4Teyonah Parris (born September 22, 1987 in Hopkins, South Carolina) is an American actress.

6Parris is best known for her role in the Creator/{{AMC}} series ''Series/MadMen'' as Dawn Chambers, the only black person working at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce. She later appeared in the Creator/{{Starz}} series ''Survivor's Remorse'' and Creator/{{FOX}}'s ''Series/{{Empire}}''.

8Parris has also appeared in films, notably Theatre/{{Lysistrata}} in Creator/SpikeLee's 2015 revisionist take on the play of the same name, ''Chi-Raq'', and the Creator/JamesBaldwin adaptation ''Film/IfBealeStreetCouldTalk''. She also originated the role of Coco in the film ''Film/DearWhitePeople'', later succeeded by Antoinette Robertson in Creator/{{Netflix}}'s [[Series/DearWhitePeople series continuation]].

10In 2021, Parris portrayed Creator/MarvelComics superhero ComicBook/MonicaRambeau in the Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse-set Creator/DisneyPlus series ''Series/WandaVision'', succeeding Akira Akbar, who portrayed the character as a child in 2019's ''Film/{{Captain Marvel|2019}}''. She later reprised the role in the ''Captain Marvel'' sequel, ''Film/TheMarvels''.
