''Code: CONTROL'' is a fanfic by [[https://www.fanfiction.net/u/8750190/ D4IKIZEN]]. It is a crossover between ''WesternAnimation/CodeLyoko'' and ''VideoGame/{{Control}}''.

The formation of [=AWEs=] (Altered World Events) is increasing and has spread all over the world. The newest director of the FBC, Ingrid Layton, is investigating one such event in France as her first directorial undertaking. Unbeknownst to her, said AWE is [[WesternAnimation/CodeLyoko the Supercomputer]], having been discovered already by a rag-tag group of boarding school students. However, trouble begins to stir when the X.A.N.A. becomes in league with the resurgent Hiss. Now Ingrid and the Lyoko Warriors have no choice but to join forces to protect their worlds from hostile paranatural entities, all while uncovering why the Bureau has become so interested in the Supercomputer, and the mystery surrounding its origins.

The story was last updated on March 23, 2023, and there has been no activity from the author since July 7, 2023.
----
* AdaptationalBadass:
** X.A.N.A. is significantly stronger in this story than it was at the same point in canon - he's able to possess a second tower within seconds of the first deactivating, something he wouldn't be able to do for the duration of the first season of ''Code: Lyoko''. In the rewrite, he's able to possess Milly's teddy bear ''and Milly'' in his first appearance. This is indicated to be due to a case of SymbioticPossession with The Hiss.
** This Hiss also gets in on this, being able to empower its hosts and change their appearances.
* AdaptationExpansion: On March 13th, the story had undergone a massive rewrite that great changes and expands upon narrative elements found in the very first chapter.
** While the original indicated that XANA and the Hiss were collaborating, how was left ambiguous. The rewrite has the Hiss possess Milly at the same time as XANA is possessing her teddy bear, with the narration confirming it's a mutual partnership.
** Ingrid directly comes to the defense of Milly during her first encounter with Sissi and the Lyoko Warriors, even giving the former a TheReasonYouSuckSpeech.
** The original version of the story indicated that their encounter in "Teddygodzilla" was the first time that Ingrid and the Lyoko Warriors interacted. The rewrite confirms that this is the case, but also reveals that Ingrid had already been snooping on them due to learning about XANA somehow (though all she knows at first is the name).
** Due to the Hiss aiding XANA, the Lyoko Warriors find red Hiss fluid while investigating Sissi's room, and end up in a confrontation with Ingrid over it.
** Ingrid never had any bound objects of power shown in the original. The rewrite gives her a notebook that exists in its own time space, which allowed her to keep track of her research between multiple Returns to the Past.
* AdaptationalWimp: The Hiss, in both versions - ''Control'' indicated that the Hiss would be unstoppable if it ever escaped The Oldest House, but despite having made it to Kadic here, the Hiss has yet to do more than cause a small amount of mayhem.
%%* ArbitrarySkepticism: Despite some of the blatantly supernatural things that X.A.N.A. can do, Jeremie initially has trouble believing that the FBC and the paranatural entities it fights actually exist.
* AgentMulder: Odd fills this role, being the only member of the Lyoko Warriors who is willing to take Ingrid's comments at face value. He's also the only one to come to the correct conclusion that whatever is possessing Milly ''isn't'' XANA, but rather a different entity that is taking advantage of the chaos for its own ends.
%%* AgentScully: During the events of "Teddygodzilla,
* ArcVillain: A Hiss-possessed Milly serves as this for the first few chapters.
* AscendedToAHigherPlaneOfExistence: Comments by a Hiss-possessed Milly indicate that Jesse apparently went the way of Dr. Darling, though in her case it's indicated that Jesse actually had a MergerOfSouls with Polaris.
* BothSidesHaveAPoint: When Ingrid tries to get the Lyoko Warriors to explain regarding XANA, she points out how leaving her in the dark just makes things harder for the both of them. The Lyoko Warriors retort that she's asking a lot of them when she isn't willing to share her secrets with them, as she refuses to tell them who she is (as in, that she is the Director of the Federal Bureau of Control).
%%* BrokenMasquerade: The events of "Teddygodzilla" breaks the MutualMasquerade between the Lyoko Warriors and the Federal Bureau of Control when Ingrid encounters X.A.N.A. possessing Milly's teddy bear and is forced to use her powers to help the group disable a second tower.
* TheCloudCuckoolanderWasRight: While Odd is too grounded to normally count as a CloudCuckooLander, he's the only member of the Lyoko Warriors to figure out that an entity other than XANA is possessing Milly, and that Ingrid's powers aren't related to XANA either.
* ConditionalPowers: Ingrid's Service Weapon can only be used by direct authorization from The Board. Without The Board's favor, the Service Weapon becomes inactive. However, since The Board still recognizes her as the Director, she can still carry around and interact with the Service Weapon without it killing her.
* ContrastingSequelMainCharacter. Ingrid is this to Jesse.
** Jesse was assertive and composed, while Ingrid is more emotional and lacking in self-esteem.
** Jesse was heavily favored by the Bureau, while Ingrid was met with skepticism, to the point that in the rewrite, she has trouble using the Service Weapon.
** [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking Jesse dressed in black while Ingrid prefers to wear white]].
* DarkerAndEdgier: The story as compared to the source material.
** The initial incursion in "Teddygodzilla" is significantly darker than in the original, with a Hiss-possessed Milly outright attacking and kidnapping Sissi.
** In a more minor example, Ingrid and Sissi have an argument unique to the rewrite that is ''incredibly'' mean-spirited on both ends.
** A Hiss-possessed Milly appears to straight up ''kill'' Ingrid at the end of their first encounter.
* EntertaininglyWrong: In the rewrite, Jeremie initially assumes that Ingrid's uncle must work for the CNRS - the French National Centre for Scientific Research. He clearly didn't consider the possibility that there are other paranatural phenomena going on outside the Supercomputer.
* {{Foil}}: Ingrid and the Federal Bureau of Control to the Lyoko Warriors.
** Ingrid is the leader of an ArtifactCollectionAgency that is nominally a GovernmentAgencyOfFiction, while the Lyoko Warriors are a group of kids/teens working to deal with a singular issue. Ingrid has the backing of her entire organization while the Lyoko Warriors are on their own. Ingrid is TheChosenOne while all of the Lyoko Warriors [[TheUnchosenOne chose to fight against X.A.N.A.]]
** As a side effect of their organizational level differences, the Lyoko Warriors are stuck fighting X.A.N.A. on their own, while Ingrid has people to consult, and an entire database to reference when dealing with paranatural entities.
** A more minor difference between the two is their choice of headquarters - the factory housing the Supercomputer is an obscure location, but it can still be found if you're actively looking at it. The Oldest House, meanwhile, exists in broad daylight in New York but generates a PerceptionFilter that actively prevents people from noticing its existence.
%%* GenderEqualEnsemble: Once Ingrid joins them, the Lyoko Warriors become this, having three guys and three girls on the team.
%%* GodzillaThreshold:
%%** After discovering that XANA activated a ''second'' tower during the events of "Teddygodzilla", they reluctantly accept Ingrid's aid so that they can defeat the AI without entering the Supercomputer.
%%** Once it becomes apparent that Ingrid has a way of working around [[ResetButton Return to the Past]], the Lyoko Warriors decide to indict her into their ranks. This becomes extremely fortuitous a few hours later, as it turns out that XANA and the Hiss have allied as well.
* HandicappedBadass: Ingrid was born without nerves in her eyelids. This does not interfere with her ability to fight, and it doesn't even impair her ability to ''see''.
* HarmfulToMinors: The majority of the cast are under the age of 15, and in the first few chapters most of them have been exposed to some pretty terrible things.
** Nicolas and Herb witness a possessed Milly kidnap Sissi while her room is covered in what they think is blood.
** Tamiya watches Ingrid get impaled by Milly. ''TWICE''.
** A mortally wounded Ingrid is forced to watch Milly horrifically transform several police officers into mindless Hiss Monsters; bone-cracking disfigurement and skin deformation included.
** The Lyoko Warriors make the horrible revelation that Ingrid may have died fighting Milly, and if she is, their ResetButton won't bring her back, a situation they've always tried avoiding.
%%* HollywoodHacking: {{Averted|Trope}} - Jeremie's Cryptosmasher hacking program takes quite a bit of time to break into the files of the FBC.
* ItsAllMyFault: When it looks like Ingrid was killed by a Hiss-possessed Milly, Jeremie feels completely responsible due to being the one to activate the Supercomputer (he still thinks that Milly's possession was done by X.A.N.A at this point).
* KilledOffscreen: Since Ingrid is now the Director of the FBC, this is evidently what happened to Jesse Faden. Comments during her first fight with the Hiss imply Jesse somehow merged with Polaris.
* MutualMasquerade: Prior to the events of the first few chapters, the Lyoko Warriors and the FBC were in the dark about each other - the former just pegged Ingrid for a nosy girl interested in the paranormal, while the latter was suspicious of the group and their connection to the several Altered World Events that have occurred on campus.
* OhCrap: A somber example, but the Lyoko Warriors are disheartened when they learn that Ingrid has been killed by a Hiss-possessed Milly, as that means she is gone for good.
* OnlyTheChosenMayWield: As in canon, only the Director of the FBC can wield the Service Weapon.
* OutsideContextProblem: The Lyoko Warriors are completely flat-footed when dealing with the Hiss and Ingrid, as their abilities defy anything X.A.N.A. has thrown at them prior. In particular, they're left dumbfounded when the Hiss manages to completely hide all evidence of its existence after its first confrontation with Ingrid.
* ParentalAbandonment: Implied. Ingrid keeps her hair cut short and has a special sweater that fits her no matter how big she gets. These traits were endowed upon her by her mother, who Ingrid misses. It's implied that her mother has passed. Her father's presence is also questionable.
* ThePenIsMightier: A variation - the default form of Ingrid's [[MorphWeapon Service Weapon]] is a pen.
%%* RippleEffectProofMemory: Ingrid is initially able to nullify the effects of [[ResetButton Return to the Past]] by using her Shield power just before it hits her. After the Lyoko Warriors decide to let her join them, she's sent through the scanner, making her immune to Return to the Past.
%%* SinisterScythe: The primary (and so far only) combat form of Ingrid's Service Weapon is a scythe. It's a hint that even though she is an idealistic hero, she still serves TheMenInBlack.
%%* SixthRanger: After seeing both the threat Ingrid could pose and the advantages she could offer, the Lyoko Warriors unanimously vote to induct her into their ranks.
* TheStationsOfTheCanon: {{Averted|Trope}}. The first few chapters reference the events of ''Code Lyoko'''s first episode ''Teddygodzilla''. The story detracts HEAVILY from the source material to the point where the original episode's plot is completely different.
** X.A.N.A and the Hiss possess Milly's teddy bear ''and Milly herself''. This is because of X.A.N.A and the Hiss forming an alliance, and Milly becomes a terrifying enemy for the protagonists to face.
** Milly is aware of her teddy bear's abilities and can command it to attack, rather than it just following X.A.N.A's orders, though it has shown levels of autonomy.
* TokenAdult: Ingrid and Yumi are {{downplayed|Trope}} examples. While the majority of the Lyoko Warriors are around 11-13 years or so, Yumi is the oldest of the Lyoko Warriors at 14. Ingrid is the overall oldest at 15 years old.
%%* TokenSuper: Ingrid is a {{Zigzagged|trope}} example - while all of the Lyoko Warriors sans Jeremy have special powers ''in Lyoko'', Ingrid is the only one who has powers ''on Earth''.
* UncertainDoom: Ingrid appears to die after her first fight with a Hiss-possessed Milly, but the narration never actually mentions her dying, and her corpse is nowhere to be found later. A post the author made giving Emily Pope's analysis on Milly reveals that she is alive but in urgent care.
%%* UnexplainedRecovery: Prior to the events of the story, Jesse apparently destroyed the Hiss in their entirety. The fact that some of it is ''still'' around is an OhCrap moment for Ingrid.
* VillainTeamUp: For reasons unknown, The Hiss and X.A.N.A. appear to have allied. While the exact nature of this alliance was left ambiguous in the original, the rewrite confirms it to be a mutual partnership.
* YoungAndInCharge: Ingrid is the youngest Director in the FBC's history, only being 15 years old during the events of the Teddygodzilla AWE.
