4Mavis Gladys Fox Pugh, (25 June 1914 -- 6 December 2006), was a British actress best known for playing Lady Lavender in ''Series/YouRangMLord''.

6Her acting career started late in her life, at the age of 60. Her first role was in 1974 in an episode of ''Series/DadsArmy'', with further appearances in David Croft sitcoms coming in an episode of ''Series/ItAintHalfHotMum'' and three episodes of ''Series/AreYouBeingServed''.

8At the end of The80s, she had small recurring roles in ''Series/HiDeHi'' as Winifred Dempster and Mrs. Barrable in ''Series/{{Sorry}}''. Her biggest role came in 1988 when she played Lady Lavender in ''You Rang, M'Lord?'', a role in which she appeared in every episode until the finale in 1993.

10She was married to fellow actor Creator/JohnClegg and died at the age of 92.
