Times where somebody is DrivenToSuicide in {{Webcomics}}.
----

* ''Webcomic/TheAdventurousScarletCarolusAndTheMachineOfEternalSummer'': After Tibor’s girlfriend [[https://www.sandraandwoo.com/scarlet/comic/the-machine-of-eternal-summer-014/ left him]] at the beginning of the comic, he tries to [[https://www.sandraandwoo.com/scarlet/comic/the-machine-of-eternal-summer-017/ commit suicide]] by hanging. He also [[https://www.sandraandwoo.com/scarlet/comic/the-machine-of-eternal-summer-015/ writes]] a [[GoodbyeCruelWorld suicide letter]].
* Lexx from ''Webcomic/AlienDice'' tried to kill himself several times but survived because of tiny machines injected into his circulation. He doesn't dare to try the most radical methods for fear of the pain if the machines would still repair his body. Only after several attempts to die failed did he gather the determination to try and win.
* At the end of ''Webcomic/AndersLovesMaria'', [[spoiler: Tina]] commits suicide after [[spoiler: failing to win Anders back.]]
* ''Webcomic/AskFriskAndCompany'' heavily implies that [[VideoGame/{{Undertale}} Gaster's]] fall into the core was a suicide attempt out of guilt for how bad a MadScientist he'd become.
-->'''Asker''': Am I the only one who thinks Gaster didn't "accidentally" fall but rather... "willingly fell", if you catch my meaning.
* In Megan Kearney's ''Beauty and the Beast'', [[spoiler: we eventually learn through flashbacks that this is how the young man once known as Argus became the Beast. After years of [[AbusiveParents abuse from his mother]] and after his first love abandoned him to become his father the king's mistress, Argus finally stabbed himself next to an enchanted fountain... but instantly regretted it and wanted to live. The fountain's magic saved his life, but transformed him into a beast in exchange.]]
* Dani from ''Webcomic/BetweenTheLines2006'' was sent to a psychiatric hospital after cutting her wrists and nearly dying. Being a bullied, closeted trans girl with AbusiveParents drove her off the edge.
* In ''Webcomic/BittersweetCandyBowl'', [[spoiler:Lucy does this in "Disaster Dominoes" near the end to [[TogetherInDeath join the recently run down Mike.]]]]
** [[spoiler: In the main story, it's implied in "Breaking Up" that she attempts it, and confirmed in "Love Again"]]
* ''Webcomic/BreakfastOfTheGods'': [[spoiler:Trix]] tries to hang himself after [[spoiler:betraying Cap'n Crunch into a fatal ambush]]. He doesn't succeed, because [=BossMoss=], one of the Freakies that lives in the tree he's attempting to use, cuts him off and says [[spoiler:[[BlackComedy "Silly rabbit."]]]]
* ''Webcomic/{{Bug|Martini}}'' sees this as [[http://www.bugcomic.com/comics/website-woes/ an acceptable response when your web server goes down.]]
* Depicted tragically in story #5 of ''Webcomic/TheBullysBully'' when one of BB's friends is bullied until he can see only death as an escape.
* In ''Webcomic/CheatingMenMustDie'', this is the usual fate of the Lüxias who were cheated on or otherwise badly mistreated.
** In the first arc, imperial Consort Su slams her head against a pillar after being demoted in favour of another consort, although whether she meant to kill herself is unclear.
** In the second arc, the actress Lüxia is drugged and raped by a married man and footage of the event is leaked online, branding her a homewrecker and ruining her illustrious career. The final straw is when her boyfriend, who orchestrated the assault, publicly announces his impending engagement to another woman he's been seeing behind her back the whole time, and she slits her wrists in despair.
** In the fifth arc, schoolgirl Lüxia is BulliedIntoDepression and prepares to jump from the school roof. In a final effort, she calls her apathetic crush, who cruelly insults her and tells her to get on with it. She does.
** At the end of the sixth arc, [[spoiler:Su Lüxia is forced to kill herself to escape [[FourthWallObserver Jing Chen]] and leave his world]].
** In the seventh arc, convenience store clerk Lüxia is [[AcidAttack splashed with sulphuric acid]] by a spurned admirer and her bedridden grandmother—her last family member—dies of a heart attack on hearing the news. She hangs herself shortly after the attack, but returns as a VengefulGhost.
** The heroine of the eighth arc hangs herself after her reputation is ruined following getting caught in a [[NotWhatItLooksLike compromising position]] with a man (actually an AttemptedRape orchestrated by her [[CainAndAbel sister]]).
* According to ''[[http://xninjared.deviantart.com/art/Cho-reads-My-Immortal-152293752 Cho reads My Immortal]]'' this is the usual response someone gets when they've read ''Fanfic/MyImmortal''.
* Artie Crowley of ''Webcomic/{{Concession}}'' was seen holding a gun to his head after realising [[spoiler:he had had sex with a prepubescent boy while in a trance and unable to realise what he was doing]], but he didn't go through with it.
* Kotomi from ''Webcomic/CrossHeart'' is traumatized and haunted by the fact she was raped several years prior. She has a scar on her wrist from trying to kill herself in the past. Surprisingly her girlfriend never noticed it until three years after they began dating
* BLU Sniper in ''Webcomic/CuantaVida'', after [[spoiler: losing both his lover and his eyes. Because he was blinded, though, [[MercyKill Medic had to help him.]]]]
** [[spoiler: Or so the BLU Medic ''claims''; subsequent events suggest another possibility.]]
* Luna Travoria from ''Webcomic/DominicDeegan'' tried to kill herself twice in the same story arc. The first attempt ended with [[spoiler:Luna and Dominic uncovering a plot from her crazy mother, in which she would make a great deal of money by Luna driven to suicide. The old lady would wind up dead anyway, after picking a fight with a Royal Knight and getting her head chopped off.]] The second time, Luna [[spoiler:jumped off a bridge after said crazy mother left her nothing in her will, and her half-dead body was discovered by Dominic and his cat Spark while on a fishing trip.]]
** Nimmel Feenix later tries the jumping-off-a-bridge strategy for himself after a rather horrific attack on his class by a PsychoForHire. He's stopped by none other than Luna herself.
* A regular occurrence in ''[[EightCicadas Eight Cicadas]]''. Shark is one of the biggest examples so far in the story, as he fails twice with overdosing before ultimately hanging himself in his aunt's basement.
* In ''Manga/{{Evangelion 303}}'' [[spoiler: Asuka]] tried to shoot themselves in the head after [[spoiler: several months of lashing out at everybody in SurvivorsGuilt fueled rage (Shinji stopped her). It's also implied during an argument with her subconscious that she had attempted to overdose on pills in the past.]]
* ''Webcomic/TheEvolutionsOfHomosexualityAndSuicide'': The reason a genetic predisposition for suicidal impulses could have evolved is presented, with evidence. However it doesn't ''always'' result in actual suicides, just sometimes.
* In the web-novel ''Webcomic/{{Fragile}}'', [[spoiler:Severin]] has an irrational fascination with the idea of suicide after going insane and is found at the end attempting to slit his wrists; [[spoiler:or at least, Page thinks he is, but he finds Severin before anything can be done.]] It's never stated exactly why, but it might be because he's attempting to escape the pain of being insane.
* Conor from ''Webcomic/FreakAngels'' shoots himself in the head, not out of a true desire to die, but out of a wish to upgrade his mental abilities. His action fits this trope because he really didn't know whether he'd survive, and his conversation with Arkady and relationship with the other Freak Angels suggest that he didn't much care.
* ''Webcomic/GirlGenius'': Mittlemind and Mezzasalma are delighted when they run into optimistic young sparks, because it gives them a chance to drive them to despair. Evidently Mittelmind drove one such spark who'd been sent to Castle Heterodyne to kill himself [[https://www.girlgeniusonline.com/comic.php?date=20101122 the month before Agatha arrived.]]
-->'''Mittlemind:''' Let '''me''' crush his spirit.\
'''Mezzasalma:''' Oh, not fair! ''You'' disillusioned that chap ''last month''.\
'''Mittlemind:''' That hardly counts--''he'' committed suicide!\
'''Mezzasalma:''' It's still '''''my turn'''''.
* Justin from ''Webcomic/ElGoonishShive'' seriously contemplated suicide a few years ago (in comic time). ''BigBad'' Damien actually committed suicide upon realizing he was [[AGodAmI not a god]].
* In ''Webcomic/TheGreenEyedSniper'', one of the main characters, Sekhmet, is a suicidal wanted war criminal. [[spoiler: [[http://ges.smackjeeves.com/comics/2542139/ges-part2-confrontation-page8/ She forces Shanti, her love interest, to shoot her.]] ]]
* № 4 from ''Webcomic/{{Hellp}}'' died by suicide as a result of having a crappy life, but since the story takes place in Hell and everyone is DeadToBeginWith, we only find out about it as a part of his {{Backstory}}.

* Neilli of ''Webcomic/{{Juathuur}}'' is driven to suicide [[spoiler: by Meidar, who decides that a girl that wants to be a healer would make a perfect torturer. Possibly a SecretTestOfCharacter directed at Neilli's boyfriend Thomil.]]
* Daichi Takana's mother is apparently driven to suicide by a Mafia boss, who just so happens to be his friend's father in [[http://mitadakesaga.webcomic.ws/comics/9 The Mitadake Saga]]
* In ''Webcomic/MonsieurCharlatan'', [[http://monsieur-charlatan.com/archive/page-1/ Charlatan is contemplating in the opening scene.]]
* A RunningGag across ''Webcomic/MSPaintAdventures'' as a whole is people being driven to suicide near a stump in an empty field, later named the Land of Stumps and Dismay in ''Webcomic/{{Homestuck}}''. First it was the protagonist of ''Webcomic/{{Jailbreak}}'', then later an ''audience member'' of ''Webcomic/ProblemSleuth'' and ''Homestuck'' gives it some serious consideration in response to events in the comics themselves.
** However, a few of the characters have attempted suicide: the Ace Dick who played the Game of Life with Death in ''Webcomic/ProblemSleuth'', and the Handmaid in ''Webcomic/{{Homestuck}}''. Both cases proved temporary, although the Handmaid eventually succeeded in SuicideByCop.
* ''Webcomic/NekoTheCat'':
** The comic begins with Michiko's mother throwing herself in front of a train on her daughter's 10th birthday. We never find out why exactly she did it, other than the stepmother's claims that she was lonely.
** [[spoiler:The stepmother]] committed suicide after entering an unhappy marriage and becoming 'lonely'.
* One of the Paladins in ''Webcomic/TheOrderOfTheStick'' [[http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0448.html commits seppuku after a slaughter in the throneroom]]
* ''Webcomic/OtterSoldiers'': Subverted. One of the characters at one point contemplates upon committing suicide. She ends up thinking too much about how it could end up going horribly wrong (survived but crippled etc.), and is ultimately unable to go through with it.
* In ''Webcomic/{{Pacificators}}'', [[TheDitz Larima]] [[GenkiGirl Torbern]] is implied to be this. She recklessly uses her power ''all the time,'' which only makes her burn herself out much faster (as people with powers [[BlessedWithSuck shorten their lifespan if they use their power excessively]]), and she shows slight DeathSeeker tendencies, such as placing herself in the path of danger ''for no reason at all.'' [[spoiler:This makes sense, however, when one considers that Larima's little sister Taffe is deaf, and [[DisabilitySuperpower uses her power of air to hear]], which means Taffe is burning herself out in a much quicker pace -- and ''will'' die before Larima does. Throw in the fact that [[DeathByOriginStory their parents are dead]], and we may have the reason to Larima's attitude -- [[TearJerker she doesn't want to live without her little sister. She doesn't want to be alone. She's trying to pace herself with Taffe]].]]
* ''Webcomic/QuestionableContent'' has Faye, a girl with obvious issues. It is later revealed that the reason she is so severely messed up is that [[spoiler:her father, who she saw as her best friend and in whom she confided everything, committed suicide for reasons unknown by blowing his brains out with a gun, ''in front of her''. He went outside in the early morning without realizing that she had gotten out of bed and followed him outside. Then he blew his brains out before she could call out to him. Yikes]]. It's also implied that the car accident she was in just before the story started was an attempt. Faye says that she isn't sure herself, because she doesn't remember the moments leading up to the crash.
* ''Webcomic/RosiannaRabbit'' frequently did strips that involved the main character or her love interest Harry Hare [[SuicideAsComedy committing suicide as a dark joke]]. The very first strip in fact has Rosianna try to jump to her demise because she was humiliated from people laughing at her when she bent over to pick some money and [[SplittingPants tore her panties in the process]], her suicide attempt unfortunately [[BungledSuicide resulting in further humiliation when she's left hanging by her torn underwear with more people laughing at her]].
* Red from ''Webcomic/RubyQuest'' goes for "the coward's way out" when he realizes the full extent of the damage that the Cure (which he was suspicious of and avoided consuming, despite originally recommending it) was doing to the facility. [[spoiler:He doesn't succeed, since [[MadDoctor Filbert]] had been secretly dosing him with it. He later tries it during the run of the Quest (presumably after taking precautions to rid himself of every trace of the Cure), and this time he succeeds.]]
* ''Webcomic/TheSilverEye'': [[TheWoobie Apen Shephard]] lost his will to live and tried to take his own life when he was only ten years old after being orphaned, overthrown, and exiled to the Deadlands to die. Once he realizes he'll never see his sisters again upon reaching the other side barely clinging to life and having his horse stolen he gives up on life and is only saved because the Alvarados keep stopping his attempts from succeeding.
* Scotty kills himself in ''Webcomic/SomethingPositive''.
* In chapter 15 of ''Webcomic/StandStillStaySilent'', [[spoiler:Tuuri]] decides to [[spoiler:drown herself]] rather than wait for [[ThePlague The Plague]] to run its course and [[FateWorseThanDeath trap her spirit in a gruesome monster with no chance of peace]].
* This is the entire basis for every storyline in ''Webcomic/SuicideForHire'', which is ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin.
* In ''Webcomic/SwordCatPrincess'', Kathryn [[http://SwordCatPrincess.thecomicseries.com/comics/24/ seeks her own death]] after 1,000 years suffering the losses of loved ones.
* Kasem from {{Webcomic/Tales of the Galli}} attempts suicide after being forcibly castrated, but is saved by the goddess Cybele.
* ''Webcomic/WapsiSquare'' BackStory: Jin tried to derail the spell with this. [[SenselessSacrifice It didn't work]]
* After untold amounts of emotional suffering due to his robotic form, the [[TheWoobie title character]] of ''Webcomic/WarbotInAccounting'' finally decides to kill himself by jumping off his office building while leaving behind a note scribbled "No Love". It doesn't work due to him being {{Nigh Invulnerab|ility}}le, and he ends up taking crap from his co-workers for skipping work.
* ''Webcomic/WelcomeToHell'': The entire plot is about a teenage boy who commits MurderSuicide with [[SelfMadeOrphan his parents]] and ends up in hell. As a demon, Sock's job is to bug his assigned human counterparts enough until they kill themselves. This is all played for BlackComedy.
* ''Webcomic/WhaleStarTheGyeongseongMermaid'': Feeling trapped by her gender and her father's expectations for her, Yunhwa kills herself.
* Two characters from ''Webcomic/YuMeDream'' feel DrivenToSuicide.
