''Twilit Overture'' is the name of a role-playing campaign run by one Andre Von Gentleman (a near professional NightmareFetishist), recorded in various places. The setting is that of a WorldHalfEmpty; there is BlackAndGrayMorality at best, and it generally appears to be a pretty dangerous world to live in.

''Twilit Overture'' takes place in an AlternateUniverse to our Earth, where AllMythsAreTrue and some of these myths have managed to overwhelm others. The two campaigns that have taken place so far have been set mostly in Europe and the Middle East, although the party in the first campaign took a brief trip to North America.

The canon of the campaign is divided into two sections: Twilit Overture 1.0 and Twilit Overture 2.0.

The [=PCs=] in the old campaign were as follows:

'''[[TheHero Zeike]] von [[TheBigGuy Seiren]]''', a [[OurWerewolvesAreDifferent Werewolf]] [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] of [[KillItWithFire Fire]], has an [[TheAtoner atonement complex]], and takes second place for most [[SlidingScaleOfIdealismVersusCynicism idealistic character]]. Played by [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Pronto]].

'''[[TheSmartGuy Xivlan]]''', a [[WingedHumanoid Malphus]] and [[DeadlyDoctor Mortician]] / [[CollectorOfTheStrange Gravedigger]], who provided equal amounts of "[[BlackComedy dark humor]]", party member deaths, and CharacterDerailment. Played by [[TheShortGuyWithGlasses [=XIVCaliber.=]]]

'''[[TheLancer Patch]] / [[SixthRanger Zekaiv]]''', a [[TheWitchHunter witch hunter]] / [[ProfessionalKiller assassin]]... [[MindScrew Just don't ask]]. One of the main sources of party conflict within the campaign, betrayed the party in a big way and then got killed by Zeike. Played by [[SpecialSnowflakeSyndrome Spartan.]]

'''[[TheHeart Niccolo]]''', an [[TheGunslinger gunslinger]] / [[HunterOfMonsters undead hunter]] with [[{{Bishonen}} charming looks]]. [[SlidingScaleOfIdealismVersusCynicism The most idealistic character by far in the campaign]]. Played by [[CloudCuckoolander Dreamaniac]].

The (current) [=PCs=] in the new campaign are as follows:

'''[[{{Determinator}} 7 E Amaglam]]''', a [[OurGhostsAreDifferent Ragamuffin]] and a [[BrownNote Nightsong]] with an [[{{Revenge}} obsessive desire for revenge.]] Played by [[DeadpanSnarker Pronto]].

'''[[BadassBookworm Avrick]]''', a [[OurHomunculiAreDifferent Homonoculous]] and [[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast Corpse Collector]] with a [[TheSnarkKnight distinctively sarcastic attitude]]. Played by [[OnlySaneMan [=XIVCaliber.=]]]

'''[[BloodKnight Laika]]''', a [[OurWerewolvesAreDifferent Cursed Lycan Myrmidon]] / [[MasterSwordsman Blade Master]] with a bit of a [[BloodKnight bloodthirsty streak]], tempered by his desire to follow his OldMaster's [[TheFettered combat philosophy]]. Played by [[NiceGuy Dreamaniac]].

'''[[TheMusketeer Ulrick]]''', a [[HunterOfMonsters Hunter (of undead)]] and [[OurVampiresAreDifferent Crosspyre]] {{Dhampyr}} who only recently decided to tag along with the party. Played by [[NewMeat Cathen.]]

'''[[NervesOfSteel Seor von Bismarck]]''', a [[MagicKnight Warmage]] that [[DefectorFromDecadence ran away]] from [[NebulousEvilOrganization The Masquerade]] during a battle. Joined recently. Played by [=JohnVIBritania.=]

[[folder:Setting]]
* AnachronismStew : [[JustifiedTrope Justified.]] The existence of gods has scrambled technological and social development around the world.
* AppliedPhlebotinum : Almost everything strange or supernatural runs on Mana.
* BadVibrations : Andre is quite a fan of this and other subtle hints that something big is about to kill the party.
* BigCreepyCrawlies : The Antilon Queen in the desert surrounding Istanbul is huge. I mean '''HUGE.''' As in, after the party mistook its ''tongue'' for the actual Queen, which then reared up a good 50-60 feet into the air, Laika ''still'' couldn't see how large its body was under the sand despite having 60 ft. Blindsense.
* BlackAndGrayMorality : ''Hoo'' boy. Moral ambiguity is a major theme of the setting. In fact, the setting would probably be under GreyAndGrayMorality if it weren't for ObviouslyEvil organizations like [[KnightTemplar The Inquisition]] or [[NebulousEvilOrganisation The Masquerade.]]
* BreakTheBadass : Andre makes it a hobby to do this regularly. Often times it backfires.
** A precise example is when Zeike, TheHero and TheChosenOne of fire, nearly shit his pants when a vampire lord somehow got into the ship he was on. This lasted for about five seconds. Xivlan and Patch were scared, though. Unfortunately for the vampire, it was a full moon.
* CharacterDevelopment : Oh, lots of it. There's more roleplaying moments in the campaign than there are combat moments.
* CityOfAdventure : Not actually that common; most cities have too many safety measures against the things outside the city to allow free reign inside.
* CrapsackWorld : If you don't have near-superhuman abilities, you're going to have a really rough time in this world.
* DeathIsCheap : Aside from spells such as Raise Dead (This is ''TabletopGame/DungeonsAndDragons'', after all), any character has the opportunity to come back to life if they manage to pass a test. If the character succeeds, they somehow pick themselves up and gain a horror. If they fail, the player rolls a new character.
* HornyVikings : In northern Germany, and they worship the Moon. Quite likable, especially when they're [[BigDamnHeroes saving your life.]]
* KnightInShiningArmor : Relatively nonexistent. The people with big weapons saving you from being eaten alive tend to look rather shiny though.
** Shine that comes from fresh blood on metal doesn't count.
* KnightInSourArmor : Anyone actually trying to do good has either died or become this.
* MightMakesRight : The focus between the warring religions and organization.
* NothingCanSaveUsNow : Frequently, and almost always followed by a BigDamnHeroes DeusExMachina.
* OurMonstersAreDifferent : Andre takes pride in dishing up several new, horrific creatures which are only tangently based on some previous monster.
* RagtagBunchOfMisfits : Both parties, with varying amounts of misfit and always large amounts of ragtag.
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveSupernaturalPowers! : A remarkably common justification.
* WorldOfBadass : Incredibly blatant. While it's fairly obvious that the majority of the world population is non-badass, it's not a very large majority.
* ZombieApocalypse : Happening in a few areas, although it is mostly kept in check by demons, supernatural beasts, religious extremists or people who are just really good at killing things.

[[folder:Organizations]]

* '''The Old Party'''
** PlayerParty : Well, yeah.
** TeethClenchedTeamwork : From several sides, frequently Patch and/or Xivlan. Eventually caused the end of Version 1.0.

* '''The New Party'''
** [[FemaleAngelMaleDemon Female Lehran Male Shishui]] : Although both of their races are [[OurAngelsAreDifferent technically]] [[OurDemonsAreDifferent different]] from the norm, Solace and Kensei fit this trope.
** HighTurnoverRate : [[strike:Variation : Currently, no one is playing the character they started the campaign with]] Moved past Variation into playing it completely straight. In order, members of the party been: Killed off by the player, PutOnABus, killed by LaserGuidedKarma, [[PutOnABus taken a new job offer,]] [[PutOnABus gone home,]] [[KilledOffForReal killed in a duel,]] and [[PutOnABusToHell vanished while following some obviously evil individuals.]]
%% This is a zero context example. Please do not uncomment until further context has been added. ** PlayerParty :Duh.

* '''Anheim'''
** AdventureTowns : The Anheim City is where the Letters and other Anheim members hang out when they aren't kicking ass.
** AirborneAircraftCarrier : The Anheim City (which flies above the world) frequently deploys and docks flying ships.
** AsskickingLeadsToLeadership: The more impossible things you've accomplished, the more you get tasked with.
** BadassArmy : They're either this or a...
** BadassCrew : There are [[strike:26]] 27 "Letters." And every single one is a total badass.
** CoolAirship : Several.
** DynamicEntry : Seems to be the favored method of entry by Anheim as a whole. In support of this theory, their air-to-ground transportation involves launching individual agents out of cannons from flying ships.
** FloatingContinent : The Anheim City (which goes by various names) floats high above the world, constantly in motion. Most members carry some sort of tracking device so they can stay aware of the city's location.
*** Artemis does this by flipping off the sky, a handy gesture he learned from his party members in his early stages.
** {{God}} : Or at least ''a'' god. Serves as the leader of Anheim, and unlike some versions of god, he cares more about getting the job done then the methods employed by his organization.
** HeroesRUs : Or at least the closest thing you'll get to it in this world.
** HolierThanThou : It's more of a passive elitism though. They don't need to tell you they're better; they simply demonstrate why.
** ImprobableWeaponUser : Most Anheim letters.
*** Such as an old man who has to be upwards of sixty using a sword so sharp it's invisible.
** KlingonPromotion : It is implied that it is possible to take a Letter's place by defeating him/her.
** LimitBreak : Anheim has developed "Ranked Abilities" which draw upon the soul of the user and take a form which mirrors the users soul. They go from Rank 1 (Weakest) to Rank 5 ([[FantasticNuke Nuke]]).
** RivalScienceTeams : With Faustus.
** {{Unobtainium}} : Anheim has several different kinds which it uses for its weapons.
** [[YouAreNumberSix You are Letter J]] : Anheim Letters are only known by their letter.

* '''The Inquisition'''
** ChurchMilitant : Which might be a bit of an understatement.
** HolierThanThou : Any they want to make sure your heretic ass knows it.
** KnightTemplar : Oh so much.
** LightIsNotGood : Light Is Pretty Much Evil in this case.
** RedemptionEqualsDeath : The Inquisition's take on just about every sin, including lack of respect.
** ScaryImpracticalArmor : The giant armor that the Patriarchs wear.
** SpikesOfVillainy : The more you have on your shoulder, the more heretic scum you've purged.
** TortureTechnician : Their ways of making heretics confess don't rank very high on the pleasant scale.

* '''Gios'''
** BadassBookworm : The higher level Librarian Knights. The standard foot soldiers, though...
** BlingOfWar : The standard uniform for a good amount of the foot soldiers.
** CoolAirship : It resembles a spanish galleon with golden wings.
** GreatBigBookOfEverything: They probably have it somewhere...
** {{Mook}} : The standard library guard.
** ScaryLibrarian : Considering the books they're charged to watch over, it's somewhat justified.
** TomeOfEldritchLore : Gios has several of these, and they serve as the organizations primary {{Fantastic Nuke}}s.

* '''Nightwatch'''
** DarkIsNotEvil : Nightwatch likes to stress this inbetween bouts of assassination and torture.
** WeHelpTheHelpless : For a sizeable fee, at least.

* '''Faustus'''
** AncientTomb : Used for data storage. Along with various corpses as a user interface.
** AsskickingLeadsToLeadership: See HoistByHisOwnPetard below.
** BeneathTheEarth : Where their primary HQ is situated.
** BiggerOnTheInside : Every Gravedigger's coffin contains an extradimensional space. And a link to every other coffin nearby.
** FridgeHorror : Most people who do freelance work for Faustus have a moment of this at some point in time. "Wait, did they just take all the scrap metal I've been gathering for them, melt it into a blade then melt it on the head of a horribly charred body?".
** ForScience : The entire reason Faustus does most of what they do.
** GoneHorriblyWrong : The results of most Faustus experiments. They consider this to be a good thing if the result is even more strange, disgusting or disfigured then they planned.
** HoistByHisOwnPetard : Faustus doctors have an unfortunate tendency of getting chopped up by their students.
*** Xivlan's initiation: Xivlan: "So, am I in for the meeting?" Fausteles: "Why, yes, just take a seat." Xivlan: "...There aren't any seats." Faustelese: "Then, take one, over there." *He points to a seat with a man in it* Xivlan: *Reads the plating on the chair* "Dr...Cesius?" Cesius: "Yes?" Xivlan: "I'll be taking your seat." Cesius: "Over my dead body!" Xivlan: "Gladly." *Player rolls a natural 20 on a decapitation check. Dr Cesius dies in one blow. The high doctors give him a round of applause as Xivlan sits in his chair, which raises about three feet off the ground because he's that awesome.*
** MorallyAmbiguousDoctorate : Any group that kills off entire populations, experiments on the bodies to make them effective reanimated killing machines then uses them to harvest bodies for the scientific creation of a god is morally ambiguous at minimum.
** RivalScienceTeams : With Anheim.
** ScaleOfScientificSins : Faustus has broken all of these at some point in time.
** TheyCalledMeMad : Just about everyone working for Faustus has said this at some point in time.
** TheyWouldCutYouUp : Rather goes without saying for a group that uses reanimated corpses with weapons attached as standard soldiers.

* '''Masquerade'''
** ErmineCapeEffect : Except they tend to wear these clothes for centuries.
** NebulousEvilOrganization : Pretty much.
** TheOmniscientCouncilOfVagueness : Just about any vampire in command.
** VillainByDefault : The scheming, dishonest and power hungry demigods ruin it for everyone else.

* '''Synthetic Angels'''
** DarkMessiah : Their leader, if Andre's hints are anything to go by, are one of these.
** OurAngelsAreDifferent : The organization is made up of individuals who believe themselves to be the descendants of angels and follow a [[DarkMessiah messianic figure]].
** SmugSnake : In comparison to the various other organizations out there, the smug defiance shown by some of its agents is... hilariously misguided.
** WitchHunt : The Synthetic Angels modus operandi is to infilterate a community and use magic to create "miracles," before revealing themselves and claiming that their Messiah was responsible. Once the entire community is in their thrall, they turn it militant and move on. One of the only ways to stop them before they get to the intentional reveal stage is to hunt them down.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Classes]]
* '''Vampire Hunter'''
** VampireHunter: ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin.

* '''Witch Hunter'''
** BurnTheWitch : Or stab her. Or blow her up. Or slice her up. Or absorb her spells then use them against her. Or overclock her internal energy causing her to explode. Or fire ethereal blades at her. Alternatively, just shoot her.
** TheWitchHunter: ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin.

* '''Mortician'''
** MorallyAmbiguousDoctorate : Actually an extremely accurate description. They're capable of healing their allies by stitching them back together, applying anaesthetic, etc., but are also capable of using their knowledge of the body's weakpoints to kill enemies in one hit. And they can AnimateDead.

* '''Chosen One'''
** TheChosenOne : They're mass produced. As weapons. Which makes them...
** TheChosenMany : A large variety of organizations empower several Chosen Ones to serve their purposes.
** ElementalPunch : Standard ability for any Chosen One.
** EnergyBall : Another standard ability.

* '''Library Knight'''
** MagicKnight : In a nutshell.

* '''Servant of Dracula'''
** CastingAShadow: They use shadow magic.

* '''Lunar Scythe'''
** SinisterScythe : Mostly averted, as the Lunar Scythes mostly use the scythe as a religious symbol, means of aerobic and exercise.
*** That doesn't reduce the remarkable amounts of carnage it can reap though.
** BadPowersGoodPeople : Just because they can cause massive lacerations, perform fatal curses and drive people insane with simple prayers doesn't mean they do.

* '''Assassin'''
** {{Backstab}} : It wouldn't be an assassin without it.
** CombatPragmatist : Assassins have no idea why everyone else doesn't end the fight in a single strike like they do.

* '''Bane Arrow'''
** PsychicPowers : Mainly used to power various {{Trick Arrow}}s.
** TrickArrow : A staple of the class.

* '''Myrmidon'''
** AbsurdlySharpBlade : It's a class feature. By 20th level, a myrmidon's sword can cut through anything, including ''magic.''
** AncestralWeapon : Another class feature.
** CripplingOverspecialization : Myrmidons are so reliant on their Ancestral Weapon that being separated from it renders them next to useless.
** GlassCannon : A short-range version of this. They're ridiculously accurate and capable of annihilating entire hordes alone... [[OneHitPointWonder as long as they don't get hit.]]
** ImplausibleFencingPowers : Gets steadily more implausible with each new level. By 20th level, a myrmidon always hits his target, and there's a better than even chance that he'll kill that target in one hit. And if he doesn't, he can attack them several more times. Even, no, ''especially'' when it isn't his turn.

* '''Nightsong'''
** AnimateDead : Their music can do this.
** BrownNote : Music specifically designed to kill the listeners.
** [[DarkIsNotEvil Dark Counterpart]] : To the Daysong class.
** MusicalAssassin : In a nutshell.

* '''Bloodkain'''
** BloodMagic : Capable of, although they prefer using it directly.
** ThePowerOfBlood : The Bloodkain take this a step farther and even use it as a weapon.

* '''Brawler'''
** AxCrazy : Consuming large amounts of alcohol and charging into combat with no weapons tends to make people rather brutal and unstable.
** NoHoldsBarredBeatdown : The point of a Brawler's existance.

* '''Corpse Collector'''
** AxCrazy : Far more so then the Brawler, and that's without alcohol.
** CruelAndUnusualDeath : Generally inflicted upon their target. Urgh...
** ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice : If you're wondering how they hold onto all those corpses... yeah.

* '''Daysong'''
** [[LightIsNotGood Light Counterpart]] : To the Nightsong class.
** ThePowerOfRock : YEAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!! INSPIRE GREATNESS!!
** TurnUndead : One of their primary abilities.
** WhiteMagic : Well, divine magic. Similar enough, really.

* '''Warmage'''
** MagicKnight : They're fairly bulky, almost tank-ish spellcasters.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Prestige Classes]]
* '''Missionary'''
** ImprobableWeaponUser : Missionaries use giant religious symbols equipped with various weapons (Such as a cross with attached flamethrower and chainsaws) as their primary equipment.

* '''Inquisitor'''
** ImprobableWeaponUser : What the heck is a pendulum anyway?

* '''Gunslinger'''
** BlastingItOutOfTheirHands : A class ability.
%% This is a zero context example. Please do not uncomment until further context has been added. ** TheGunslinger : Paging Captain Obvious.
** QuickDraw : One of their class abilities.

* '''Blademaster'''
** FlashStep : This is one of their class abilities.
** MasterSwordsman : To a certain degree; the class actually focuses more on maneuverability than using a sword itself, although maneuverability is arguably one of the most important parts of swordplay.

* '''Gravedigger'''

* '''Death Doctor'''
** GoodPowersBadPeople : You would figure the doctors would actually be healing people.

* '''Angel'''
** AngelicTropes : By 10th level, a character in this class fits most of these tropes.
** ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin : Essentially, a [[OurAngelsAreDifferent Lehran]] becomes a fully-fledged angel.
** OurAngelsAreDifferent : The abilities of the class are mostly based off the abilities of the Angels in the D&D 3.5 Monster Manual.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Races]]
* '''Humans'''

* '''Orlock'''
** Immortality : Being alive for so long has made them rather unhappy.
** OurElvesAreDifferent: The equivalent of elves in Twilit Overture. They share the same beautiful grace and inhuman elitism. Their traits overlap with vampires, though.
** WhoWantsToLiveForever : The Orlocks certainly don't.

* '''Elder Vampires'''
** AlwaysChaoticEvil : Assumed. Any Elder Vampires in the Masquerade certainly qualify.

* '''Cursed Lycans'''
** BlessedWithSuck : When you consider how dangerous and intimidating it makes you, the drawbacks tend to outweigh the benefits.
** OurWerewolvesAreDifferent : They're capable of turning into a hybrid form even when the moon isn't full, but their ability to do so is affected by the moon's phases.

** '''Alpha Lycans'''

* '''Wolfkin'''
** OurWerewolvesAreDifferent : Of the "More Wolf then Man" variety.

* '''Malphus'''
* WingedHumanoid : All varieties of Malphai have wings and resemble birds to various degrees.
** '''Tengu Malphus'''
** '''Crow Malphus'''
** '''Eagle Malphus'''

* '''Dhampyr'''
** '''Hellspawn Dhampyr'''
*** HalfHumanHybrid : The child of a vampire and a human. It generally isn't a happy life.

* '''Golems'''
** '''Fleshpound Golems'''
** '''Clockwork Dolls'''
** '''Homonculus Golems'''

* '''Phenomena'''
** '''Shisui'''
*** OurDemonsAreDifferent : They have jet black hair, develop black flame-pattern marks all over their bodies, and have eyes that can rival most {{Fantastic Nuke}}s. And they're not really demons, they're just an extremely rare genetic offshoot of humans.
** '''Lehran'''
*** OurAngelsAreDifferent : Their hair turns pure white around age five, their kiss acts as a CharmPerson, they can sing songs with magical effects, and only a few of them gain wings. And they're not really angels, they're just an extremely rare genetic offshoot of humans- wait.
** '''Ragamuffin'''
*** OurGhostsAreDifferent : Although there is a bit of a confusion over what the heck Ragamuffins are even supposed to be, so they might not even BE ghosts.

!!'''Niccolo'''

->"Holy Special!"

[[WideEyedIdealist Dreamaniac's]] first character, Niccolo joined the party after a bizarre shipwreck left him stranded in the future.

* TheAtoner : Sold the souls of his corrupt noble father's family, believing them to be irredeemably evil. Realized afterwards that this was a grade-A idiot move, and seeks to somehow redeem the souls he condemned someday.
* BadassLongcoat : Had one for a while, dumped it during the group's trip to the desert. If his FutureBadass self is any indication, he finds another one eventually.
* BlastingItOutOfTheirHands : One of his class abilities, useful when party members are at each others' throats.
* CombatPragmatist : Equipped his boots with alchemical silver spikes specifically for the purpose of kicking vampires in the nads.
* DealWithTheDevil : A remarkably decent one at the cost of his entire living families' souls. He desperately seeks to undo it. However, as of 2.0 it may have finally caught up with him.
* DepletedPhlebotinumShells : "Silver Express" bullets: Silver-tipped bullets hollowed out and filled with garlic and holy water. Perfect for your vampire, undead, and lycan killing needs.
* FaceHeelTurn : At some point in the five years between 1.0 and 2.0, this happened to him.
* FallenHero : By 2.0, Niccolo has fallen far from whatever heroic ideals he had.
* FaustianRebellion : Subverted. He has the ability to condemn souls, and has one hundred souls-worth of favors from the devil. Instead of trying to use them against the devil, he simply refuses to use them at all.
* FishOutOfTemporalWater : Of the [=PCs=] in the old campaign, Niccolo had the weakest case of this .
* FutureBadass : Niccolo meets himself at one point. And comes away with a [[LimitBreak Ranked Ability]].
* FutureMeScaresMe : Meta example. Upon hearing the description for what is probably the future version of Niccolo, Dreamaniac was... freaked out, to say the least.
* GunsAkimbo : Dual-weilding revolvers is his specialty.
* TheGunslinger : It's his prestige class!
* TheHeart : Of the old party's FiveManBand, he was the most empathic. It helps that he was also Bishonen.
* HeroicBastard : His father was a corrupt, philandering English nobleman, and his mother was an Italian whore who was quite pious in most other regards.
* ImprobableAimingSkills : Part of his class abilities. However, he's not as insanely accurate as some examples of this trope.
* LimitBreak : "Rank One! FABRICATI DIEM, PVNC!"
* LoveEpiphany : Realized around the end of the Old Campaign that he was beginning to fall for M.
* MarkedBullet : His [[MadeOfEvil "Unholy Special"]] bullets condemn the souls of their targets to hell. He never actually takes advantage of this effect, though.
* MartyStu : If you go by his {{Backstory}}, he appears to be a blatant one, but for all practical purposes he was actually one of the weaker party members.
* MotiveDecay : He was supposed to be serving his queen and country. Now he's just trying to keep his party members from killing each other.
* NeutralGood : He's a nice guy, and is certainly the most moral of the party he joins.
* OvertOperative : Before joining the party, he worked for Her Majesty's Secret Service. [[http://Dreamaniacal.deviantart.com/art/Niccolo-137367700 With an outfit like this.]]
* PutOnABus : Along with the rest of the party.
* QuickDraw : One of his specialties with his revolvers.
* RevolversAreJustBetter : Mostly because nothing better has been invented yet.
* WhamLine / EstablishingCharacterMoment : In 2.0, it's "I only said I'd explain. I never said you'd leave here alive."

!!'''Zeike von Seiren'''

->"There's much more burning where you're going."

[[DeadpanSnarker Pronto's]] first character, Zeike tore through everything in his path with zeal and skill was devoted to the Anheim organization.
* BadassLongcoat : Made out of fur. With metal attachments.
* TheBigGuy : His character was a combination of this and TheHero in the old parties FiveManBand.
* ChainsawGood : Which is why he has one mounted on his cross.
* ChaoticGood : Generally his motives are altruistic, he just doesn't mind fighting the power while working towards them.
** ChaoticEvil : His Werewolf self... just look at the next one.
* FlamingSword : Overlaps with BFS: eight feet long and flying.
* TheHero : His character was a combintation of this and TheBigGuy in the old parties FiveManBand.
* HotBlooded : When he's fighting. Dear god, when he's fighting. So much that he once turned a being made of sand into glass.
* ImpossiblyCoolWeapon : Giant cross? Check. Giant cross with a chainsaw mounted on the side? Check. Giant cross with a chainsaw mounted on the side and two small firearms, a grappling hook and a Gauss cannon built into the frame, on fire? Check.
* IncendiaryExponent : Zeike even lights himself on fire, just to increase his combat effectiveness and look more intimidating.
* KillItWithFire : Zeike's general solution to most problems.
* LargeHam : When he gets into a fight... yeah.
* LimitBreak : "Rank V! HELL'S FURNACE!"
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: Ezekiel Vey Sairen, Chosen One of our lord of fire and destruction
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent : They're called Lycans. However, they're fairly similar to the "standard" werewolf.
* PutOnABus : Along with the rest of the Old Party. Recently showed up in a [[strike:blatant]] '''''AWESOME''''' cameo role.
* PyroManiac : Zeike in a nutshell.
* ShoutOut : Hmm where do we start?
** His first name is a reference to the [[Literature/TheBible the prophet Ezekiel]]
** His Weapon is a shout out to [[Manga/{{Trigun}} Nicholas D. Wolfwood]] though beyond the shape it doesn't have much in common
** When he killed patch he read [[Literature/TheBible Ezekiel]] [[Film/PulpFiction 25 17]]
** And for the longest time his motto as a Chosen One was [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWER!]]
* [[TookALevelInBadass Took Another Level In Badass]] : Sometime between the old campaign and the new one, he became even more badass then he was before.

!!'''Xivlan'''

->"AHAHAHAHHAHAAH! DO IT, PATCH! SHOOT ME AGAIN AND PROVE THAT I'M RIGHT!"

[[TheShortGuyWithGlasses XIVcaliber's]] first character. The source of much inner-party strife due to his [[FantasticRacism absolute ''hatred'']] of humans.

* AxeCrazy : This is obvious in the fact that he wants all humans dead. He will also kill anything that seems like an obstacle to him. Including his own party members.
* AnnoyingLaugh: Everyone was annoyed by his shrill laugh.
* {{Backstory}} : Raised in a Malphas town in Poland, an Inquisition raid took the lives of his parents and townspeople, forcing him to live with his cousin and start hating humans for branding him as a "heathen". From then on, he started practicing medicine to make humans look up to him. This eventually deteriorated into mania as he started seeing weird shit while traveling.
* BloodLust : For humans.
* BreakTheHaughty : His entire life. He hates humans a lot.
* ChaoticEvil : For the second half.
* ChaoticNeutral : For the first half of the old campaign.
* {{Cloudcuckoolander}} : He often daydreams about ways to kill humans, especially Patch.
* CollectorOfTheStrange : Bodies. There was one instance where he murdered two hobos in their sleep and put them in his coffin, saying that "They were no longer contributing to society".
* DartboardOfHate : Patch. He hates him with such a passion that it's unhealthy.
%% * EvilLaugh
* FatalFlaw : Insanity.
* FreudianExcuse : "HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMAAAAAAAAAANS!!!"
* HeterosexualLifePartners : With Zeike. He's really the only friend he has in the party, and he's not a human. Of course, that was to be expected.
* {{Jerkass}} : Towards humans, and towards Patch.
** JerkassWoobie : Because he has a reason for it, and it's sad.
* LackOfEmpathy : He enjoys watching humans scream. Other people, not so much.
* LaughingMad : His shrill "GYAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!" was a staple part of the campaign, to everyone's distaste.
* LickingTheBlade : He does this numerous times before he fights.
* LimitBreak : "Rank II! Extended Procedure!"
* LovesTheSoundOfScreaming : See above.
* MaddenIntoMisanthropy : "HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANS!!!"
* MadDoctor : This is fairly obvious. His first class was Mortician, a support/melee healing class that can do some weird shit with corpses. His prestige class was Gravedigger, a class that allowed the usage of giant coffins to carry around undead constructs.
** EvilutionaryBiologist : He believes that killing and maiming innocent humans will lead them to a better world because they would have to rely on other people.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: Xivlain is a scary name
* NightmareFetishist : His response to the AlienGeometries of the hell dimension? "This place is wonderful!"
* NotThatKindOfDoctor : The Gravedigger class. They're more of an undead-summoning tank than a doctor.
* PutOnABus : His suspension from the campaign, between the Old and the New ones. It's unknown what's happened to him.
* SelectiveSlaughter : Humans.
* SmarterThanYouLook : He actually had the highest Intelligence score in the entire party, despite being crazy.
* TheSmartGuy : Was definitely this in the old parties FiveManBand.
* SwissArmyAppendage : His coffin. This only counts because it's essentially a part of him, and because you can fit all sorts of cool stuff in it.
* TookALevelInBadass : Gravedigger. Their skills include freely teleporting coffins out of space and unleashing undead horrors, taking the effects of rigor mortis onto themselves, and upgrading corpses with weapons and supernatural powers.

!!'''Patch'''

->"Hmph..."

The first character of a player who is no longer with the group. His mere presence was the bane of Xivlain's existence, and the hatred was completely mutual.
* {{Backstory}} : Averted.
* BerserkButton : Witches.
* DeathIsCheap : No matter how many times he was killed, he didn't seem to stay dead.
* FusionDance : Zekaiv somehow gained Patches old body and memories. No one knows how.
* GoodAngelBadAngel : Variation: Whenever Patch died, he was confronted by a successful version of himself and a hobo version of himself. In a twist, the hobo urged Patch to avoid turning into him, while the successful version warned Patch that every failure brought him closer to the hobo.
* TheLancer : Was this in the old parties Five Man Band. Eventually replaced in this role by [[SixthRanger Zekaiv]], at least until they... combined.
* ThePowerOfFriendship : Averted in every way possible.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork : Even when Patch and Xivlan weren't actually at each other's throats, they got along like a house on fire.
* TookALevelInBadass : The players believe they've met Patch in 2.0 in the guise of "The Employer." He's gotten much, much, ''much'' more powerful.

!!'''Zekaiv'''

->"I don't care about getting involved in your shit, I go my own way, and [[CatchPhrase this does not concern you.]]"

The second character played by aforementioned player. Attempted to get along with Xivlain more than Patch at first, then threw all pretense of amiability out the window.

* CatchPhrase : "This does not concern you." To the point of MemeticMutation amongst the players.
* EveryoneIsRelated : Is somehow connected to Patch. No one really knows how. Or why.
* FusionDance : Did... ''something'' like this to regain Patch's body. The entire situation is a low-level MindScrew.
* MindScrew : Why the hell does Zekaiv have Patch's body and memories now?!
* RageAgainstTheHeavens : Asked a god who the fuck he thought he was. And was immediately 1-upped by having his gouged-out eye returned by said god.
* ShoutOut : Wields a [[Franchise/AssassinsCreed wrist blade]], and his name is [[VideoGame/ModernWarfare Zekaiv]].
* SixthRanger : Although he shows up after Patch has left/died. [[FusionDance But then...]]

[[/folder]]

[[folder: Player Characters Version 2.0]]

!!'''Laika'''

->"What are you waiting for?! Lets go kill some shit!!!"

The second character played by [[{{Keet}} Dreamaniac.]] A [[OurWerewolvesAreDifferent lycan]] swordsman, trained in the way of the blade by a MasterSwordsman from the far east.

* AbsurdlySharpBlade : It can cut through ''anything'' that isn't at least as hard as ''adamantium.'' And it gets even ''sharper'' the stronger Laika gets.
* BackFromTheDead : He ended up getting killed by Card Shark when the latter deduced that Laika's training of the Istanbul city guard was the only thing keeping the city safe from invasion. Laika ended up going to what appeared to be heaven ([[CrapsackWorld which was noticeably empty]]) and finding a way back to the middle world.
* BigBrotherInstinct : When he was still with his gypsy caravan, he was quite protective of Solace (his younger sister by ten years).
* BloodKnight when he's first introduced, at least. He's concerned with getting stronger and killing stuff.
* BloodLust : He has a form of this when he shifts into his Lycan form.
* ChaoticNeutral : When first introduced, he's mainly this, although he's also slightly more good than neutral.
* CharacterDevelopment : The offer to train the Istanbul Guard and gaining a point in intelligence caused Laika to shift from Chaotic to Neutral. He was mostly good-aligned already, as well.
* CoolSword : Even when it isn't being held by Laika, it still has the poem ''Invictus'' carved along it's edge across both sides.
* CripplingOverspecialization : As long as he's holding his specially attuned longsword, Laika is deadly. If he isn't holding it... well, he's screwed.
* EmpathicWeapon : Like all myrmidon weapons, Laika's longsword can instinctively communicate with him and praises him for doing well in combat. On the flipside, if he doesn't get into any lethal combat for an extended period of time, like when he was training the Istanbul guard, the blade goes dull and sword seems heavier and harder to lift.
* GlassCannon : Laika can choose to make ''any'' attack that manages to hit an opponent a critical hit, and he can attack up to six times in a single round. If anything actually hits him, he's toast.
* HesBack : After training the Istanbul guard for a while, Laika's back and ready to kill stuff!
* ICallItVera : He refers to his weapon as "Invictus." And spends a good thirty minutes every morning sharpening and cleaning it.
* ImplausibleFencingPowers : He has these thanks to the Myrmidon's class abilities, although most of those abilities are focused on making his sword even more [[AbsurdlySharpBlade absurdly sharp.]]
* KnowWhenToFoldEm : Quite thankfully, he does.
* NeutralGood : Became this around the time he left the new party due to CharacterDevelopment.
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent : They can retain the ability to hold swords, for one.
* PutOnABus : Last the party heard he was headed to Istanbul to join and train the city guard... but now he's back.
* UsefulNotes/{{Roma|ni}} : Was born in a gypsy caravan.
* SuperSenses : Increased sense of hearing, smell, and sight, and a sixth sense which essentially gives him radar out to 60 ft.

!!'''Artemis Vulcan mk.XIV'''

->"Scanning for point of origin. Commencing combat protocol."

* AgeAppropriateAngst : All he wants to do is go home...
* BewareTheHonestOnes : "Words like that can get you killed around here." -The Employer, often brought up by Artemis.
* BewareTheNiceOnes : He's such a cutie. Until you mess with his prime directive.
* CharacterTics : His Anheim tracking device. He will periodically flip off the sky in the direction of the city.
* ChildrenAreInnocent : Definitely.
* DoesNotUnderstandSarcasm : For a while. He eventually gets the gist of it.
* EveryoneIsRelated : Artemis is part of the big, happy Anheim family.
* FriendshipMoment : He's had a few of these with Laika.
* HolyHitman : He was built by Anheim solely for killing Vampires. How ironic that he got stolen by one.
* ICanStillFight : During his encounter with the "Betting Guy". Usually, he kills everyone in fisticuffs. That is, if you don't get sand shoved in your joints and pinned effortlessly.
* IncorruptiblePurePureness : So much of this. Often, Artemis will adopt gestures and phrases from his party members.
* LawfulNeutral : He's morally ambiguous, but always follows Anheim's directive.
* MagnificentBastard : Sort of. Flipping off most people he meets, crushing skulls and calling in air raids on libraries. But he's still so lovable!
* MilesToGoBeforeISleep : For a while, it seemed like there was nothing Artemis could do to get Anheim to finally bring him home.
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace : Upon meeting Doctor Jenks and getting violated with a Faustes tracking device, Artemis' mental process was immediately "HOSTILE HOSTILE HOSTILE HOSTILE HOSTILE!"
* NotSoWeak : So true. People often overlook the fact that he's made of metal.
* PerpetualExpression : He never smiles. Never.
* PrettyBoy: So much. An innocent robot built like a beautiful teenage boy? All the bad guys want him.
* TinMan : Yep, he's a robot. A Clockwork Doll, actually.
!!'''Seven E. Amalgam'''

->"How many times do I need to remind you that I'm '''MADE OF AIR!?"

* AnimalMotifs : Snakes. Lots and lots of snakes. Presented in a vaguely [[Literature/TheBible biblical fashion.]]
* TheChewToy : The universe staunchly refuses to give him a break. See JerkassWoobie below for details.
* JerkassWoobie : He was the seventh child of a mother determined to have lots of children. [[LawOfInverseFertility Said mother was cold and bitter from almost all of her other children dying during or shortly after birth,]] and thus [[AbusiveParents she considered him as good as dead for most of his childhood.]] She then died the day after she finally told Seven she loved him. The rest of his life was spent refelecting on this agony as he mastered the [[MusicalAssassin Nightsong's]] art, before being absolutely butchered by [[HeroKiller Card Shark.]] Not wanting to lose its favorite [[TheChewToy Chew Toy]], the universe proceeded to ressurect Seven as a [[OurGhostsAreDifferent ragamuffin]], leaving him with amnesia that slowly dissipated to reveal his most painful memories over a long period of time. This has made him bitter.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold : Frequently acts like a total jerk and screws with people by acting insane. However, when returning to a city that was just bombarded by airship artillary, his first course of action is to help make bandages and look after the wounded.
* TheLancer : At least, if the party ever fully reunites.
* LimitBreak : Like many members of Anheim, he possesses a Ranked Ability.
* MusicalAssassin : The powers of a Nightsong involve death and/or negative energy.
* OurGhostsAreDifferent : He isn't even a real "ghost." He's a "ragamuffin," a sentient collection of objects held together by a constant whirlwind.
* Revenge : Implied to be his sole purpose for even existing.
** It makes sense; [[spoiler:he was killed by Card Shark]].

!!'''Solace'''

->"They '''saved our lives'''. We owe them more than not killing them."

[[LoveFreak Dreamaniac's]] third character, and easily the most idealistic character to exist in the entire setting. [[CrapsackWorld The setting]] [[BreakTheCutie responds accordingly.]]

* ActionGirl : While not necessarily strong or tough, she's certainly skillful enough to qualify.
* BeingGoodSucks : Of the entire cast of characters, she's the only one who tries to be unambiguously good, in a [[CrapsackWorld setting that mercilessly tears apart such intentions.]]
* BreakTheCutie : [[GameMaster Von Gentleman]] has joked that he had a list several pages long detailing ways to further break Solace down.
* CharmPerson : A kiss from her can have this effect. She doesn't like using it though. Aside from this ability, she's actually extremely personable.
* CloserToEarth : Certainly one of the most sensible, practical, and reasonable of the party.
* DarkAndTroubledPast : Lady Merideth, the Duchess of Wellington, member of the Inquisition and the first of Solace's teachers in the art of the Daysong, did horrible things to Solace that haunt her nightmares to this day.
* GuileHero : She completely decimated an army of trolls with four spells [[NoodleImplements and a violin]]. None of those spells did direct damage, and only two of them had any kind of direct effect on said army.
* TheHeart : She was the moral compass of the party, the emotional center, and the one that kept everyone patched up.
* LightEmUp: Many of her spells utilize searing or healing light.
* LightIsGood : One of the few examples of this in the setting. Quite possibly the only example.
* LongLostSibling : When Laika left his gypsy caravan around 15 years ago, Solace, his younger sister by 10 years, tried to follow him. It didn't turn out well.
* MeaningfulName : Two layers: "Sol" is a reference to the sun, and "Solace" means peace, something she wishes she could bring to the world. It's worth noting that Dreamaniac loves doing this when he can get away with it.
* TheMedic : She's stuck cleaning up/after the rest of the party.
* MysticalWhiteHair : White hair from being a Lehran, pretty girl from 22 Charisma. [[http://Dreamaniacal.deviantart.com/art/Solace-157709847 Here's a reference.]]
* [[ThePowerOfRock Music Can Do Anything]]: She can use it to inspire her teammates, cast multiple spells at once, use it to make undead cower in fear, and various other fun effects!
* NeutralGood : She doesn't care about power, law, or personal satisfaction. She just wants to help people.
* PutOnABusToHell : After finally coming to terms with the fact that Solace [[SlidingScaleOfIdealismVersusCynicism was far too idealistic for the setting]], Dreamaniac handed control of Solace over to [[NightmareFetishist Von Gentleman]] to go back to playing Laika. The party speculates that, whatever may befall Solace, chances are [[BreakTheCutie it won't be pretty.]]
* [[spoiler:RapeAsBackstory]] : See the entry for TheWoobie below.
* SquishyWizard : She can fend for herself, just not for very long.
* WingedHumanoid : Lehran grow wings if they grow old enough or find themselves in unusual grace. Notably, Solace has them, and she's only in her twenties.
* TheWoobie : She spent ten years under the tyrannical control of a member of the Inquisition's intelligence division. What happened then was... unpleasant.
** IronWoobie : ... but like ''hell'' she's going to let that get in her way.

!!'''Avrick de Varro'''

->"Whaddaya mean I've been assigned to this bunch of IDIOTS?!"

* {{Bookworm}} : He's quite an enthusiastic reader.
* BadassBookworm : The natural result of the previous two tropes.
* BrilliantButLazy : It seems this way. His artificial head is so jam-packed with Gios training, but he doesn't seem to utilize it. He finds much more entertainment in [[AxeCrazy impaling people.]]
* CatchPhrase : "Get out of my library!"
* TheChainsOfCommanding : He was placed in control of a legion of coward soldiers. He hates it and really wishes they would shape up, but they don't have the morale.
* CollectorOfTheStrange : Grimoires. He adores them.
* DarkAndTroubledPast : He was tortured by his creator. Being a homunculus isn't at all pleasant, especially if you're one of the first.
* DirtyCop : To an extent. He's quite the vicious Gios knight, even though he may not back up his words a whole lot.
* TheExile : Subverted a little bit. Avrick is held in contempt of his superiors due to his failure in protecting the Angelus, a book of supreme power.
* FatalFlaw : Avrick's sharp tongue.
* GoodIsNotNice : Especially with Avrick. He'll insult his party members, then go and save a peasant village. At the same time.
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice : Avrick's [[RetCon retconned]] combat style involves impaling his opponents on his spike-covered armor.
* {{Jerkass}} : Avrick's defining character trait.
* MusclesAreMeaningless : He may be made out of an organic water composite, but he's been known to punch through barred doors with his fists.
* OutOfCharacterMoment : "You know what, Seven? I envy your past life. Sometimes I wish I was a doctor."
* PhonyVeteran : "I'm a 'commanding officer' of the Gios Sacred Order." By this, he means a {{Mook}} to lead other [[{{Mook}} mooks.]]
* TheSmartGuy : Out of the current party's FiveManBand, yes.
* TheSnarkKnight : Very much so.

!!'''Ulrick'''
* HunterOfMonsters : His class is actually just "The Hunter." It's angled towards hunting undead.
* MultiRangedMaster : He uses both a pistol and a rifle in combat.
* TheMusketeer :

* SixthRanger : Let's all give a big hand to this brand new addition to the party! *applause*
!!'''Seor von Bismarck'''
* DefectorFromDecadence : He used to be a mage for [[NebulousEvilOrganization Masquerade]], until he realized how corrupt it was, and how the tale of Dracula is a bunch of crap.
* TheKirk : He's extremely reasonable; the only reason he isn't a ReasonableAuthorityFigure is because he isn't an authority figure. Right off the bat, he believed Avrick. Score for both of them, especially since they both managed to evade danger using their common sense.

* MagicKnight : His class, the Warmage, in a nutshell. They're fairly bulky and have lots of spellcasting opportunities.

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Non-Player Characters]]
!Anheim Letters

!!'''"A"'''

->"What's that? [[PrecisionFStrike Oh Fuck]] - "

One of the first Anheim letters the party encounters. Unfortunately, he lasts just long enough to demonstrate one of the many horrific deaths available in the setting.

* BadassPreacher : Mixing profanity into his prayers and taking on an entire Faustes Strike Force solo.
* CatchPhrase : O' lord, grant these heathens the deaths they have wrought with their unclean and blasphemous ways.
* ClapYourHandsIfYouBelieve: See ReligionIsMagic below.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath : He dies from getting [[spoiler:stuck in the chest and left to bleed out]]
* FamilyUnfriendlyDeath: He gets killed by [[spoiler:taking a gaff hook through the chest, going into shock and being left to bleed out several feet above the ground so his dying moans will attract the rest of the people in his group]].
* ReligionIsMagic : A lot of A's ability to kill things comes from his faith that god is helping him.

!!'''"New A"'''

-> "Yeah, I was brought on after their last guy who used guns [[PutOnABus vanished.]]"

The character who has obtained the title of '''A''' sometime between the two versions of the campaign. A bit snarky, loves his gun, and really laid back.

* TheGunslinger : He uses firearms as his primary technique.
* MoreDakka : His chaingun is... impressive.
* RummageSaleReject : His outfit is a haphazard mess of crisscrossing belts under a big white overcoat.

!!'''"D"'''

->"*flips off* Bang. This is where we're at right now."

An abrasive, foul-mouthed Anheim letter who hates his job and other people in general. His favorite part of his job as a Letter is occasionally getting to kill these people.

* BadassLongcoat : It can conceal an entire armory worth of guns.
* DualWielding : D usually feel that one gun is enough.
* GatlingGood : One of D's favorite guns.
* GunsAkimbo : Even though one of D's guns tends to be overkill.
* ImprobableAimingSkills : The ability to hit a bird with a handgun, at night, from behind his back qualifies him for this.
* {{Jerkass}} : Like you wouldn't believe.
* LimitBreak : We've seen a few of his Ranked Abilities:
** Rank 2, where a [[AwesomeButImpractical metal tendril attached to a chaingun rips out of his back]].
** Rank 3, where a giant beam of light comes down from the sky and purifies everything.
** Rank 5, where D summons a bigass bazooka. Luckily we never saw him fire it.
* PutOnABus : Hasn't been seen since the old campaign.
** PutOnABusToHell : Now we know that he decided to stay in the Lower World for eternity, and got replaced.
* SawedOffShotgun : That fire incendiary rounds through a heated filter.

!!'''"E"'''

->"Come back when you're stronger."

An incredibly skilled swordsman who seems to be able to delay his sword strikes after he's attacked. He complimented Laika's skills even though Laika was far below him in skill.

* CombatCompliment : He notes that Laika's stance, technique, and speed are all quite good during their sparring match, but also reprimands Laika for his (Laika's) predictabliity.
* MasterSwordsman : Absolutely trounces Laika in a sparring match without even properly drawing his weapon.

!!'''"F"'''

->"I'll make it for you, but only if you mine it with your own hands."

Anheim's go-to guy for anything that can be crafted in a forge. He frequently references his native people, who are apparently all highly skilled craftsman.

* CoolOldGuy : One of the coolest and oldest in Anheim.
* ElementalCrafting : It's assumed he can do this, among other skills.
* GadgeteerGenius : Assumed, although he appears to have a soft spot for antiquated weapons (such as bowguns.)
* UltimateBlacksmith : He can build magical robots, ridiculously accurate bowguns, not to mention the various {{Fantastic Nuke}}s he's probably made for Anheim.
** Chances are he made the 21 Gun Salute artillary, a giant golden statue of seven gunmen, each of which fires three massive shots from their guns.
* [[GunPorn Weapon Porn]] : Anything he makes will have it's spectacular qualities described in intricate detail by the GameMaster.

!!'''"G"'''

->"I can assure you that you won't last very long."

A classy old man with a [[GoodSmokingEvilSmoking cool smoking pipe]] and adroit attitude. He is the father of '''H'''.

* CoolOldGuy : Right alongside F, although G is more refined.
* GoodOldFisticuffs : So good he can use them to block swords. Well, most of the time. It didn't work quite right against Laika...
* GoodSmokingEvilSmoking : Morally ambiguous smoking in this case. And with a pipe.
* LetsFightLikeGentlemen : He has a friendly duel with Laika, and is surprised when Laika manages to heavily injure him.
* LimitBreak : His ranked ability is actually a...
** ShoutOut : Five Steps Re-open Wounds technique? Wonder where that came from. Oh, and his overall character is a ShoutOut to Slayer from ''VideoGame/GuiltyGear''.
* OldMaster : He's only somewhat elderly, but is quite obviously a master of hand-to-hand combat.
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent : They come in varying levels of feral instinct and wolfishness. G has obviously tamed his.

!!'''"H"'''

->"I missed on purpose. You stick out like a sore thumb from that distance."

The daughter of G, and a skilled warrior in her own right. She seems to have a good relationship with her father, if their friendly sparring match is any indication.

* ActionGirl : Assumed. She's an [[BadassCrew Anheim Letter]] and G's daughter.
* [[LikeFatherLikeSon Like Father Like Daughter]] : She seems to take after her father in terms of Badass.

!!'''"K"'''

* GuileHero : He's the guy who gets sent in before shit gets real to make sure that it never does.
* TeenGenius : Well, he's not quite that young, but his youth and intelligence are both remarkable.

!!'''"M"'''

->"Rank Five: Sub-Zero!"

An Anheim letter who tagged along with the old party. An IceQueen in every sense except for the royalty. We think.

* ActionGirl : Most of the time, she prefers to leave things to the party. When she gets involved, '''PEOPLE DIE.'''
* BloodLust : Which she has a surprising amount of control over, for a vampire.
* DeadpanSnarker : While pretty much everyone in the party snarks at somepoint, M is the only one who does it deadpan, and she does it the most frequently.
* ElementalPowers: Remarkable manipulation of ice. Seeing as M can freeze blood too, it's speculated she is simply a water manipulator with a preference towards ice.
* AnIcePerson : All of M's combat efficiency comes from this.
* IceQueen : She's beautiful, she rarely shows emotion other than biting sarcasm, and she has ice powers to boot.
* ImColdSoCold : M spends a lot of time like this. Especially after having used her stronger abilities.
** Led to a MemeticMutation SugarWiki/{{Funny Moment|s}} that currently serves as her quote
* KillItWithIce : M's general strategy when in a fight.
* LimitBreak: Rank 5: Sub- Zero. Has threatened to use it more than once, although it's implied that doing so takes a lot out of her.
** Actually has used it, it killed over 100 Faustes Doctors
* PutOnABus : Along with the Old Party. She may have been seen recently, but it is unconfirmed.
* WorkOffTheDebt : M is working for Anheim in exchange for them letting her use their massive resources to find her long-lost sister.

* [[EveryoneCanSeeIt Zekaiv Can See It]] : Apparently she was eyeing Niccolo quite a bit. According to his player, Niccolo ''was'' beginning to develop feelings for M.
!!'''"New M"'''

->"By the way, here's your sword back. I wanted to see how long it'd take you to notice it was gone."

The replacement for the original '''M''', who was coerced into joining Anheim when he impressed them by nearly managing to rob one of their outposts.

%%* FragileSpeedster : So fast he can avoid detection from Laika's blindsense.
* ImpossibleThief : He wears a sleeveless shirt, shorts, and sandals, and walks off with, amongst other things, Laika's CoolSword, multiple wallets, the oil a psychotic priest was trying to use to set a town on fire, etc., where etc. stands in for pretty much anything.

!!'''"N"'''

-> "And I was just in the middle of my nap, too."

Quite possibly the sister of M, even though she has blonde hair instead of black. If they are siblings, they seem to share the same detached attitude.

** ActionGirl : Far from enthusiastic about it, though.
** CynicalMentor : She gets saddled with being a mentor for the party, and makes it clear that she doesn't care for the job at all.
** DeadpanSnarker : She has hints of this. Considering her sister, it probably runs in the family.
** HotBlooded : Subverted. Unlike almost every other [[PlayingWithFire flame manipulator]] encountered so far, she's tired and somewhat lazy.
** LongLostSibling : During Version 1.0, M's overarching goal was to find N. As of the most recent session of Version 2.0, N has resurfaced, while M is nowhere to be found.
** OurWerewolvesAreDifferent
** PlayingWithFire : When the party first meets her, she smells of cinders. She is implied to be a ChosenOne of Fire.

!!'''"U"'''

* ActionGirl
* ParasolOfPain : She hasn't exactly gotten the chance to show it off, unfortunately.
* {{Ronin}} : Was part of Kensei's {{Samurai}} clan, but abandoned it after she was disgraced after failing a mission.
* TwoGuysAndAGirl : The "Girl" part of this trope with Kensei and Tetsu.

!!'''"Alpha"'''

* CulturedBadass : He's apparently an artist of some kind when he isn't kicking ass.
* MoneyDearBoy : Apparently he doesn't actually ''enjoy'' fighting, but he's still skilled enough to scare the crap out of both players and [=NPCs=] alike.
* ShoutOut : When the party tries to leave his presence before he reads a letter they've given them, [[VideoGame/IWannaBeTheGuy he tosses a wine glass at them with enough force to injure them with the shattered glass.]]

!Faustes Members

!!'''Fausteles'''

->"My brothers, we are one step closer to creating GOD."

* AffablyEvil : When you get past the lack of a soul, disregard for human life and desire to usurp god, Fausteles is a pretty decent guy.
* TheAtoner : His soul... or, well, ''something'' is tremendously regretful of his actions, and he asks the New Party to destroy his work.
* TheChessmaster : Although he does do it in a remarkably pleasant and well mannered way.
* DealWithTheDevil : Faustes did this. Twice.
* FaustianRebellion : Faust sold his soul for power then sold his soul a second time to escape having to deal with his first sale.

!Inquisition Members

!!'''High Primearch Tiefold'''

->"Draw your weapon so that you may die with honor."

* KnightTemplar : "The humble and weak are undeserving of life!"
* LawfulEvil : Very much so.
* MemeticBadass : Has become this among the players after they made a version of him in Soul Calibur IV's character creator and he proved to be incredibly broken.
* ScaryImpracticalArmor : Played straight and subverted. The armor is scary as hell (the helm looks like a demon's head!), but it proves to be quite practical thanks to ridiculously powerful magic within it.

!!'''Guiez'''

* ImprobableWeaponUser : No one has any idea how he's supposed to use the BFS he carries.
* KnightTemplar : As part of the Inquisition, he almost certainly has this trait.

!Amastus

!!'''Card Shark'''

->"You never lose when you control the games."

* CardSharp : Heavily card themed, and quite skilled, although it's yet to be seen if he's any good in a con.
* DeathDealer : He kills people. With cards.
* TheGadfly : He has no problem insulting people that are capable of annihilating entire cities with little effort. He seems to enjoy it.
* TheGambler : Of the card-themed variety. Similar to Luxord, without the charm or class and a significantly more badass.
* HeroKiller : Encounters with him never end well for the party. Or anyone else, for that matter.
* ImprobableWeaponUser : He uses decks of cards. ''Incredibly deadly'' decks of cards.
* {{Jerkass}} : Boy howdy, this guy can insult [[KnightTemplar the Inquisition]] and walk away laughing.
* LegacyCharacter : ''Subverted.'' During the old campaign, the party traveled backward in time and met a character who used an extremely similar card-based fighting style. When the modern Card Shark was questioned, he scoffed, claiming he had spent years perfecting this fighting style, and as far as he knew it had never been used before.
** However, during 7's flashback to [[spoiler:his death]], Card Shark mentioned he had a true form which implies he may be something distinctly more...[[EldritchAbomination Eldritch.]]
* LimitBreak: "Rank 5: Fifty-two Card Pickup."

!!'''The Betting Guy'''

->"Now my odds are 1 out of 100. Time to get serious and win some money."

* AwesomenessByAnalysis : The party has seen him apply it in two ways: making obscene loads of money by betting on a fighting tournament in Istanbul, and using it to crush his opponents, including [[TinMan Artemis.]]
* BadassBookworm : Obviously intelligent. Obviously badass.
* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep : The party never learned his name, so they named him after his incredible prowess with probability.
* {{Expy}} : HIs fighting technique and mannerisms are reminiscient of the latest version of Sherlock Holmes.
* ProfessionalGambler : He is very, very, very good at playing the odds. As in, he always gets them right.

!Other

!!'''Kensei'''

->"[[EscapedFromHell I fought my way out of hell]], and refused an offer from a god of blood to become his champion to do so. [[{{Irony}} I wont be going back anytime soon]]."

* BadassCreed : Like most {{Samurai}}, he follows the code of Bushido.
* TheBigGuy : The outright toughest of the current party. He fell down a hundred foot hole, ''after'' fighting with a frost drake, and only broke one leg.
* DeadlyGaze : The ability to drive people insane, spontaneously cause wounds and burn people to death all rest inside his eyes. [[PowerAtAPrice Using said abilities is by no means cheap.]]
* FlamingSword : Flaming ''Katana''. Even better.
* {{Hellfire}} : He can unleash it with his eyes.
* IncendiaryExponent : As a [[TheChosenMany Chosen One,]] Kensei can activate a "nimbus," bathing himself in flame to both increase his power and ability to intimidate.
* KatanasAreJustBetter : Kensei's entire justification behind his weapon choice. Well, that, and being a samurai.
* KilledOffForReal : Killed in a duel with Tetsu.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone : Kensei has to fight what appear to be arisen zombies while in the Nova Librarium. He then discovers that this was merely an illusion, and that he was killing Library Guards the entire time.
* PlayingWithFire : Kensei does this a lot.
* RedOniBlueOni : Kensei and Tetsu, respectively.
* {{Samurai}} : Specifically, a member of the Orochi clan.

!!'''Tetsu'''

->"I wish not to rule a clan of warmongers."

* AloofAlly : Was this to the party, but not intolerably so. Getting knocked out and narrowly saved by Solace may lead to some CharacterDevelopment.
* BlowYouAway : He is a [[TheChosenOne Chosen One]] of Wind.
* RedOniBlueOni : The Blue Oni to Kensei's Red.
* TheRival : Specifically, Kensei's rival.
* RivalsTeamUp : With Kensei. It doesn't work out quite as well as some would hope, but it wasn't due to rival tension at least.
* TwoGuysAndAGirl : With Kensei and U.

!!'''Laika's Master''' [[spoiler: a.k.a Master Toshiyaki]]

* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep : Only known as "Laika's Master."
* MasterSwordsman : An obscenely powerful myrmidon in life.
* OldMaster : He rarely let age get in his way, though.
* SpiritAdvisor : Laika frequently communes with his master's spirit to seek advice.

!!'''Dracula'''

* TheCorrupter : Upon becoming a [[DeityOfHumanOrigin god]] / [[EldritchAbomination abomination]], he caused his old kingdom to decay into a horrific state by ''[[DeadlyGaze looking at it.]]''
* {{Cult}} : The [[NebulousEvilOrganization Masquerade]] worships him... [[EldritchAbomination but not necessarily as a god.]]
* EldritchAbomination : Upon his ascension, he became either this or...
* GodOfEvil : Yea and most verily.
* RageAgainstTheHeavens : When Dracula was still a mortal man, and about to be executed for slaughtering his own troops to save his own kingdom, he cursed the gods with such venom that he ''transformed into a [[PhysicalGod godlike being of horrific power.]]''
* SealedEvilInACan : Strongly implied. The pieces of Dracula's true form ''may'' be scattered across the world, sealed in coffins to prevent him from rising again.
