1 | The character limits in the classic Phantasy Star games is infamously unforgiving. For example, PC and spell names are limited to 4 characters and enemy names are limited to 8. The result is a lot of names needed to be changed or abbreviated. Oddly, for whatever reason, a Japanese monster name would be changed only for that name to be used in a different version of the same enemy model. For example, Sandworm was changed to Crawler, but then Leviathan was changed to Sandworm. |
