''[[http://forums.sufficientvelocity.com/threads/one-foot-another-multiverse-si.11946/#post-2316052 One Foot – Another Multiverse SI]]'' is a {{Crossover}} fanfic involving a rather unusual variant of the classic SelfInsert being plonked into various universes. The story begins when the SI, Poe, is pushed off a station into the path of an onrushing train.

This meeting of two objects doesn't end well, of course, but Poe manages to survive being mulched into the ground via the intervention of a special being who calls himself Mephisto. The deal is simple: Do a little delivery and he'll let Poe live once more.

Poe accepts, a blaze of fire engulfs him and he finds himself on a train...

...Thus begins his trip around the multiverse.

WordOfGod is that the story is on indefinite hiatus until he sorts out several real life issues.

!!Tropes:
* AbsurdlySharpClaws: Lust's Ultimate Lance. [[spoiler:It becomes Poe's after he assimilates her soul.]]
* AchievementsInIgnorance: Visola creates pykrete by accident, thinking it's a type of sawdust.
* ActuallyPrettyFunny: Being the sadistic bitch that she is, Medusa thinks that giving Trisha the false name of Juliet Douglas to be a good in-joke.
* AdaptationalHeroism: Thanks to Urahara finding him before Xcution, Shishigawara starts out as a hero.
* AdaptationalVillainy: Instead of comedic and campy Vlad Plasmius is portrayed as very stoic, grim, and controlled [[spoiler: and then Poe realizes that Vlad's already at his ''Phantom Planet'' levels of evil without any VillainDecay or SanitySlippage to hinder his competence.]]
* AesopAmnesia: Poe never learns from his mistakes. It takes five worlds and multiple catastrophes set into motion by himself before he begins to actually ''realize'' that he lives by this trope.
* AffablyEvil:
** Wrath is described as a strangely understanding and pleasant guy for an asshole.
** Greed is rather friendly, he was nice to Poe and gelled really well with Edward and Alphonse.
* AGodAmI: Fuckface, after his VillainousBreakdown.
* AintTooProudToBeg: [[spoiler:After being utterly humiliated and absorbed by Poe, Lust begs for life, promising him her Ultimate Lance for the right to live. For reasons even he doesn't understand, Poe accepts the deal and grants her mercy.]]
* AllLovingHero: Death from ''Manga/SoulEater'' has seen every death there is, no matter how cruel, petty, monstrous, and horrible yet still cares about all souls and can put up with Poe.
* AllUpToYou: At the climax of the Amestris arc, [[spoiler:after starting a witch hunt,]] Roy tells Poe over the phone that he's the only one left that can stop Father. Thank ''God'' Scar and Trisha were with him and later Edward, Alphonse, and Greed got captured by Pride.
* AnIcePerson: Danny gets his ice powers [[spoiler: after his mutation into a HeinzHybrid.]]
* AlternateHistory: ''Manga/DGrayMan'' is an alternate history in canon but unlike the manga-ka Ars Poetica actually explores the effects the Millennium Earl would have on the 1800's era setting thanks to his crusade to wipe out humanity such as a much bloodier American CivilWar.
* AlternateUniverse: The worlds that Poe visits are alternate universes to canon. The differences range from events moving at a faster pace, to characters from different continuities being in the same universe, to characters showing up at the wrong places and times for almost no reason at all.
* AntiClimax:[[spoiler: The reason why Zhao went after Foggy Swamp instead of the Moon Spirit in this universe; he felt that killing the Moon Spirit while it was a fish wouldn't give him enough glory.]]
* ArcVillain: In every world Poe goes to he comes into conflict with a major antagonist.
** In ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'' he fights against [[TheChessmaster Sosuke]] [[MasterOfIllusion Aizen's]] schemes and [[PlayingWithFire Shusuke]] [[ManOfKryptonite Amagai]] directly.
** In ''Manga/SoulEater'' he finds himself entangled in the machinations of the [[WickedWitch Medusa]] [[ReptilesAreAbhorrent Gorgon]].
** In ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'' he tries to match wits with [[SatanicArchetype Father]] with [[FourStarBadass Wrath]] acting as his DragonInChief.
** In ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'' Poe finds [[InsaneAdmiral Admiral]] [[NotSoHarmlessVillain Zhao]] a surprisingly difficult foe [[spoiler: with [[TheCollector Koh the Face Stealer]] as the GreaterScopeVillain.]]
** In ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom'', the main antagonists turn out to be the SCP Foundation as a whole lead by a madman Poe dubs [[TyrantTakesTheHelm Fuck]][[HeroicWannabe face]] [[spoiler: who used to be the meek [[DimensionalTraveler SCP-507]].]] It eventually turns out they're not limited to a single universe.
** In ''Manga/DGrayMan'', the Millennium Earl is directly or indirectly responsible for every problem and threat in the arc.
* ArcWords: "The Basilisk", it begins to gain promeneince at the end of ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'' arc, but their are hints of it as far back as ''Manga/SoulEater''.
* ArtificialLimbs: Fuckface has one.
* AssholeVictim: [[spoiler: Justin Law and Zhao]].
* AwesomeButImpractical: Sam Mason's vegan lifestyle becomes this in nineteenth century era ''Manga/DGrayMan''. Poe notes that without modern conveniences Sam will need to eat meat to live or suffer protein deprivation.
* AxCrazy: To be blunt, Orihime is fucking nuts.
* BadassBoast: Wrath gets a good one when Poe first uses the Ultimate Eye.
--> Wrath: '''You musn't blink. You'll miss all the fun that way. Fear not the devil, for his evil is truth. Fear me, for my WRATH is absolute.'''
* BadassCrew: The Yu Yan Archers.
* TheBadGuysWin: [[spoiler: While Medusa loses her body and is forced to live in Poe's soul thanks to unleashing the Ghost Rider, said event causes Asura to be released which accomplishes her ultimate goal.]]
* BagOfHolding. V.K gives Poe a pink fanny pack that;s bigger on the inside.
* BaitAndSwitch: Poe thought that the second homunculus he'd have to fight would be [[HeroKiller Wrath]]. Luckily, it was just [[StupidEvil Envy]] in disguise.
* BatmanGambit: [[spoiler: Poe's plan to expose the homunculi. He uses his future knowledge to create advanced weaponry so that they will think he's another corrupt GeneralRipper they could recruit as a part of their conspiracy. While doing this he creates "radiophones" and uses the communication network to make an EngineeredPublicConfession when they try to recruit him. Long story short, the plan works ''too'' well.]]
** [[spoiler: Medusa through Poe lets Vlad hunt the Reality Gauntlet, which is worthless to him because Vlad doesn't know its activation code and Poe does, meaning that Vlad will have to come back to Poe in order to get it to work.]]
* TheBait: Poe decides to use himself as this to catch Shou Tucker before he uses his wife to make his infamous chimera.
* BeastMan: [[spoiler: Shou Tucker's experiments turn Poe into a hawk-jackal chimera.]]
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor:
** [[spoiler: Analay was willing to do anything to get rid of her firebending. She made a deal with an evil spirit in her despair giving her "shadowbending" that she can't fully control along with the spirit acting as a SuperPoweredEvilSide when she's knocked out. Now she wants nothing more than to get her firebending back.]]
** Tucker wishes he didn't have to kill two AI [=SCPs=]. [[JerkassGenie Desiree heard him.]]
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: Sort of. Shishigawara likes Poe because he can remember his name. This is weird because Poe constantly forgets far more important information.
* BerserkButton: Grace gets ''angry'' when people use her name for puns. Cole enjoys this.
* BigBadEnsemble: due to the structure of the plot, Poe ends up facing two foes across multiple universes: the ''Website/SCPFoundation'' and [[spoiler: the [[EldritchAbomination Basilisk]].]]
* BigDamnHeroes: Poe has been completely defeated by Zhao and [[spoiler: Aang and Appa save him by slinging ''a barge'' at Zhao.]]
* BigGuyFatalitySyndrome: [[spoiler: Both Omaeda and Komamura die offscreen during the Soul Society Civil War.]]
* BishonenLine: The Millennium Earl in his fate suit actually wasn't that tough for Poe to deal with, but once he ditches the fat suit Adam becomes a whole other ball game.
* BlatantLies: When under observation from Stein due to an abnormal level of Madness, Poe remembers meeting a strange demonic monster while entering the ''Manga/SoulEater'' world but lies about encountering nothing.
** Might be a case of UnreliableNarrator as Poe genuinely forgets a lot of the events that happen on the train after he steps off. If he does remember it, that might just be due to Madness.
** Later, one of Poe's Zanpakuto spirits claims that he lies to himself and everyone around him all the time. This only reinforces Poe's status as an UnreliableNarrator, but does little to change the fact that whatever he saw in the ''Manga/SoulEater'' universe it affected his memories.
* BlessedWithSuck: Poe's powers might seem awesome until you realize he had to be hit by a train to get them.
** As one reader put it, Poe has the power to "be tortured to death only once". The more badly injured Poe is, the harder it is for him to be affected by space-time. There are very few upsides to this power as Urahara points out it makes Orihime's healing abilities useless to him.
** Said power becomes an advantage as it allows Poe to resist SCP-106's powers.
* BoringButPractical: Out of all the wide variety of powers and skills Poe's gained from his trip through the multiverse, the basic training from Briggs has served him the best. His win-loss ratio becomes much better after it.
* BottomlessMagazines: Averted with Poe's Divine Impact Zanpakuto technique, it only has four shots.
* BrainwashingForTheGreaterGood: [[spoiler: Medusa does this to Poe. Realizing that he's become addicted to the Ghost Rider's power, she pushes Poe's desire for self-improvement to the forefront of his mind by making him decide to train at Briggs. But she pushes him too hard and almost causes him to self-destruct. Poe is ''not'' happy when he finds out.]]
* BreakThemByTalking: Poe's Zanpakuto performs a positive version of this trope on [[spoiler: Medusa. Deconstructing her goals pointing out she's doomed to failure and convincing her to mentor Poe.]]
* BreakTheHaughty:
** [[spoiler: After Shou Tucker's experiment damages Medusa's memories, she's forced to swallow her pride and team up with Poe as an equal.]]
** [[spoiler: After being defeated and absorbed by Poe and being reduced to a shade of her former self while at the same time facing how insignificant she really is in the universe, Lust is reduced into a crying wreck.]]
* BrickJoke: [[spoiler: Around fifteen chapters in it was noted that if Poe ever met ''ComicBook/TheSpectre'', he would likely throw up on his robes. Sure enough, six months and almost 150 chapters later...]]
* BroughtDownToNormal: During the climax of the ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'' [[spoiler: after his conspiracy is revealed]] Father cancels all alchemy in Amestris leaving Poe, Scar, and Trisha (all different cases of WrongContextMagic) the only ones left with powers.
* ByThePowerOfGreySkull: '''[Board: Grand King!!]''' or '''[Ride: Grand King!!]'''.
** Followed by '''[[Derail: Centrecroix!!]]'''.
* TheCavalry: Awesomely so at Zhao's fort, first Zuko and Poe team up, and then they're cornered by the Yu Yan, then the Foggy Swamp Tribe shows up to save the day, then the Gaang breaks out and helps wreck havoc, followed by the Bei Fong's and Xin Fu helping with clean up.
* CameBackStrong: Trisha Elric is revived as her 2003 Anime Homunculus self, complete with [[MakingASplash hydrokinesis]].
* CameBackWrong: Desiree's powers are shown to have a limit in this story. She can't truly revive the dead, only bring them back as insane ghosts.
* CantKillYouStillNeedYou:
** Poe saves and spares Scar, judging that his skills make him too important to waste.
** Wrath tells the heroes in Central that they're free to go because Father judges that they might still be useful if [[spoiler: his nuclear power plan fails.]]
* TheCaper: To pay off his food debts, Poe and Hiroshi go off to rob the Bei Fong's.
* CastingAShadow: Analay claims to be the world's only shadowbender. [[spoiler: This is a lie, there's no such thing, her powers come from an evil spirit that lives inside her.]]
* CensorShadow: Poe weaponizes this against [[spoiler: SCP-096, but replace shadow with numbers. While having memory of the SCP cleansed from his memory bookshelves in his mind, he only looks at it with his Ultimate Eye which sees the world through numbers, censoring the [=SCPs=] appearance, so that he's technically not looking for it and not activating its power.]]
* CerebusRetcon: [[spoiler: Freed from the confines of being a Saturday morning cartoon villain and the need for comic relief, Poe reviews Vlad's life, and realizes that he's a highly intelligent criminal and murderer no longer limited by cartoon censors.]]
* CessationOfExistence:[[spoiler: Shou gets his karma and then some. Thanks to Poe's soul containing his Zanpakuto spirit, Shou accidentally starts and gets hit by a human transmutation's rebound and his Gate and soul are devoured by the thing attached to the fawk-man, thus rendering the bastard DeaderThanDead.]]
* ChallengeSeeker: When Poe thinks that cracking the Akuma's secrets would be impossible for Medusa, she merely boasts that she'll relish the challenge to discover the secrets of the Millennium Earl.
* ChekhovsGun:
** Poe gets a flare gun from Briggs but it doesn't come in handy until he fell into the South Pole's sea. He uses it to basically call for help, causing Zuko to save his life.
** After gaining his Inner World Poe's memories take the form of a bookshelf that can be damaged. [[spoiler: Poe later intentionally damages it so he won't remember SCP-096's face.]]
** Poe suffered a dangerous growth of madness in ''Manga/SoulEater'' but after he left the world it vanished. [[spoiler: It turns out to have still been there, and Poe uses the Madness to do a Soul Resonance with Medusa to activate Centrecroix's Shikai.]]
* ChestInsignia: Danny Phantom's costume has the ''SCP Foundation'' insignia on it. Showing that things are ''very'' off.
* CivilWar: Thanks to a mixture of damage caused by Poe and Aizen grabbing the SmartBall [[spoiler: Soul Society becomes embroiled in a civil war caused by a mixture of dimensional damage to the Dangai and a truckload of political red tape being headed by Shusake Amagai, the Kasumioji Clan, and powered by their Bakkoto.]]
** Later happens again with Amestris.
* ClippedWingAngel: Envy transforming into his true form to fight Poe and Scar just made him easier to pin down and kill.
* ClusterFBomb: Poe swears copiously. Almost every single chapter, actually.
* ConquerorFromTheFuture: While Poe is from an alternate reality, he follows the spirit of this trope in Amestris. He uses his knowledge of twenty-first century technology to give Amestris advanced weaponry, "radiotelephones" (basically cellphones), and becomes the richest and one of the most powerful men in Amestris as part of his (rather bad) plan to defeat Father.
* CoolCar: The Urahara Shoten van becomes this with a little Ghost Rider boost. Then it becomes cool without the Ghost Rider after Urahara gives it a new paint job, three engines, six wheels, and Spirit Reducing Stone Armor. Poe loves the thing.
* CousinOliver: Analay was unpopular with the readers when she was first introduced, being seen as a horrible character most people don't even consider canon in the media she hails from.
* CombatPragmatist: [[spoiler: Wrath.]]
* CoolMask: [[spoiler: After becoming a HeinzHybrid Danny's ghost form gains a hollow mask.]]
* CoveredInScars: All those fights Poe's gotten into have taken their toll.
* CripplingOverspecialization: The main drawback of the Grand King's forms. While each is useful they are only powerful in specific scenarios.
** The biggest example is the 'perspective flip' technique that has many specific requirements to work the biggest being that the opponent must be ''stronger than Poe in every way''. It's only been used against the Millennium Earl.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: Poe spends 70% of his time as TheMillstone, but when the chips are truly down, he has bursts of inspiration and competence.
* CrypticConversation: Fuckface and Olive have one about an army of 'pale dolls' she made for him.
* CurbstompBattle: As a whole, fighting the Ghost Rider can be summed up as "You lose".
** Envy is completely ineffectual with his loss to Poe and Scar being one of the most one-sided fights in the story.
** It takes less than a paragraph for the Kyoshi Warriors to capture, Poe, Zuko, and his crew.
** After giving Poe so much trouble [[AnIcePerson SCP-1529]] is casually ''obliterated'' by Centrecroix's sonic powers.
* CursedWithAwesome: ComicBook/GhostRider. That is all.
* DarkMessiah: [[spoiler: The Basilisk's hero rants heavily hint that it's this trope.]]
* DarkSecret: It turns out the secret to the Bei Fong's wealth is [[spoiler: because they found all of the money the Air Nation was paid with for farmgoods and they just stored it away because they didn't need it. Their entire dynasty was built off of blood money.]]
* DealWithTheDevil: How the plot starts. After being run over by a train, Poe makes a deal with Marvel's Mephisto to save his life while not knowing who he is.
** Ed and Al do something like this when they try to bring their mother back from the dead. Poe calls them out on the trope word for word, even pointing out that his hypocrisy about it doesn't make what they did right.
** [[spoiler: Analay is later revealed to have made a similar deal to take away her firebending. It goes about as well as you could expect.]]
* DeconstructionFic: Poe is probably one of the best or worst Self-Inserts made for all of the wrong reasons. [[spoiler: Every world he visits, he makes worse.]]
** Poe gains many new powers when he visits different universes, but he doesn't know how to use them all innately. He has to go through TrainingFromHell to make use of his new skills, and he isn't always able to use them well.
** Having knowledge of what will happen in a universe due to watching it on television before hand can be a big help, but Poe doesn't always remember everything that is important, and there's also the chance any universe he visits will have already diverged from canon.
* DefiantToTheEnd: Medusa proves herself this when, cornered by the Ghost Rider, she doesn't have a VillainousBreakdown and ''mocks'' the unstoppable juggernaut.
* {{Determinator}}: Poe, to the point he'll walk through the freezing snow and cold winds of [[spoiler: Fort Briggs]] to rescue a lost trainee. [[spoiler: Subverted since Poe wasn't actually doing it of his own volition at the time.]]
** He goes through [[TrainingfromHell Boot Camp]] as the story progresses as well, all for the aim of getting stronger and relying on his powers less. [[spoiler: Whether he did this because he thought it was the right thing to do or if he was forced into it by the voices in his head remains debatable.]]
** At his core, though, Poe is a deconstruction of the {{Determinator}}. Out of pride and self-loathing Poe never abandons a plan, even when the end result will end up hurting people and doing nothing would contribute more to fixing the problem at hand.
* DidntSeeThatComing: Due to his own stupidity, arrogance, the world being non-canon in some way, or a mixture of the three, and never learning from his mistakes, Poe is always blindsided.
** When Poe and co arrives in Soul Society he is floored with the reveal that [[FillerVillain Shusuke Amagai]] exists and is successfully leading a rebellion against Seireitei.
** After arriving in ''Manga/SoulEater'' Poe is surprised that Black*Star is the one hunting Blair instead of Maka.
** Poe didn't expect King Bradley to see his State Alchemist Exam.
** In ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'', there was no way anyone could predict Analay, Visola, and Hiroshi -- fan-submitted characters created for a contest -- existing in that version of the world.
** Straight off the bat in ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom'' Poe finds out that Vlad has successfully integrated himself into the Fenton's as their HonoraryUncle due to his mansion blowing up due to a Ghost Portal mishap before canon starts.
* DespairEventHorizon: [[spoiler: Analay hit hers when she realized she was a firebender.]]
* DeathByAdaptation: Happens from time to time due to butterflies caused by Poe or other factors.
** In ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'' [[spoiler: Komamura and Omeada die in the Soul Society Civil War.]]
** In ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist [[spoiler: Garcia Hughes dies due to complications during childbirth, and on a more satisfying note Pride finds himself Guilty and immolated.]]
** In ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'' in a case of BlackComedy Visola ate Momo offscreen due to food shortage before Aang found him and made him his pet.
* DeathOfPersonality: What every Noah family member risks when their Inner Noah reincarnates through them. Most of its members throughout history most likely had their personalities destroyed best shown with Skinn Bolic. Those that willingly collaborated are treated as particularly despicable and evil, however, best shown with Road Kamelot.
* DemonicPossession: How an Inner Noah works in this story. If the host refuses to join the Millennium Earl's genocidal crusade it will posses you and ''force'' you in. [[spoiler: Best shown with Skinn Bolic, Noah of Wrath.]]
* DidntThinkThisThrough: This is an ''enormous'' problem for Poe, as most of his plans don't have much if ''any'' forethought put into them. It's a big part of the reason he makes every universe he visits worse.
** [[spoiler: While Poe's EngineeredPublicConfession at first glance seems like his shining moment, it quickly becomes his greatest failure. He fails to take into account that the coup in canon was covered up to stop society from collapsing which runs the ''exact opposite'' of his planned end result. He fails to take into account that almost every major character needed to come together for Amestris to survive and his plan leaves all the important authority figures isolated and divided. Meanwhile, he also forgets that Father can cancel Alchemy and Hohenheim hasn't had time to counter Father's Alchemy-canceling ability which leaves the heroes even ''more'' weakened and divided. End result? By the time Poe is forced out of the world Amestris has either fallen into complete anarchy ''at best'', Father hijacked Truth thanks to the secrets of nuclear fission Poe accidentally handed him, or Amestris has gone up in a nuclear explosion. Poe's plans amounted to ''nothing'' and if Amestris still exists it's now at the mercy of its angry neighbors. The only legacy Poe has left behind is a bloodier war machine. [[SarcasmMode Great fucking job, Poe]].]]
** Poe does this again when he tries to reveal Danny Phantom's secret identity to the world before learning about the inevitable divergences. This is luckily put a stop to when Poe realizes the SCP Foundation exists in that world as well.
** In a thankfully minor example, Poe ends up eating several Yoma and one of Dauf's fleshy rods while in the ''Manga/{{Claymore}}'' world while trying to fight off Riful and Dauf. While this ends up giving him a powerboost, he also finds his appearance changed to that of a Yoma, though thankfully this is the worst he has to deal with.
* DiscardAndDraw:
** [[spoiler: Analay was born a firebender and reacted badly when she found out, and in a fit of despair made a deal with a malevolent spirit to get rid of it, giving her "Shadowbending". She heavily regrets this choice.]]
** [[spoiler: After being absorbed into Poe's soul Desiree loses the power to grant actual wishes, instead her powers take the form of illusions and perfect simulations.]]
* DistaffCounterpart: Analay is basically a younger female Poe without delusions of her own competence. She's has many of his character flaws, juggles the IdiotBall, annoys other people, [[spoiler: and made a DealWithTheDevil that gave her a uncontrollable SuperpowerredEvilSide.]]
* TheDreaded:
** [[FourStarBadass Wrath]] scares the shit out of Poe and he spends the entire ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'' arc scared to death of him.
** ''ComicBook/TheSpectre'' easily beats that. Poe's encounter with him leaves him a blubbering mess.
* DrunkOnTheDarkSide: Using the power of the Ghost Rider proves to be addicting. The end result is that Poe somehow becomes even ''dumber''.
* DualWielding: At the end of the ''Bleach'' arc the Ghost Rider reforges Tousen and Amagai's Zanpakuto into two cavalry saber Zanpakuto that Poe uses as his main weapons from then onward.
* DyingMomentOfAwesome: [[spoiler: Wrath's entire last stand against the Ghost Rider is this for him.]]
* EldritchLocation: Poe's interdimensional train car, Danny's [[SanitySlippage reaction]] to it shows that it's not a nice place.
* EnemyMine:
** After the scope of Zhao's madness has been revealed the Gaang, Zuko, the Earth Kingdom team, and the Fire Nation mooks all team up to stop him.
** Recognizing the threat the SCP Foundation and its horrors represents, Vlad enters an alliance with Poe and the Fenton's.
* EngineeredPublicConfession: [[spoiler: How the homunculi are revealed. Said reveal is only enhanced through cellphones so ''everyone'' in Amestris knows the truth.]]
* EpicFail: Poe's special talent. Medusa even snarks that the only thing about Poe she trusts is his ability to consistently fail.
* EquivalentExchange: This fittingly happens to Poe in Amestris. [[spoiler: Due to saving Shou Tucker's wife and killing him, it leads to Gracia Hughes dying in childbirth because (possibly) Shou would have been the one to make the delivery.]]
* EvenEvilHasStandards:
** Zuko might be in his angsty villain phase but he's still not willing to let Zhao destroy Foggy Swamp just for glory.
** Walker is one of the darkest, most extreme, and evil of the villains in ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom'', but even he thinks that the SCP Foundation is extreme. [[spoiler: He even releases Poe from his custody because of this.]]
* EvilAllAlong:
** Turns out that Justin Law was evil even before Asura. He got the Witch's soul needed to become a Death Scythe by ''killing his little sister''.
** Turns out Hiroshi was just a selfish con man who [[spoiler: is willing to send an entire region into poverty to satisfy his own greed.]]
* EyesNeverLie: Poe immediately sees through the Millennium Earl's StepfordSmiler facade when he sees how angry the Earl's bloodshot eyes are.
* {{Eyescream}}: Poe loses his left eye to Truth as his toll when he crashes into Truth's domain during his messy entrance into the world of ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist''.
* ExplosiveOverclocking: To gain the power to defeat Scar, Poe absorbs the potential energy generated by the city's power grid to supercharge himself to be stronger and faster than Scar.
* FaceDeathWithDignity: [[spoiler: In contrast to Lust, Envy, and Pride's ignoble defeats and begging and breakdowns, Wrath takes his death with quiet dignity.]]
* FallenHero: [[spoiler: SCP-507 was once one of the few good [=SCPs=], but seeing the Basilisk drove him insane and turned him into the delusional and tyrannical Fuckface.]]
* FateWorseThanDeath: [[spoiler: Zhao]] suffers this after [[spoiler: repeatedly being badly wounded and healing using Poe's Zanpakuto.]] He absorbs [[spoiler: Poe's]] history, but only enough to destroy him. [[spoiler: Poe]] can handle his failures. [[spoiler: Zhao]] can't on a basic mental level. So he sort of falls into a spiral of depression and rejection wiping out his own mind. Enough that he loses even the basic function of thinking or regulating his own heartbeat and breathing, left alive to basically be a subhuman monster without instincts in a world once threatened by him. And when he does recover [[spoiler: (due to the tenacity of his spiritual nature)]] the memories come back, and he returns as a version of [[spoiler: Poe]] so engulfed in personal despair that he commits mental suicide all over again to escape it, putting himself back in the same position he was in before. He's caught in a despair driven logic loop for the rest of existence.
* {{Fingore}}: Poe loses both his pinkies to avoid frostbite and they don't regenerate.
* FlippingTheBird: One Yu Yan Archer does this to Poe.
* {{Foil}}: Trisa Elric and Medusa. Best shown when Medusa tried to criticize Trisha's parenting inside Poe's soul with invisitext.
* ForceAndFinesse: The Combustion Man and June form this dynamic when they attack the Gaang.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: Many people in Poe's soul talked about the Grand King. [[spoiler: This turns out to be his Zanpakuto's name.]]
** Almost ''everything'' Fuckface says hints to something important in the story.
** There is enough foreshadowing to the point of obviousness that Beux is really Skinn Bolic, Noah of Wrath before his awakening as a Noah. He's a big man with great strength, New Orleans is surrounded by a permanent thunderstorm for almost a week non-stop that's been giving Beux headaches, and Wrath says that he senses a great amount of his namesake. Poe doesn't get it.
** [[spoiler: The Basilisk]] was once "A ''sun'' in the dark".
* ForScience: Medusa shows this to be her entire worldview when she gushes and drools over how amazing the Gate from ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'' is in a rare moment of zero self-restraint.
* ForgotFlandersCouldDoThat: Poe begins to properly fear the Millennium Earl after he loses his fat suit and showing his real power.
* FormulaBreakingEpisode: The story uses a first-person narration with one ominous break from chapters 129-131 titled ''The Basilisk's Story''.
* GambitRoulette: Deconstructed with Poe. All of his 'brilliant plans' are either short sighted, formed from incomplete information, or implemented with no revisions, or done on pure impulse. Since Poe is not Aizen or a Uchiha, reality does not bend to his whims, ending with most of his plans failing. The ones that ''do'' succeed make things ''worse''.
* GenreSavvy: A given with any Self-Insert fanfic.[[spoiler: Played straight, outright avoided, or blatantly deconstructed. Since every world Poe visits is non-canon, none of what he knows about those worlds can come to play. And since Poe doesn't actually remember everything about the worlds he visits, he often can't be sure of what he's doing right or wrong.]]
* GeniusBruiser: Scar is described to look like the Terminator, yet he easily figures out how Poe's alchemy works after a short clash when it took ''months'' of bumbling for Poe to get anywhere.
* GetAHoldOfYourselfMan: Poe does this to Analay when she has a FreakOut about the Fire Nation's [[FinalSolution plans]] for Sozin's comet.
* GodGuise: Poe pretends to be a Spirit in ''Avatar'' in order to get people to listen to him.
* GoodAllAlong: Hiroshi made Poe think that the Bei Fong's were evil aristocrats. It turns out that they were using [[spoiler: the Air Nomad treasure]] to keep the region stable.
* TheGoodTheBadAndTheEvil: During the ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom'' arc, the Fentons and their friends are the Good, the ghosts are the Bad, and the SCP Foundation and its collection of horrors are very, ''very'' Evil. Best shown with A-list villains Vlad and Walker being openly disturbed by the brutality of certain [=SCPs=].
* GoodWithNumbers: The Ultimate Eye allows a person to weaponize math, using it to predict, analyze, and understand almost anything.
* {{Greed}}: Hiroshi is worse than Greed himself in that regard.
* HatedByAll: Due to becoming an arms dealer as a part of his stupid plan to defeat Father, the cast of ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'' treat Poe with thinly veiled contempt.
* HeroicBSOD: SCP-1529's Ghost Rider-countering powers cause Poe to have a mental breakdown.
* HalfHumanHybrid: [[spoiler: Zhao becomes half spirit which makes him more powerful.]]
* HandCannon: The ULTIMA RATIO NEMO OBLIGATUR.
* HangingJudge: You can bet that the Ghost Rider qualifies to a terrifying degree.
* HealingFactor:
** [[spoiler: Poe gains Lust's after absorbing her, which then becomes one of the main reasons he's still alive.]]
** [[spoiler: Zhao gains one as he turns into a spirit.]]
* HeelFaceBrainwashing: A major part of turning Akuma into Knight's is that they are reprogrammed into being loyal to Poe instead of the Earl. Given how they were {{Tortured Monster}}s before there's not as much moral problems as usual for this trope and Poe immediately sets out to counteract the negative consequences.
* HeinzHybrid: [[spoiler: After being shot and Poe putting him through an EmergencyTransformation Danny rivals Ichigo in spiritual bullshit becoming a Ghost-SCP-Hollow hybrid with a spiffy new winter based motif.]]
* HoistByTheirOwnPetard:
** [[spoiler: Pride's attempt to possess Poe's body ends with him meeting the Ghost Rider and being declared "GUILTY".]]
** [[spoiler: Zhao takes too much power from the Grand King, causing his FateWorseThanDeath.]]
** [[spoiler: SCP-106 turns out all light in his dimension to get an advantage over Poe. This lets the Ghost Rider out. Justice is served.]]
* HomeFieldAdvantage: As long as the Box Ghost is inside a proper cardboard box he is all powerful and the box is undetectable and invincible.
* HopeSpot:
** [[spoiler: Sui-Feng activates Shunko to fight [[ManOfKryptonite Amagai]] in a big "Hell yeah!" moment... Only for Poe to find out that Yoruichi, a better Shunko master, had already lost to Amagai while using Shunko. Then, as if to make things worse, Amagai reveals that on top of his Bankai and Zanpakuto canceling Bakkoto, he's ''also'' a Shunko master as well.]]
** [[spoiler: Apparently, Amagai was a Shunko master who, without knowing it, had a specialty in fighting other Shunko masters, thus reinforcing his status as a ManOfKryptonite while taking it up to eleven.]]
* {{Hypocrite}}: Lulu Bell has the gall to criticize Poe about brainwashing an [[TragicMonster Akuma]].
* HypocrisyNod: When Poe calls the Elric Brothers out for making their metaphorical DealWithTheDevil Poe admits the hypocrisy of him criticizing their decision.
* IdiotBall: When Poe isn't turning them into a ballistic weapons, he's juggling them like a clown at a circus.
* ImprobableAimingSkills: Thanks to the Ultimate Eye, Poe becomes a crack shot with a bow and arrow.
* InsaneAdmiral: Zhao, but the full depth of his madness isn't revealed until the climax of his arc.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: While 'friend' might be too strong a word, Poe tends to get along better with teenagers and kids than his fellow adults. This most likely ties to his immaturity.
* InUniverseNickname: A trope that is important because its never been used. Poe says all of his friends call him by his nickname Ars. [[TheFriendNobodyLikes Everyone in the story calls him Poe.]] [[spoiler: The closest thing Poe has to a friend is Medusa.]]
** [[spoiler: This becomes really important when Poe fights Koh to save Medusa's face. When Koh tries to use Medusa's face and voice against him, Poe snaps out of it when Koh calls him "Poe" instead of "Ars".]]
* ItsAllMyFault: Trisha begins to think of herself as a poor parent after learning that her sons became arrogant enough to perform human transmutation after her death.
* ItsPersonal: Poe's feud with Black*Star becomes this when the HighlyVisibleNinja spits in his hot chocolate.
* {{Jerkass}}: Hiroshi is introduced as a downtrodden underdog but his true colors reveal him to be a selfish, greedy, backstabbing brat.
* TheJuggernaut: It doesn't matter if you're God, the Devil, or literally Death itself. The Ghost Rider ''will'' set you on fire, cut you down, and crush you like a tin can.
* KarmicTransformation: [[spoiler: A positive example. Lust started of as a homunculus, a parasite that lived off of human souls to live. After being absorbed into Poe's soul she becomes the Zanpakutou spirit Centrecroix, a spiritual being that acts as a symbiotic being to the soul that houses it. The exact opposite of her original race.]]
* KidHero: Played straight, the deconstructed. At first Poe (a man in his twenties) had no problem with sending teenagers and children like Ichigo and Aang into combat for his own benefit. [[spoiler: After Danny gets shot]] Poe begins to dislike this trope and stops trying to rely on kid heroes to solve problems.
* KillItWithFire: Poe's standard response to pretty much everything.
* KnightOfCerebus:
** The SCP Foundation become this without even appearing on screen. The eternally short-sighted and arrogant Poe becomes completely serious and half-way competent when he learns they're in the world of ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom''.
** The Spectre. He scares Poe so much, that he can't make light of his situation like he usually does.
* LaResistance: V.K Telgo, Olive, and the Box Ghost form this to fight against the SCP Foundation in the Ghost Zone.
* LargeHam: The Ghost Rider's narration is extremely grandiose.
* LaserGuidedAmnesia: [[spoiler: Poe wipes all memory of SCP-096 from his own mind so it won't hunt him.]]
* LateArrivalSpoiler: It's impossible to talk about the ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'' arc without bringing up the Trisha was revived as Sloth.
* LethalHarmlessPowers: ''Konso'' isn't intended to be a weapon, merely a tool for Soul Reapers to help pass the departed onto their intended afterlife. Against a Homunculus, however, who derive their powers from crystals made up of at least ''hundreds'' of souls, it's just short of a OneHitKill, as Lust finds out to her detriment.
* LetsGetDangerous: Jack Fenton is portrayed as the type of comic relief who knows when he needs to be serious and competent.
* LEGOGenetics: Poe theorizes that ectoplasm works like this which is why [[spoiler: Danny becomes a Ghost-Hollow-SCP hybrid after his EmergencyTransformation.]]
* LighterAndSofter: Deconstructed with ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom''. It's a comedic low stakes world where the villains are mostly bumbling and campy, the adults are humorously inept, and the world itself is designed for teenagers to thrive. This all comes tumbling down when the other DarkerAndEdgier worlds come knocking and the residents are woefully unprepared for other settings villains competence and ruthlessness. Best shown with the interactions between it and the SCP Foundation and ''Manga/DGrayMan''.
* LivingEmotionalCrutch: Poe's Zanpakuto keep him sort of balanced. When he loses them during his entry into ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastairbender'' his sole goal is to get them back and losing a part of his soul makes him more angrier and aggressive.
* LoopholeAbuse:
** [[spoiler: Poe needs to get around Koh's facestealing ability. How does he do this? By ''ripping off his own face'' so he doesn't have one to steal.]]
** Horrified that he brainwashed the Akuma turned Knights into his slaves, Poe's first order to them is to order them to not be required to obey him. He later uses this trope to create an ethical guidline and society for the Knights to give them some of their lives back.
* MacGuffin: The Reality Gauntlet becomes one of the driving forces of the ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom'' arc with many dangerous people wanting to get it for its unlimited power.
* MadnessMantra: The Noah of Wrath's "Never forgive...! Never Forgive...! Never forgive...!"
* MakeSomeNoise: The power of Poe's second Zanpakutou; a permanent Shikai release-type that abilities revolve around sound manipulation and frequencies and can make sonic booms.
* MagicEye: Wrath's Ultimate Eye [[spoiler: which becomes Poe's after the Ghost Rider assimilates him.]]
* TheManBehindTheMan:
** [[spoiler: The ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'' arc ends with heavy implications that Aizen supported Amagai's rebellion from the shadows.]]
** [[spoiler: In ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'' Koh steals Poe's Zanpakuto and gives them to Zhao.]]
** In ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom'' the Guys in White are merely a front for the SCP Foundation.
* ManOfKryptonite:
** Shusuke Amagai's entire powerset from his Zanpakutou, to his Bakkoto, to his [[spoiler: Shunko]] is perfectly built to defeat other Shinigami no matter how powerful they are. [[spoiler: Just ask Yamamoto.]]
** SCP-1529's heat-absorbing powers make it one of the few things in the story capable of countering the Ghost Rider.
* MartyrdomCulture: The Yu Yan. It doesn't matter how many of them die or what line they have to cross. They ''will'' complete their mission no matter what.
* MassOhCrap: Once everyone realizes [[spoiler: that Zhao plans on killing the spirit of Foggy Swamp]] ''everyone'' goes OhCrap.
* MassivelyMultiplayerCrossover: So far we have ''Manga/FairyTail'', ''Manga/FullMetalAlchemist'', ''Manga/{{Claymore}}'', ''Franchise/BlazBlue'', ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom'', ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'', ''Anime/DGrayMan'', ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'', and ''Manga/SoulEater'', with more likely to come.
* MeleeATrois: Desiree vs the SCP Foundation vs the Ghost Rider, with the Fenton-Plasmius alliance stuck in the middle.
* TheMentor: Given his previous self's military experience Poe has Wrath train Danny, Tucker, Sam, and Jazz.
* MergedReality: It quickly becomes clear many realities are actually fusions of various universes.
* MergerOfSouls: A key part of turning a Akuma into a Knight. Both the revived soul and the dealmakers soul power the Akuma, Poe converting the Akuma fusing the two souls into a new being as a Knight. Given how they were endlessly tortured as Akuma the Knight tends not to mind the change.
* MindRape: [[spoiler: Shou Tucker's experiments damage Poe and Medusa's souls. This has the nasty side effect of damaging their memories. Poe forgets his sisters while Medusa loses almost all of her magical knowledge and can only remember her life's failures, and her sisters who she hates.]]
* MirrorMatch: [[spoiler: Zhao vs Poe. Zhao has taken Poe's Zanpakuto, which lets his firebending hurt Poe, along with his increased speed, strength, and durability from his half-spirit physiology, along with his new HealingFactor gives him powers that make him a dark shadow of Poe.]]
* MistakenForBadass: Thanks to misjudging Poe's character, the homunculi think that Poe is a [[TheChessmaster Chessmaster]] ''par excellence'' when he's just so stupid no one could expect that his short-sighted plans could work.
* MisappliedPhlebotinum: After being cornered by SCP-1529 Lust advises Poe to use his sound powers to defeat them and he ''completely'' misuses it.
* MoralMyopia: Poe treats [[spoiler: Danny getting shot]] as one of his worst mistakes when he has done far worse, like stealing Kon causing Yuzu to be mauled by Grand Fisher, or damaging the barriers between worlds in ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'', or his ''everything'' in Amestris. It really comes off as hypocritical given his previous bigger fuck ups.
* MoreThanMindControl: [[spoiler: ''Heavily'' implied to have happened to Danny after listening to the Basilisk's rants on heroism, leading up to him using his body as a shield to block the Millinnium Earl's Dark Matter ball.]]
* MorphWeapon: [[spoiler: The Grand King's Shikai form allows it to transform into different modes, each representing a type of ability Poe has encountered with a personal twist added.]]
* MouthOfSauron: Due to being head of the country and [[spoiler: Father being busy absorbing nuclear power for his plan B ]], Wrath acts as the homunculi's spokesperson as a whole.
* NamedByTheAdaptation:
** Shou Tucker's nameless wife receives the name "Delta" in this story.
** The namelees protagonist of ''VideoGame/SCPContainmentBreach'' is given the name V.K Telgo.
* NervesOfSteel: Nothing phases Medusa. Not even facing down the Ghost Rider. She even remains calm and in control after being assimilated into Poe's soul and learning that she's a fictional character from his perspective.
* NextTierPowerUp: Poe starts as a bog standard human. Then he gets a power. Then he gets another.[[spoiler: Deconstructed and played straight. The powers Poe gets range from being very useful to being almost worthless.]]
* NiceGuy: [[spoiler: The Wrath in Poe's soul is strangely chill and pleasant. He's one of the few spirits that doesn't demean Poe and gives strange but helpful advice.]]
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: Poe does this a lot. Most of his actions tend to be less 'helpful' and more 'why would you do that?!' in nature. Heck, he does it ''at least'' once per world.
** In ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'' he steals Kon forgetting he was once plot relevant which leads to Yuzu being badly injured by Grand Fisher.
** Poe breaks things even worse in ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'' when, due to his entrance into the world, he damages the Dangai which causes a series of events amplified by his own bumbling and maybe Aizen's manipulations. One such cause would be[[spoiler: the Soul Society Civil War headed by Shusuke Amagai which has a death toll greater than the Vandenreich's first invasion.]]
** The Ghost Rider joins the fun in ''Manga/SoulEater'' where his search for vengeance [[spoiler: causes him to kill Justin Law, assimilate Medusa, and release Asura utterly obliterating canon while eliminating many players that would have hindered Arachnophobia in said canon.]]
** Poe believes that he did this when he somehow contributes to Trisha Elric's revival as Sloth. Realizing that Ed hasn't been humbled and lacks the proper mindset to take down the homunculus.
** When trying to pass the written portion of the State Alchemist Exam, Poe ''forgets'' that Amestris hasn't completed the Periodic Table and hands [[BigBad Father]] the secret to ''nuclear fission'' completely by accident.
** Poe once again thinks he did this when Zuko went out of his way to save him. Aang doesn't learn until later that the Fire Nation needs to be stopped and the group as a whole hasn't gotten their early fighting experience against Zuko's AntiVillain crew before the KnightOfCerebus show up.
** While trying to comfort Tucker over two AIs that he had too delete, Poe lets it slip that he's killed ''and'' was an arms dealer. This sours his relationships with Danny, Sam, and Tucker.
** Happens again when Poe lets Danny, Sam, Tucker, and Jazz inside the House of the Rising Sun. He unwittingly shifts worlds which leads to a series of events that cause the teenage ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom'' cast to get stuck in the CrapsackWorld of ''Manga/DGrayMan''.
* NiceJobFixingItVillain:
** [[spoiler: While there was no way he could know, Tousen interfering with Amagai's fight with Poe and activating his Bankai unleashed the Ghost Rider and allowed him to take out the trash. It's made worse when you realize that, had he waited just a minute longer, Poe might have died and that would've been the end of it.]]
** Shou Tucker [[spoiler: turns Poe into a human chimera. This upgrade proceeds to carry Poe through combat.]]
** Envy's own arrogance and sadism is one of the main reasons Poe's plan in Amestris worked. Things go wrong once Wrath and Pride assume control over the operations.
** [[spoiler: Wrath had Poe beaten. Then Gluttony came along and ate them, letting the Ghost Rider out... who then proceeded to fix some "problems".]]
** Not understanding how Poe's konso works it made sense to the Millennium Earl to bring an army of Akuma with him to crush Poe beneath his superior military might but in execution, it let Poe convert the Akuma army into Knights thanks to the Grand Kings bow and arrow mode.
* NoSell: The Ghost Rider gives ''no'' fucks. Throw a black hole at him, have a dimension explode with him in the center, have a Djinn try to wish him away, it just won't work.
* NoSocialSkills: Thanks to a cruddy childhood and latter getting stuck in the South Pole's wastes Visola is either unemotive or overemotive.
* NoodleIncident:
** Poe did something at Briggs that made Major Miles hate him.
** Inside the House of the Rising Sun Ammit did something in Medusa's lab that made her hate the pet.
* NotSoHarmlessVillain:
** After spending an arc being beaten up by everyone, even Poe, Gluttony gets his moment in the sun when he gets the drop on both Poe and Wrath and devours them.
** Poe underestimated Zhao, writing him off as a mid-range threat because of his canonical ArcVillain status, forgetting that he is a great firebender and strategist on top of his plans being the most apocalyptic of the original series' villains. [[spoiler: And then he gets Poe's Zanpakuto and gets superpowers.]]
* NotSoStoic: In canon Urahara was always chill and laid back because everything always went according to his plans. Poe's ability to make any plan die a horrible death causes Urahara to show a far more sarcastic and angry side of his personality.
* NoNonsenseNemesis:
** The Yu Yan Archers. They always use the element of surprise, never gloat, have perfect teamwork, never get overcome by emotion, never complicate their plans, and are badass to the bone. The SCP Foundation is even worse.
** The Spectre, he was able to get rid of Poe with absolutely no trouble or fuss. Despite his ineptitude, Poe has a talent for lasting long enough to ruin something. Not with the Spectre on the job.
** The Millennium Earl's mindset for dealing with his new archenemy; Poe, both in direct combat and in assassination attempts.
* OriginalCharacter: They show up from time to time, mainly due to necessity or because Poe's in a world's timeline before canon started meaning the author has to fill in holes.
** Grace and Cole who become the face of the early Pineapple Knights in ''Manga/DGrayMan'' and showing the Knights overall view of Poe.
* OhCrap:
** Poe's reaction when Blair is attacked by Black*Star instead of Maka as he realizes that every world he arrives at is non-canon even before he visits making his already dodgy fore-knowledge even more unreliable than it was before.
** Poe does it again when he realizes his nurse is Medusa.
** This is everyone's default state when Wrath shows up.
** Iroh has a blink and you'll miss it moment when he realizes that, yes, Poe ''is'' that stupid.
* OmnidisciplinaryScientist: In this story Medusa states she is qualified in Animal Science, Plant Sciences, Food Science, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biomedical sciences, Biophysics, Biotechnology, Bacteriology, Anatomy, Biometrics & Biostatistics, Neuroscience, Nutrition Science, Parasitology, Toxicology, Genetics – Human & Animal, Embryology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Rehabilitation and Therapeutic Services, Statistics, Astronomy, General Chemistry, Acoustics, Applied Physics, School Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Educational Psychology, Family Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Comparative Psychology, General Psychology, Sociology, Music Education, Science Education, and Communication Research and at least nineteen fields of other independent study.
* OnlyTheChosenMayWield : This is Frostbite's view of the Infinity Map and why he won't lend it to Poe. It turns out to be the correct decision.
* OnlyFriend: [[spoiler:Out of all the people Poe's met on his trip through the multiverse, the only person he can possibly claim to have a healthy two-way friendship with of equals is with Medusa. This is just as screwed up as it sounds.]]
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness:
** The Homunculi (with the exception of Wrath) hold the view that HumansAreInsects and only offer them the barest of courtesies. So when Lust gets dragged into Poe's soul and has the contents of her philosopher's stone exorcised, the fact she completely drops her pride and ''begs'' to be spared cements how scared she is.
** When the Foggy Swamp Tribe learn of Zhao's true goal, they drop their pacifism.
** The readers were shocked by how sensible Poe became when he learned of the SCP Foundation.
** When Raven sees Poe she goes full Trigon eyes and uses the same spell ''Doctor Doom'' used to banish him. The repercussions of this are still unknown.
* OrcusOnHisThrone: Subverted with the Millennium Earl, once Poe proves a threat he immediately mobilizes to kill Poe. In a twist, staying on his throne might have actually been the best decision the Earl could have made.
* OutOfFocus: Despite being the ArcVillain of Amestris, Father doesn't even get a ''single'' line of dialogue.
* OutGambitted: Poe thinks he can avoid paying a toll to Truth by giving up his Gate to Truth like what Ed did in the end of ''Brotherhood''. This fails because Poe's Gate is from the 2003 Anime and thus can't be traded. [[EyeScream Poe has to pay the toll anyway.]]
* PaperThinDisguise: Scar's identity is [[SarcasmMode cunningly concealed]] by a mask with a tinted visor.
* PalsWithJesus: Poe pretends that he knows Clockwork to make Vlad listen to his demands. It doesn't work.
* PersonalityPowers: All of Poe's abilities are associated with fire and nuclear fission. The first represents his horrid impulse control like how a forest fire spirals out of control, the second shows how toxic he is to people like nuclear waste is.
* PerverseSexualLust: It's heavily implied that Medusa is turned on by the challenge of deciphering the Millennium Earl's Eldritch Science and sees the Akuma skeleton Poe gives her to be a romantic gift.
* PetTheDog: Vlad turns out to be a rather good mentor for Danny and also pays for Poe's outrageous food bills.
* PersonOfMassDestruction: The Ghost Rider. His best feat was casually making Gluttony's endless PocketDimension explode.
** Didn't he also punch his way out of a ''black hole'' in the first story arc?
** The Ghost Rider destroys anything he wants to have destroyed. Good luck stopping him.
* PowerFist: Centrecroix's Shikai takes this form. To quote the story itself: "A bright red valve, five prongs reaching from the center in a near-star formation, formed on either arm – they were about the size of small shields that turned slightly with each passing second. The backs of my hands boasted additional plates of silver, and from them a string-less harp – a tuning fork of sharpened prongs – jutted out over clenched hands.
* PurpleIsPowerful: Poe's alchemical energy takes on a strange violet color that Roy notes is unnatural.
* PuttingOnTheReich: [[spoiler: The Wrath in Poe's soul takes the form of an Asura in a Nazi uniform.]]
* PrecisionGuidedBoomerang: Thanks to a little killing intent, Orihime's Tsubaki will follow you and never stop.
* PressGanged: Medusa feeds Poe one of her snakes forcing him to work for her as an assassin. [[spoiler:This quickly backfires when Poe points out that he'd rather die than work for her, so as an alternative she decides to stalk him.]]
* {{Pride}}: Poe's greatest weakness. He holds a delusional view of his own competence due to his self-loathing, leading him to screw up more. When he manages to abandon his pride Poe actually becomes more competent. Shame it never stays that way.
* PsychicLink: Or a more spiritual variant. Lust and Wrath show the ability to detect Lulu Bell and Skinn Bolic respectively as each represents the same sin.
* QuirkyMiniBossSquad: The Bakkoto wielding Kasumioji Clan act as this during the climax of the ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'' arc.
* RagTagBunchOfMisfits: The team that is gathered to defeat Father consists of [[ShapedLikeItself Poe]], an Ishvalan SerialKiller, a hydrokinetic 2003 Anime homunculus housewife, the depowered Elric brothers, and Greed.
* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Medusa gives one to Lust, pointing out that she is nothing more than a hypocritical parasite that was too arrogant to realize the own hypocrisy of her own existence.
* RecruitingTheCriminal: After saving Scar from Lust and Gluttony, Poe offers him a job as his bodyguard and waste disposal consultant.
* RedHerring: [[spoiler:When the Ghost Rider reforged Tousen and Amagai's Zanpakutou and the latter's Bakkoto into a new Zanpakutou it at first seemed like they had all been fused into one Zanpakutou. It turns out that the Ghost Rider made two instead.]]
* RedemptionPromotion: When a Akuma is converted into a Knight the new being surpasses Level 3 Akuma in strength.
* RemovedAchillesHeel: Desiree can grant her own wishes and refuse other wishes thanks to the power of SCP-1990. That is ''very'' bad.
* TheReveal: Two in one chapter. [[spoiler: First The core of Foggy Swamp is Kuvira's spirit vine cannon that fell into an alternate universe and into the past from the reality warping explosion it created during Kuvira's battle with Korra and it has also created a spirit portal that Zhao can use to invade the North Pole. Two: Zhao has Poe's Zanpakuto.]]
* RidiculouslyAverageGuy: Poe describes V.K Telgo as the most normal looking person he's ever seen.
* RightFOrTheWrongReasons: Poe assumes that the ring Riful was trying to recover had some kind of magic power In int. While Medusa confirms that this is true, Riful had absolutely zero idea that the ring was magical, and just pretended to want it back so that hse had an excuse to fight Poe.
* RuleOfSymbolism: The one ability/skill that Poe actually gets a lot of mileage out of is his basic training at Fort Briggs. Since this essentialyl required him to adapt to life as a soldier, the implication is that if Poe finally grew as a character and stopped having AesopAmnesia, he'd be a lot better off.
* RunningGag: In ''WesternAnimation/AvatarTheLastAirbender'' everyone forgets the Unagi exists and it then pops up to ruin their day.
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveConnections: Iroh saves Poe, Zuko, Analay, and Zuko's crew from the Kyoshi Warriors thanks to the village chief being a member of the White Lotus.
* SealedEvilInACan: [[spoiler: SCP-035 and SCP-096 fittingly get locked inside SCP-2317.]]
* SeenItAll:
** Death from ''Manga/SoulEater'' has seen every death imaginable along with his already long and interesting life cause him to treat Poe's absurd claims as completely natural.
** Poe has adopted this view by ''Manga/DGrayMan'', he tells [[BlobMonster Lulu]] [[CatGirl Bell]] that he's fought three different variants of her character archetype and is unimpressed. [[TalkToTheFist Then he shots her with a hellfire flare gun.]]
* SensoryOverload: The risk of using the Ultimate Eye without mastering it. The equations it shows you grow more numerous and complex until your brain shuts down and have an aneurysm.
* ShaggyDogStory: [[spoiler: It turns out that this story's 'Rescue Rukia' arc was completely pointless because Urahara had replaced the ''real'' Rukia and the Hogyoku with a Chappy modsoul and ''bomb'' respectively. He never told anyone in order to keep the charade up. Uryu finds this out while trying to rescue 'Rukia' and is ''very'' unhappy.]]
* ShortRunner: InUniverse, Poe only spends a chapter in a half in ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans'' thanks to the Spectre.
* SinisterMinister: Justin Law. [[spoiler:According to the invisitext, he murdered his younger sister. The Ghost Rider takes particular exception to this.]]
* SinisterSilhouettes: [[spoiler:The Basilisk appears to Analay, Poe, Danny Fenton, and Ginkyo as a black, shadowy silhouette.]]
* SlippingAMickey: Shou gives Poe drugged water so he can use him for his chimera experiments. This is particularly stupid because (a) Poe wanted to catch him in the act, (b) there was no way he could avoid being caught, and (c) he made a plan directly involving Poe's inability to fight back. Plans and Poe don't mix, unfortunately.
* SmallNameBigEgo: Poe's whole personality. He seems to believe that he has what it takes to match wits with multiple worlds top tiers and that his plans are brilliant. It's rather obvious to the reader they are ''not''.
* SmallRoleBigImpact:
** It's hard to remember or notice through the Ghost Rider's vague narration, but in the first chapter Doctor Doom did ''something'' to Poe that's caused his multiversal journey.
** [[spoiler: Shou Tucker is barely a VillainOfTheWeek but his experiments give Poe a chimera form that becomes one of his most reliable powers while also starting his alliance with Medusa.]]
* TheSociopath: Medusa actually diagnoses Shou Tucker as a sociopath.
* SoreLoser: the Millennium Earl is a self-admitted example.
* TheSoulless: Poe rather cheerfully reminds Trisha that she's this type of homunculus.
* SpannerInTheWorks: Visola tells the Gaang about the Norther Water Tribes sexism, making them not want to go there and seek out Foggy Swamp instead. This causes ''WesternAnimation/LegendOfKorra'' timeline to take a hit.
* StableTimeLoop: How the version of the ''Avatar'' world Poe ended up in came to be. According to WordOfGod [[spoiler: Spirits, in this world, are a result of space-time shenanigans. Kuvira's spirit cannon fell through a portal it created when Korra attempted energy bending to siphon it away from killing her. The portal, still powerfully charged with spirit vines, continued firing even after it landed and punctured a hole in the fabric of the universe, injected it with energy, and got stuck in a tree. From there, things blew out of proportion. Spirits, wholly, are the result of that event -- kind of like mutants or zombies following a nuclear fallout. The swamp and its spiritual nature is because of the gun from the future, and eventually one of the vines of the swamp would be used to make the gun, and the gun would make the swamp, and so on and so forth.]]
* TheStoic: Vlad Plasmius is vey controlled and grim, a far cry from his over the top canon personality. [[spoiler: This foreshadows that he's at his ''Phantom Planet'' levels of evil without his VillainDecay or SanitySlippage.]]
* StoutStrength: Without the limits of the shows art style to change their appearance Poe notes that Jack Fenton is all muscle with a build like Sig Curtis instead of fat in contrast to what the show suggests.
* SupervillainLair: The SCP Foundation has a giant castle in the Ghost Zone which they park in front of the Fenton's Ghost Portal.
* SunkCostFallacy: A major part of Poe's ideology and why he never cuts his losses when it would be smarter to do so and he'd hurt less people. Website/ThisVeryWiki describes it best.
-->: In psychology this is generally related to cognitive dissonance theory, which is basically the idea that when people think of themselves one way but act in another way, they will try to rationalize it. Specifically, people think they make good decisions, but when the decisions aren't paying off, they throw more effort after it to make the decisions good rather than admit they made a bad decision.
* TaughtByExperience: While people might not believe this, Poe does learn from his fights; best shown when he fights Lulu Bell. Since Trisha, Blair, and Envy used similar powers and techniques Poe uses the correct form of the Grand King and matches her in a BattleOfWits, forcing Lulu to use her Inner Noah to get the edge in the fight.
* TakingTheBullet: [[spoiler: When the Millennium Earl throws a massive ball of Dark Matter at New Orleans as a "fuck you" to Poe, Danny saves the town by taking the attack with his own body.]]
* TakingYouWithMe: [[spoiler: Wrath knows that the homunculi are screwed, but as a BloodKnight he decides to drag Poe down with them.]]
* ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill: Once Poe establishes himself as a threat by fighting off Lulu Bell and converting his Akuma, the Millennium Earl responds by sending an army of Akuma and ''[[OneManArmy himself]]'' to deal with Poe.
* ThinkingUpPortals: After the Ghost Rider absorbs [[MakeThemRot SCP-106]] Poe can use his portal powers to let people into his Inner World the House of the Rising Sun.
* ThisIsUnforgivable: Poe goes on warpath [[spoiler: when he finds out Koh stole Medusa's face.]]
* TeachHimAnger: Thanks to the accelerated timeline, Ichigo was never there to save Orihime from her brother which caused her to gain her powers earlier and make her more assertive, thus giving her the killing intent to use the Shun Shun Rekka properly in combat.
* ThisLoserIsYou: The writer doesn't give a very flattering view of himself in Poe and his many, many flaws, and it's hinted in-universe that Poe knows he's a loser.
* ThisWasHisTrueForm: [[spoiler: After having her Philosopher's Stone exorcised, Lust's true form is revealed to a scrawny creature made of shadows and held together with blue nodes and a face resembling Greed's.]]
* TokenEvilTeammate: Vlad Plasmius. Valentine eventually becomes an [[AntiVillain antivillainous]] version for Poe.
* TokenGoodTeammate: [[spoiler: Out of all the peoples who have become trapped in Poe's soul, Desiree is the only person who really doesn't deserve to be stuck helping Poe for all of eternity.]]
* TokenHeroicOrc: Trisha Elric is the only completely heroic homunculus.
* TookALevelInBadass: [[spoiler: Analay]] certainly did this, when she got KO'd and her SuperPoweredEvilSide came out to play. [[spoiler: Omaeda]] was probably the first person in the whole cast to do it.
** Trisha Elric is revived as 2003 Sloth and becomes capable of fighting on even footing with the ''Brotherhood'' homunculi.
** [[spoiler: SCP-507 originally couldn't control his dimensional powers, after meeting the Basilisk and becoming Fuckface he gained control of them and became a fullblown SpaceMaster, got into shape, as well as somehow gaining the leadership and organizational skills to lead the Foundation.]]
* TrappedInAnotherWorld: Thanks to being inside the House of the Rising Sun while training Danny, Sam, Tucker, and Jazz get dragged along with him to 1800s post-Civil War ''Manga/DGrayMan'' and [[spoiler: thanks to Poe exiting said world because of the Noah Family's assassination attempt they get stuck in ''Manga/DGrayMan'' permanently. Jack, Maddie, and Vlad will ''not'' be happy when they see Poe again.]]
* TyrantTakesTheHelm: After Fuckface takes control of the SCP Foundation it takes a major turn for the worse.
* TheUnexpected: Due to Chad disappearing from the face of the Earth (oddly fitting) Poe recruits Moe Shishigawara to take his place as the team Tank.
* UnderestimatingBadassery: Poe wrote Visola off as a joke because of her fan-created origins. Turns out, using waterbending to create sharp-pointy weapons is extremely practical and very dangerous.
* UndyingLoyalty: The Yu Yan will always follow their commanders orders, no matter how insane or suicidal they are.
** Even without the programming the Knights are loyal to Poe because he saved them from the tortuous existence of being Akuma and because he doesn't throw them away like cheap confetti like the Earl did.
* UnlimitedWardrobe: No longer suffering from animation budget, Sanny, Sam, and Tucker wear different outfits each day.
* UnreliableNarrator:
** And how. Poe regularly backtracks, lies to himself and others, and tells a somehow coherent but still disjointed story.
** The Ghost Rider is hard to follow as well. He cares more about ranting about his justness and greatness which make his actions hard to follow at times since he doesn't care about telling a good story.
* VillainousBreakdown: Lust has a crisis after [[spoiler: being defeated by Poe and being absorbed into his soul and realizing that there is more to the universe than her and Father's supposed superiority.]]
* VillainsWantMercy: [[spoiler: According to the [[UnreliableNarrator Ghost Rider]], Tousen ''begged'' for mercy after his defeat. [[HangingJudge He doesn't get it.]]]]
* VillainOfTheWeek: Poe's life fittingly settles into this routine in ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom''. Villains fought include [[PoliceBrutality SCP-912]], Technus, [[AIIsACrapshoot SCP-079, The Ghost]], Desiree, [[MakeThemRot SCP-106]], [[LiteralGenie SCP-1990]], [[MurderousMask SCP-035]] being worn by [[DontLookAtMe SCP-096]], [[AnIcePerson SCP-1529]], [[GhostShip SCP-455]], [[BizarreAlienBiology SCP-939]] acting as Fuckface's dragon, and ending off with the Lunch Lady.
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: Vlad Master's became a closer 'friend' to the Fenton's before canon started, making them unaware of his shadier actions, causing him to be considered an honorary member of the family with Danny seeing him as a CoolUncle.
* VillainOverride:
** The Ghost Rider or someone using his power can take control of anything that can be considered 'a ride', living or machine.
** Poe later uses this power himself to take control of [[GhostShip SCP-455]].
* VillainousRescue: Vlad Plasmius saves Poe and Danny from the collapsing SCP Foundation Castle.
* VillainTeamUp:
** Walker and his goons, the Guys in White, and the SCP Foundation all ally with one another to capture all the escaped[= SCPs=].
** [[AnIcePerson SCP-1529]] and [[GhostShip SCP-455]] seem to have done this in the Ghost Zone. Their combined powers made a really good trap.
* VillainousUnderdog: [[spoiler: Wrath stands no chance against the Ghost Rider and knows it, but resolves to turn it into the fight of his life so that he'll be remembered by a truly godlike entity.]]
* VocalDissonance: Poe's first Zanpakuto spirit takes the form of an eldritch-mutant-zombie phoenix... with a laid-back Brooklyn accent.
* WarriorPoet: Wrath. [[spoiler: Both incarnations of him, The second loves making allusions to multiple mythologies.]]
* WasOnceAMan: Something happened in the Dangai that turned the Omnitsukidou into Blank-Hollow hybrids.
** [[spoiler: [[FateWorseThanDeath Something similar but worse happens to Zhao.]]]]
* WellIntentionedExtremist: [[spoiler: Koh claims he stole Poe's Zanpakuto and the souls inside of him for his own good and to stop the "Basilisk"...there's heavy evidence that this Basilisk is real.]]
* WeirdnessCensor: Danny's reaction to Poe's train car shows that it's ''not'' actually a real train car, it's something lovecraftian in nature.
* WhamLine: [[spoiler: After Yoruichi takes the Zanpakuto Poe was using that he thought was an Asauchi.]]
--> [[spoiler: '''Yoruichi''': "I'm wielding this blade better than you because it's not ''your'' Zanpakuto...''It's mine."'']]
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: InUniverse. Chad has disappeared in ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'' and no one can find him. WordOfGod says he isn't dead.
** What happened to Poe's van?! Is it still burning in the Soul Society? We don't know.
* WhatMeasureIsANonHuman: Tucker and Poe argue over how alive AIs are after Tucker deletes two of them.
* WhatTheHellHero: Poe destroyed a building in the second world he landed in, killing hundreds of people [[spoiler: when he rode diagonally on the walls in his flaming skeleton van]]. He gets chewed out by the other characters for the sheer stupidity such an act entailed.
** The Elric Brothers get chewed out by Poe, Roy, and Trisha herself for being arrogant enough to try human transmutation with it only being successful because Poe dragged the 2003 Anime Gate into their world.
** Poe created the equivalent of a witch hunt in the [[spoiler: Manga/FullMetalAlchemist]] world, his actions causing the citizens to attack anyone who was a [[spoiler: State Alchemist]] for fear of them being in league with [[spoiler: Father]].
** Poe created the AK-47 under a new name for the citizens of [[spoiler: Amestris]] when he was enrolled in the military there. As well as adding over twenty new elements to the Periodic Table for that world. This had problematic results, considering the political situation at the time.
* WorfHadTheFlu: It's explained in this story that the reason why Aang always easily beats Zuko's mooks is because they felt guilty about hurting a child, so they held back.
* WorthyOpponent:
** Wrath sees the Ghost Rider as this. [[spoiler: The Ghost Rider comes to see Wrath the same way, internally conceding that Wrath was a skilled warrior who got closer to defeating him than far more powerful beings.]]
* WrongContextMagic:
** While Poe gains alchemy from Truth, Roy notes that it's "wrong" and doesn't properly follow the rules. It's hinted to be linked to the 2003 Anime instead of ''Brotherhood'' in some way.
** Happens when Scar tries to deconstruct Poe's Zanpakuto. Due to the swords being made from Poe's soul, they're already in their basic form and cannot be deconstructed.
** Happens a third time when Poe uses a Konso to [[spoiler: exorcise Lust's Philosopher's Stone.]]
** The Zanpakuto save the day again, their nature allowing them to hurt normally unkillable [=SCPs=].
** The Fenton Thermos can suck out an Akuma's DamagedSoul. A pity that the worlds technological levels make mass producing it unfeasible, it would have been a great weapon.
** The Zanpakuto continue their winning streak in ''Manga/DGrayMan'', when Poe tries to use a Konso on an Akuma him implanting a piece of his soul into them transforms them into a new being dubbed "Knights" instead. Having the backbone of his war machine compromised causes the Millennium Earl deem Poe a great threat, going all out on trying to kill him.
* WrongGenreSavvy: [[spoiler: Danny thinks that the Basilisk runs on the DealWithTheDevil trope, but it turns out that it doesn't need consent.]]
* YearInsideHourOutside: Poe can slow down time inside the House of the Rising Sun giving many benefits to the spirits or people inside it while time passes normally in the real world.
* YouAreWhatYouHate:
** Poe dislikes Analay because she's impulsive, short-sighted, annoying, has powers that contradict canon, and derails plans... Huh? Look in the mirror lately, Poe?
** Analay herself. [[spoiler: She grew up wanting to fight the Fire Nation and turned out to half Fire Nation ''and'' a Firebender on top of that. She did ''not'' take it well.]]
* YankTheDogsChain: Poe thought his time in ''WesternAnimation/DannyPhantom'' would give him a break, then he learns that the universe has already been pre-fused with the ''Website/SCPFoundation'' killing any plans of an easy run.
* YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: [[spoiler: Medusa uses this to get Poe out of his HericBSOD after his breakdown while fighting SCP-1529, pointing out that despite his screw-ups he's managed to survive against some of the multiverses most dangerous villains. Strangely, Medusa seems sincere.]]
* YouCantGoHomeAgain: When SCP-035 offers Poe a way home if he accepts his deal, Poe realizes that after the three years that have passed since his journey began and all that's happened to him, he'll probably never be able to rejoin his home ever again.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: [[spoiler: After being assimilated into Poe's soul Desiree's appearance changes from her cartoony design to a more realistic design.]]
