified without having to actually speak.
* GenreSavvy: Harold displays this in the Kyoto challenge (see ShoutOut below), using his knowledge to help his team get the upper hand. Dakota mentions how Sam has taught her something similar, which does help her a bit.
* TheGhost: Mike, Justin, Sierra, and Zoey are mentioned at different points in the story but they don’t physically appear in it.
* GiantFootOfStomping: Dakota as Dakotazoid accidentally does this [[spoiler: to Harold]] in Kyoto. Once she comes round, she feels [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone incredibly guilty for what she did]], and does her best to apologise [[spoiler: to Harold and Leshawna]] after the matter.
* GilliganCut: After Shawn talks to Dave about his mood (since everything that happened on Pahkitew Island), Dave says that he's fine, but in the confessional:
--> '''Dave:''' I'm NOT doing fine.
* GoodFeelsGood: Lightning's arc throughout this season is to learn to be a team player, and he gradually comes around to it after some guidance from Brick.
* GracefulLoser: [[spoiler: As a sign as to how far he's come, Lightning accepts his elimination with honour and notes that he was [[TooPowerfulToLive too awesome]] for the competition.]]
* GranolaGuy: DJ has become this since the last time we saw him in the original series, choosing to have more vegetarian or vegan options wherever he can. [[spoiler: This allows him to [[ShipTease bond with Dawn]] part way into the series.]]
* GreenEyedMonster: [[spoiler:Dawn]] is far from pleased when Amy intends to make [[spoiler:DJ]] her boyfriend and warns her to abandon her plan or face her wrath.
* HatePlague: The challenge for the Namibia chapter is cure the local wildlife of this after uses his [[Recap/TotalDramaTheExFiles connections from Area 51]] to spray much of the Namib desert with it... and then get out of there before the Namibian government come looking.
* HatedByAll: [[spoiler:Amy becomes this by the time she's eliminated, to the point where she's always on the chopping block whenever Team Explosive goes to the elimination ceremony. The in-universe audience seems to hate her just as much as the other contestants as well. This is showcased when the Jumbo Jet arrives in Montreal, she's one of the very few contestants to be booed and jeered at by the fans at the airport. After telling Sammy that she should've died in the womb in front of everyone, all the remaining contestants on Team Old School and Team Radioactive do everything they can to make sure her team loses, and when they do, everyone except Sugar votes her off. Shortly after she gets the Boot of Shame, everyone on Team Explosive decides to break the good news to the other teams and celebrate her getting the boot. The only people liked her were Dave and Rodney, and even then she screwed that up with when they learn how much she actually despises them and was only using them to further herself in the competition.]]
* HistoryRepeats: A few throughout the series.
** Once again, [[spoiler:Staci is voted out first off in the series because of her constant lying.]]
** PlayedForLaughs when Chris gets a whole Braveheart-esque costume on for the ''Ireland'' challenge, getting the wrong location, albeit in a less blundering manner.
** Harold [[spoiler:is unfortunately his team's second boot and is eliminated in Japan ''again'' because of someone else's actions. This time however, it was unintentional on part of Dakotazoid not knowing what she was doing.]]
** B is once again gotten rid of by someone else's machinations, and is eliminated before he can speak.
** A redheaded character is once again manipulated by an antagonistic character into performing a StupidSacrifice to save another character in their team's elimination ceremony, though in this case it's [[spoiler:Rodney, rather than Harold.]]
** Subverted when [[spoiler:Dave is manipulated by a girl who uses his feelings to further her chances in the game: in this case, he gets her eliminated]].
** Yet again, [[spoiler:Izzy]] gets a spot back in the game after being eliminated earlier in the season.
** [[spoiler: Jo once again outlasts Lightning, though he leaves on a much higher note this time rather than complaining as he did in "All-Stars".]]
* HoistByHerOwnPetard: Amy [[spoiler:tries to keep Dave from double-crossing her by tricking him into thinking she likes him. He overhears her admitting this to Sugar and he goes through with his plan, sealing her fate.]]
* HulkingOut: Datoka now turns into Dakotazoid whenever she gets angry, in a ShoutOut to ''Comicbook/TheIncredibleHulk''.
* HypocriticalHumour: Scott dismisses Shawn's obsession with zombies, but is more than happy to talk about the "real" existence of Wendigos and Werewolves.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: Dakota unfortunately goes through this, trying to make friends after getting her Monster Form under control. [[spoiler:Unfortunately, she's eliminated fairly shortly into the season, in Madagascar.]]
* InSeriesNickname: After his failed relationship with Sky in ''Pahkitew Island'', Dave has been called numerous things since he returned to high school, which he lists in a confessional.
--> '''Dave:''' Now I can't go a day in school without hearing, 'Hey look, it's friendzone Dave!', 'How's it hanging, Dave the dateless?', 'Watch out everyone, Dave the Incel is coming through!'
* {{Irony}}:
** With the ShipTease between all of his other band members, Trent lampshades how it's ironic that he's the only one that ''might'' be single by the end of the competition, given that he was the first get an actual girlfriend.
** As Anne Maria points out after watching [[spoiler:Amy and Sammy's blow-up at each other]], given that her own team initially included [[TeamKiller Scott]], she never expected Team Radioactive to be [[OnlySaneMan the only calm team]] out of the bunch.
* IWishedYouWereDead: Averted. [[spoiler:Amy admits she wishes Sammy had died before they were born, cementing to her sister that she'll never change.]]
* JawDrop: This is everyone's reaction after Lightning impatiently flings his coin into the pot in the last part of the Ireland challenge.
* {{Jerkass}}: Amy, as per canon. Especially towards her sister.
* LeaningOnTheFourthWall: Staci mentions the fic's tropes page during the second aftermath and how [[spoiler:six tropes were added in regards to Amy admitting she wished Sammy was dead]].
* {{Leprechaun}}: [[spoiler:Ezekiel is forced to dress up as one in the Ireland challenge as part of a deal with the show to return him to his human form.]]
* LetUsNeverSpeakOfThisAgain: Chris enforces this after Montreal. [[spoiler:Given how two contestants were kidnapped, they had to skip a challenge, and two psychotic former contestants interfered, it's little wonder.]]
* LiteralMetaphor: The elimination method that this season has is the ''Boot of Shame'', which Chris gleefully uses as a means of booting people off the show when they least expect it.
* TheLoad: Staci, just as she was back in ''Revenge of the Island''. Amy becomes this to a lesser extent on her team due to her focus on beating out her sister and not being able to match her.
* LoonyFan: Trent, Harold, Justin and Cody seem to have experienced many of these after reuniting as part of the Drama Brothers. Many of them line part of the race in Kyoto and jump onto Trent's kart. [[spoiler:Harold is also dog piled by many of these after he's eliminated.]]
* LoopholeAbuse: Since B doesn't talk, let alone sing, he has a auto-tuned speaker to sing for him. Chris is initially skeptical about it, but as Dawn points out he never said that they had to sing with ''their own'' voice. [[spoiler:Amy and Sugar later take advantage of this to eliminate him.]]
* LoveIsAWeakness: Due to the constant BelligerentSexualTension between Scott and Courtney, they are prime targets for elimination for their teams, citing this trope as the main reason, with the two of them being distracted trying to outdo the other.
* MaliciousMisnaming: After Team Old School finds themselves in the middle of a losing streak, Chris "accidentally" calls them Team Victory.
* ManiacMonkeys: As per the Shoutout below, the teams have to go past banana peel-flinging monkeys in Kyoto.
* MythologyGag:
** Anne-Maria states she's from New York, a reference to her cameo appearance in [[Recap/RidonculousRaceAMillionWaysToLoseAMillionDollars the Ridonculous Race]].
** In "Total Drama Goes Bollywood", Dawn reveals that Chef's first name is Norbert, which is his name in ''WesternAnimation/TotalDramaRama''.
** The song in the first chapter published after the 2023 season's release contains the lyric "here to slay," with the narration even calling attention to it. This references the contentious lyric in the 2023 season's updated intro theme.
* TheNicknamer: Like in canon, Jo pretty much exclusively refers to people by derogatory nicknames such as "Wackjob" for Izzy or "Sour" for Sugar.
* NoSenseOfDirection: Amy got most of her team lost in Blarney castle during the Ireland challenge, which temporarily put them on the backfoot.
* NothingPersonal: Dave states this [[spoiler:after he convinces his new alliance to vote off Sammy, which he goes to great lengths to emphasise, saying that he was touched at how she came to check up on him during the Persopolis challenge.]]
* ObviousVillainSecretVillain: The obvious villain is Amy, who has [[TookALevelInJerkass somehow gotten even nastier]] following ''Pahkitew Island'' and dedicating herself solely to making Sammy's life miserable, [[spoiler:even going so far as to get Cody eliminated after his and Sammy's RelationshipUpgrade and telling Sammy that she wished she died in the womb]]. The hidden villain is [[spoiler:Dave, who worms his way into Amy and Sugar's alliance and has them eliminate Shawn out of jealousy that Shawn managed to get together with Jasmine while he failed to do so with Sky, gives Amy the idea to eliminate Cody to spite Sammy in the first place, and then double-crosses the two of them after hearing the two of them trash talk him, resulting in Amy's elimination]].
* PassThePopcorn: Anne Maria is shown eating a box of popcorn while watching Amy and Sammy blow up at each other after [[spoiler:Amy, Sugar, and Dave's alliance get Cody eliminated right after his and Sammy's RelationshipUpgrade]]. Lightning soon begins sampling some for himself only for the two of them to get admonishing looks from Brick and Dawn, at which point Sugar steals the box for herself. [[spoiler:The latter drops it in shock when Amy tells Sammy that she wished she died in the womb.]]
* PersonOfMassDestruction: Dakotazoid returns as this, and Dakota is not the least bit happy about it, since it comes about when she's enraged and can barely control herself in that form. [[spoiler: Unfortunately, this lack of control eventually gets her eliminated in Madagascar.]]
* PositiveFriendInfluence: Brick attempts to be this for Lightning, being around him more so that Lightning can learn about the importance of teamwork and try to be less of a lone wolf. Dawn even states that it is working on Lightning in Istanbul.
* PrecisionFStrike: There are occasional swears throughout the fic, the words Piss, Dick, and Crap seem to be dotted about in both dialogue and in song.
* PuttingTheBandBackTogether: Happens to the Drama Brothers sometime between ''Pahkitew Island'' and the start of the story, giving an early advantage to Harold, Trent, and Cody.
* ReallyGetsAround: Trent mentions that Justin had been between girlfriends after The Drama Brothers reunited.
* RelationshipUpgrade:
** [[spoiler:After their false start in ''All Stars'', Courtney and Scott finally make peace with each other and become a couple for real right before their elimination in "Gobble Gobble".]]
** This happens between [[spoiler:Cody and Sammy by]] "Total Drama Goes Bollywood".
** Averted for [[spoiler:DJ and Dawn]] in "California Hurls, They're Unforgettable". [[spoiler:After Dawn tells DJ she likes him, they decide to wait until the end of the game before they consider dating on account of the risks that come with it.]]
* RhetoricalQuestionBlunder: Harold does this a few times, filling things in with the real facts of what people are talking about. Just like the canon series, it gets on everyone's nerves very quickly.
* RunningGag: At several points thoughout the season, Trent is interrupted in the confessional by [[{{Troll}} Chris]], since he apparently forgot to lock the door. During one vote off, he leans against the door to try and make sure Chris doesn't pop in this time.
* {{Scotireland}}: Chris initially dresses up as [[Film/{{Braveheart}} William Wallace]], in the Ireland episode, which is lampshaded almost immediately by the teams, forcing him to switch up his costume.
* SelfServingMemory: Anne Maria blames Scott for her elimination back in ''Revenge of the Island'' just like everyone else on Team Radioactive who lost because of him. However, her elimination is the only one Scott ''didn't'' cause: she ''chose'' to quit for a fake diamond.
* ShipTease: Harold and Leshawna, Courtney and Scott, [[spoiler:Cody and Sammy, and DJ and Dawn.]] The first two even get back together while the second pair officially start dating.
* ShoutOut:
** Dakota becomes one to the ''ComicBook/TheIncredibleHulk'', as she now turns into Dakotazoid only when she [[HulkingOut becomes angry]].
** The Kyoto kart racing challenge is a blatant ''VideoGame/MarioKart'' reference, complete with the items.
** The opening scene shows Chris recreating {{Literature/Frankenstein}} with the rebuilt Jumbo Jet, though Chef mistakes it for a Literature/{{Dracula}} reference.
** During the Ireland challenge, Chris dresses up in a Film/{{Braveheart}} costume after mistaking Scotland for Ireland. During the introduction of Ezekiel, Beardo subtly references the Film/{{Leprechaun}} horror film.
** In Tennessee, Chris [[ElvisImpersonator dresses up as Elvis]] [[Music/ElvisPresley Presley]] at one point during a long joke of not having fuel to the desired places, and the final challenge involves Beth and Scott reenacting [[Film/{{Deliverance}} Dueling Banjos]].
** In Madagascar, the ''WesternAnimation/Madagascar1'' film is parodied numerous times, including the title, and with wildlife the teams encounter.
** Multiple in the Los Angeles chapter. Jasmine chases Brick through the ''Ride/StudioTour'' at Universal Studios, DJ and Dawn briefly pass Loona and Octavia from ''WebAnimation/HelluvaBoss'', Sugar spends the challenge hiding in a ''WesternAnimation/MinnieMouse'' costume. [[spoiler:Amy lands in Creator/KeanuReeves' swimming pool once eliminated.]]
** Several references are made to the ''Fanfic/TotalShuffledIslandSeries'', of which the author is a fan of:
*** After being the first contestant to be voted out again, Staci attempts to stowaway onto the Jumbo Jet similar to how she did in ''Total Shuffled World Tour''. Also, in the voting confessional, Dawn chooses to vote for her because she senses nothing but pain for Staci if she were to stay in the game any longer. This is referencing Staci's fate in that fic, [[spoiler:where she transforms into a werewolf-like monster after stowing away on the Jumbo Jet and ends up being heartbroken by Tyler when she learns that he loves Ella.]]
*** [[spoiler:Dave throwing Amy under the bus by claiming that she was the one responsible for all the things he suggested their alliance do]] is similar to Sugar doing the same to Scott during ''Shuffled World Tour''.
*** During the second aftermath, Izzy reveals that to help Staci with her lying problem, she's been dragging her along on several exciting experiences that are real, referencing the OddFriendship the two of them form during ''Shuffled All Stars''.
** In the second Aftermath, Ella's horrified realization that Amy is truly an irredeemable monster despite all her hopes otherwise mimics the Ethical Bug's same denouncement of Jack Horner from ''WesternAnimation/PussInBootsTheLastWish'' word for word, with Topher even adding on Jack's own mocking LampshadeHanging response.
** Several references to Main/ProfessionalWrestling are made in the Mexico City chapter as the challenge is themed around it. [[spoiler:Lightning references the infamous Wrestling/ScottSteiner math promo, Dave's elimination in the challenge references the 1 second Wrestling/SantinoMarella Royal Rumble elimination, Chris and Chef commentate on the challenge while dressed as Wrestling/JerryLawler and Wrestling/JimRoss respectively.]]
*** Even the various personas created by the contestants each reference a specific pro wrestler. [[spoiler:Or in Beardo's case, King from the ''Franchise/{{Tekken}}'' series.]]
** Two references to ''Series/BetterCallSaul'' related to the elimination in "Friday Night Crackdown." [[spoiler:Sugar references Chuck's chicanery speech when desperately trying to expose Dave's lies. Later in the post-elimination bonus clip, she drops in on Jimmy and Mike during the events of "Bagman." She also refers to Mike as [[Memes/BreakingBad Finger.]]]]
* ShownTheirWork: The Author goes out of his way to get as many of the geographical features of the episode's locations as correct as possible, from the landmarks to the local wildlife, only exaggerating certain features for the sake of the story.
* SiblingRivalry: Amy and Sammy's entire dynamic, to the point where both yearns to get the other eliminated.
* SingleTargetSexuality:
** Harold to Leshawna, as a somewhat {{Flanderized}} version of what happened in the canon.
** Cody having this attitude toward Gwen is later discussed by Leshawna, who's glad that he got over it.
* SmartBall: [[DumbMuscle Lightning]] [[{{Pun}} shocks]] everyone in "You've Gotta Be Kilikiting Me!" when he gives a lengthy and accurate description of the game of cricket.
* SongParody: As noted by the author, all of the songs in the story are parodies of existing ones.
** The song in Antarctica references "Let It Go," from ''WesternAnimation/Frozen2013''.
** Both the lyrics and the visuals described in the Kyoto song are a parody of the opening to ''Anime/{{Neon Genesis Evangelion}}''.
** During the music video in Colombia, the hang gliders turn into fighter jets while the song parodies [[Film/TopGun Danger Zone]].
** Fittingly during a heist themed challenge, the song in Turkey parodies "Last Surprise" from ''VideoGame/Persona5''. The characters even wear outfits referencing those from the game.
** To coincide with the pro wrestling themed challenge, the song in "Friday Night Crackdown" references the entrance theme for Wrestling/JohnCena.
** After being surrounded by Lions in "Brawl of the Wild", the contestants sing a parody of "Tainted Love by Music/SoftCell.
* SpannerInTheWorks:
** Sugar and Amy do this a lot during their time on the show, especially against Team Radioactive.
** [[spoiler: Jo seems to be getting into this after she joins the show halfway through, almost causing Lightning and Brick's friendship to fall apart, trying to mess with the Anne-Maria/Leshawna alliance, and [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking getting on Dave's nerves]].]]
* StunnedSilence: This is everyone's reaction to [[spoiler:Amy saying Sammy should've died in the womb, which leads to Teams Old School and Radioactive working together to ensure that Team Explosive loses and she gets eliminated]].
* StupidSacrifice: [[spoiler:Rodney]], whose manipulation by Amy [[GoneHorriblyRight worked a little too well]], [[spoiler:leaving Amy still in the competition to cause trouble later on, albeit with one less ally.]]
* TakingTheBullet: Harold takes a [[VideoGame/MarioKart green shell]] for Leshawna in the Kyoto challenge.
* TakingYouWithMe: B attempts to pull this against Sugar and Amy [[spoiler:after they sabotaged his singing to get him eliminated. Unfortunately, due to Amy and Sammy getting the same amount of votes in the elimination ceremony, Chris decides to declare the voting ceremony moot and eliminate only B instead.]]
* TemptingFate:
** Trent when he hopes that Ezekiel won't get him and Leshawna from a long distance, only to be hit on the head with [[ItMakesSenseInContext a shoe from Zeke's shoe cannon]].
** Anne Maria tries to tell a regretful Dakota [[spoiler:that Harold might not get eliminated, only for a dejected Team Old School to walk in without Harold]].
* TookALevelInJerkass: Dave has become more aloof and underhanded due to the events of ''Pahkitew Island''. It gets to the point that [[spoiler:he joins an alliance with Amy and Sugar in exchange for getting Shawn eliminated, since he was jealous that his only real friend got the girl he loved while Dave didn't. He also decided to backstab them later on after overhearing them trash talking him and Amy revealing her crush on him was fake, reminding him of Sky and sending him further down the path of villainy.]]
** Downplayed [[spoiler: when Izzy returns to the game, where she decides to pair up with [[BigBad Dave]] as a means of getting further like she did in ''Island''. she doesn't actively harm anyone but she does go along with his plans and even brings in Jo for an alliance with Dave.]]
* TookALevelInKindness:
** While still not exactly a saint, Scott genuinely tries to redeem himself in the eyes of his teammates, who have a hard time trusting him after the events of Season 4.
** Anne Maria has also mellowed out quite a bit since her appearance on Revenge of the Island, though it's much more subtle than Scott's.
* {{Tsundere}}: Courtney is oddly hostile to Scott at the start of the season, going as far as to try and get him eliminated first.
* WeAreNotGoingThroughThatAgain: Chris goes along these lines [[spoiler:when he zaps Staci off of the wing of the plane so as not to have another Ezekiel situation.]]
